Serbia and Israel are negotiating the signing of a free trade agreement (FTA), according to the Serbian Economist Telegram channel, citing the Euronews Serbia portal.
Belgrade is interested in expanding trade and economic cooperation with Israel, given the growth in mutual trade and investment ties.
Economists note that the conclusion of an FTA with Israel could provide an additional stimulus for Serbian exports, especially in the fields of agriculture, pharmaceuticals, and IT services. At the same time, Belgrade is seeking to diversify its foreign economic ties, maintaining a balance between the EU, China, Russia, and the countries of the Middle East.
Israel is one of Serbia’s leading trading partners in the Middle East. In 2024, trade between the two countries exceeded $120 million.
