GEORGIAN GIG HOLDING READY TO DEVELOP FEASIBILITY STUDY FOR IZMAIL SEAPORT CONCESSION

Georgian GIG Holding is ready to develop a feasibility study of Izmail seaport concession, the website of the Ministry of Infrastructure of Ukraine reported on Tuesday.
During the meeting on the implementation of the public-private partnership project in Izmail Commercial Sea Port, the participants discussed the state of preparation of the concession project and listened to the intentions of a potential private partner of GIG Holding to develop an appropriate feasibility study.
The event was attended by Minister of Infrastructure of Ukraine Vladyslav Krykliy, Director of the Reform Support Team of the Ministry of Infrastructure Iryna Koshel, Director of state enterprise Izmail Commercial Sea Port Andriy Yerokhin, Director General of GIG Holding David Bezhuashvili, other representatives of the Ministry, USPA and Ernst & Young.
Izmail Commercial Sea Port is located on the left bank of the Kiliya estuary of the Danube River in Odesa region. The mooring line of the seaport is 2.6 km (24 berths and 5 onshore terminals). The facility is served by one railway station with three railway entrances.
The cargo turnover of the seaport of Izmail in 2019 amounted to 4.3 million tonnes, in 2020 – more than 3 million tonnes. The throughput capacity of the port’s terminals reaches 9.3 million tonnes, and the existing passenger complex is capable of serving up to 0.15 million passengers per year.

STATE-RUN UKRAVTODOR RESTARTS REPAIR OF ROAD FROM IZMAIL TO VYLKOVE

The State Road Agency of Ukraine (Ukravtodor) has begun repair work on the sections of the route from Izmail to Vylkove with a length of 34 km (Odesa region).
As reported on the Ukravtodor’s Facebook page, work is currently being carried out on a ten-kilometer section from the city of Kiliya to the border of Izmail district. Arrangement of the base with crushed stone-sand mixture has already begun here.
The contractor is Rostdorstroy LLC.
It is noted that work is also carried out to develop designed-estimated documentation for the renewal of a 24 km section from Kiliya to Vylkove. The work is scheduled to begin early next year.
According to the agency, drivers will be able to use the updated route next year.
In total, in Odesa region, Ukravtodor plans to renew 194 km of roads in 2020.
Rostdorstroy along with Kyivshliakhbud are incorporated into RDS Group. The core business is construction, reconstruction and maintenance of roads and bridges, construction of airfield complexes.
As of July 2020, RDS operated in nine regions of Ukraine and had 10 production bases. In particular, the group built concrete road N-14 Kropyvnytsky – Mykolaiv, and as part of the reconstruction of road N-31 Dnipro – Reshetylivka in Poltava region the group built an overpass across the railway and a section of the first concrete road in Ukraine. In 2019, the company won a World Bank tender for work on M-03 highway of the first category Kyiv – Kharkiv – Dovzhansky.
The ultimate beneficial owners of RDS Group are Ukrainian citizens Yuriy Shumakher and Yevhen Konovalov.

STATE-RUN UKRAVTODOR STARTS REPAIRS OF IZMAIL-KILIYA-VILKOVE ROAD

The State Automobile Roads Agency of Ukraine (Ukravtodor) has begun repair work on the ten-kilometer section of the T-16-07 Izmail-Kiliya-Vilkove national road.
Ukravtodor said in its Telegram channel that work is already underway to break up the old road surface and equip the base with crushed stone-sand mixture.
The contractor for the repair work on the site is Rostdorstroy LLC.
Ukravtodor said that under the Big Construction program it is planned to restore 194 km of roads in Odesa region in 2020.
RDS Group is included in the top three road construction companies of Ukraine. It includes Kyivshliakhbud” and Rostdorstroy.

ROMANIAN COMPANY HELPS UKRAINE’S SEA PORTS AGENCY TO DREDGE OF IZMAIL AND RENI SEAPORTS

The Ukrainian Sea Ports Authority has signed an agreement with SC Complex Delta SRL (Romania) on carrying out operational dredging in the water areas of Izmail and Reni seaports following a tender conducted in then ProZorro electronic system of public procurement. “For the first time in the history of the Ukrainian Sea Ports Authority, Romanian companies came out for dredging tenders, and one of them won the tender. This indicates the quality of the procedure, its transparency and competitiveness. Now the winner company can mobilize the fleet and proceed with the work required to maintain navigational dimensions in Izmail and Reni,” head of the agency Raivis Veckagans said.
The administration said dredging will help improve the processing conditions of existing cargo flows and attract new ones, increase accepting ship and develop the business as a whole.
The cost of work under the contract will be about UAH 32 million. The total estimated volume of soil to be treated is 200,000 cubic meters, including up to 156,000 cubic meters in the water area of Izmail seaport, and up to 44,000 cubic meters in the water areas of Reni port. The planned time for dredging is not more than four months.
