From February 4, 2022, upon arrival in Slovakia, for fully vaccinated persons, as well as for persons who have overcome the disease, home quarantine upon arrival in Slovakia is not mandatory, the State Border Guard Service of Ukraine has said. “From February 4, 2022, upon arrival in Slovakia, persons who have overcome COVID-19 more than 180 days ago have the same conditions as those vaccinated. That is, for fully vaccinated persons, as well as for persons who have overcome the disease, home quarantine upon arrival in Slovakia is not mandatory,” the service said in a statement on its website on Wednesday.
Previously, people who had the disease were required to go into quarantine. Those who were vaccinated and survived the disease were required to register in the eHranica system.
For now, eHranice registration remains mandatory for unvaccinated individuals after each arrival in Slovakia.
“As for the quarantine for the unvaccinated, it is reduced from ten to five days after arrival in Slovakia, or quarantine is terminated after receiving a negative PCR test result, which can be done immediately after arrival in Slovakia,” the service said.
The service also said that under the rules adopted by the European Commission, for travelers with COVID-19 vaccination certificates, from now on, for EU countries, the vaccination certificate will be valid for travel for nine months. Given this decision, Slovakia has canceled the list of risk countries associated with the omicron coronavirus strain and the special conditions for persons arriving from risk countries.
Citizens of Ukraine who received a booster dose of the coronavirus (COVID-19) vaccine will get an additional UAH 500, President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky said in a video statement on Monday evening.
“There is a clear understanding that immunity grows after each subsequent dose of the vaccine, and the ‘boosterization’ strategy has become the unified standard for all developed countries. Boosterization is the third dose of the vaccine, therefore, under the e-Aid program, another UAH 500 will be allocated for those citizens who receive the third dose,” he said.
There are enough vaccines in Ukraine for the prevention of COVID-19 and a full course of vaccination, as well as for the introduction of a booster dose, Health Minister Viktor Liashko has said.
“Vaccination points and mass vaccination centers are open [except for January 7 – a day off]. There is a vaccine in Ukraine – for the first and second vaccinations, as well as for the introduction of additional and booster doses,” he wrote on his Facebook page.
According to the minister, only three regions of Ukraine have overcome the 50% threshold of the fully vaccinated adult population: Kyiv city (73%), Kyiv (55%) and Poltava (51%) regions.
At the same time, Liashko predicts an increase in the number of COVID-19 cases in the country.
“The healthcare system is preparing for another increase in the number of COVID-19 cases in Ukraine,” he said.
As reported, Liashko on Thursday signed an order on the introduction of a booster dose for all vaccinated Ukrainians over 18 years old.
The number of adult Ukrainians vaccinated against COVID-19 will soon exceed 50%, Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal has said.
“In the near future, 50% of adult Ukrainians will receive vaccinations. There are enough vaccines for everyone to be vaccinated. Since the beginning of the year, 40 million doses of vaccines have been delivered to Ukraine,” he said, opening a government meeting on Wednesday.
The Cabinet of Ministers has spent more than UAH 35 billion to finance the fight against COVID-19, Shmyhal said.
He added that in 2022 Ukraine would also be provided with a sufficient amount of vaccines against COVID-19.
Payment of assistance in UAH 1,000 to vaccinated Ukrainians is provided within the framework of the eSupport budget program and is not included in the total monthly or annual income of a taxpayer, that is, it is not subject to the personal income tax and the military fee, the Ministry of Finance said on the website.
“Since payment of a benefit is carried out under the eSupport budget program, as well as at the expense of funds provided in the state budget for the corresponding year, the amount of such assistance is not included in the total monthly [annual] taxable income of a taxpayer, that is, it is not subject to the personal income tax,” the ministry said on Monday.
The taxation of income of individuals is regulated by Section IV of the Tax Code of Ukraine. According to Subparagraph 165.1.1 of the Code, the total monthly (annual) taxable income of a taxpayer does not include, in particular, the amount of state and social material assistance, state assistance. And in the final provisions of the Code it is indicated that such income is exempt from tax levy, which, according to Section IV of the Tax Code, is not included in the total taxable income of individuals, the Ministry of Finance explained.
Some 100 offline support centers are planned to be opened in Ukraine to provide assistance in receiving UAH 1,000 for vaccinations, head of the Servant of the People party Olena Shuliak said.
“The bill, which was adopted at the first reading on the allocation of UAH 3 billion this year for the so-called ‘UAH 1,000’ for vaccinated Ukrainians, now suggests that this amount will be increased to UAH 8 billion […]. In order to start a program to pay this UAH 1,000, some 100 offline support centers will operate, where assistance will be provided to citizens so that they could receive this UAH 1,000,” Shuliak told journalists on the sidelines of parliament on Thursday.
She also said that this UAH 1,000 is not taxed and does not affect the amount of the subsidy.
