President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky at a meeting with the Mexican businessman, CEO of Principal Standard Group Peter Foyo has stated that he was ready to support establishment of cooperation between his company and Ukraine if it could help provide Ukrainian state or private enterprises with contracts.
“We are open to everything that creates new business in Ukraine and jobs for our citizens,” Zelensky said, noting that he considers any investment project important, regardless of whether it is an investment of a million or a billion.
According to the presidential press service, at a meeting with Foyo and his partner, Vice President of UTG (Ukrainian Trade Guild) Ihor Melnyk, Zelensky stressed that the state is ready to protect “any clean, real investment in Ukraine.”
The president said that, despite rather busy work schedule, he is always ready to find time for projects useful for Ukraine and sit down at the negotiating table for a substantive conversation.
Foyo, in turn, thanked for the meeting and noted that it was a great honor for him to be in Ukraine, since his wife is Ukrainian and he lives with his family in Mexico and in Ukraine.
The businessman said his specialization is telephony and telecommunications services, which is relevant in the context of development of mobile communications in Ukraine and preparations for the launch of 5G. He said the position of President Zelensky on building constructive cooperation on the principles of openness was important for him.
President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky has promised to justify the trust of Ukrainians in the Servant of the People party at the parliamentary elections and called the main priorities of his political force in the Verkhovna Rada of the new convocation. “Some 73% was better, but I am personally and each of us is grateful to the people of Ukraine for their support. We thank the people of Ukraine for the very great confidence in our Servant of the People party. I want to say that this is also a big responsibility for me personally and for our team. We will not let the Ukrainians down,” he said at the party headquarters on Sunday evening.
Zelensky stressed that the main priorities of his team are terminating the war, returning captured Ukrainians and defeating corruption that still exists in Ukraine.
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky has said that he is holding consultations with people who he potentially sees at the post of the Ukrainian prime minister. He said that these are people who do not have a political past and who are professional economists.
“The Prime Minister … must be an absolutely professional economist who must have no political [past]. I would very much like this to be an absolutely independent person who has never been a prime minister, a speaker or a leader any [parliamentary] faction. I see this kind of person. Honestly, I will tell you. I am already holding consultations, talking … with some people,” Zelensky told reporters at a polling station on Sunday.
The head of state said that he has an unchanged position as for the issue of voiced requirements for the prime minister, but admitted that “some people who go to parliament now may not like it because they see themselves in this post.”
The construction of a new terminal of Zaporizhia Airport should be completed in December 2019 to handle flights of Dnipro Airport during the reconstruction of the latter. President Volodymyr Zelensky set the task when visiting the terminal construction site, the president’s official website said.
The terminal is designed to receive 1 million passengers per year.
According to Zaporizhia Mayor Volodymyr Buriak, the airport has more than UAH 50 million in net profit.
President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky has appealed to foreign investors to invest in Ukraine.Zelensky posted the corresponding video on his Facebook page on Thursday.
So, Zelensky said that it is necessary to carry out a series of reforms that would contribute to the economic growth of the country.
“We need to change a lot here: fire non-professionals and hire professionals, deregulate industries, simplify rules, improve the infrastructure and many other things. As you know, changes take time … I invite you, investors, from any part of the world to join the opportunity,” Zelensky addressed investors in the English language.
President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky has ordered that a strategic plan be developed for qualifying to host the Olympic Games in Ukraine. “We need a plan, let’s say, that we are ready to build in 3-4 years and then we can get in line to host the Olympics. We must be ambitious,” Zelensky put the corresponding task during a conversation with Minister of Youth and Sports Ihor Zhdanov and President of the National Olympic Committee of Ukraine Serhiy Bubka on the territory of the State Enterprise Olympic Educational and Sports Center Koncha Zaspa on Tuesday.
According to the head of state, now we need to develop a sports infrastructure which can then be used for the Olympic Games.
“We should give a task to our guys, who are looking for investments, give a task to our budget, to allocate money annually to the objects we need, and then will be used for the Olympics. At least, we must try to achieve this,” Zelensky said.
For his part, Bubka noted that the upcoming Olympic Games for which Ukraine can apply is the 2030 Winter Olympics or the 2032 Summer Olympics.
At the same time, President of the National Olympic Committee of Ukraine noted that it would be more real if we host some of the following Winter or Summer Youth Olympic Games in our country.
