NIKA-TERA SEA TERMINAL INCREASES CARGO HANDLING BY 20%

Nika-Tera sea terminal (Mykolaiv), part of Dmytro Firtash’s Group DF, handled 26 vessels in January 2020, transshipping more than 630,000 tonnes of cargo, which is almost 20% more than in January 2019.
According to the company’s website, the main cargo in the structure of cargo turnover remains grain, legumes and oilseeds with 458,200 tonnes, or 72.6% of the total transshipment, meal with 109,800 tonnes, or 17.4%, and bulk cargo with 63,000 tonnes (10%).
“Improving the efficiency of cargo operations and increasing cargo turnover are among the key performance indicators. We started the year with very good dynamics. The growth rate is plus 19.4% compared to the same period last year. The introduction of new technologies and the optimization of loading and loading processes give their results,” port director Alim Agakishiev said.
Nika-Tera is a modern highly mechanized marine terminal included in the port business of Group DF. The terminal includes four specialized complexes: a grain complex, a fertilizer transshipment complex, an open storage bulk cargo transshipment complex, and a liquid cargo transshipment complex.

NIKA-TERA SEA TERMINAL RAISES TRANSSHIPMENT OF GRAIN AND LEGUMINOUS CROPS BY 88%

Nika-Tera sea terminal (Mykolaiv) in the 2018/2019 marketing year (MY, July-June) handled 4.7 million tonnes of grain and leguminous crops, which is 88% more compared to the previous MY.
According to a report on Nika-Tera’s website, in the 2018/2019 MY the port grain transshipment items included corn (50%), wheat (34%), soybeans (8%), barley (5%), and peas (3%).
In addition, during this period, the terminal shipped 350,000 tonnes of soybeans, which is seven times more than the figure for the same period of the last marketing year.
Some 240 vessels with grain and leguminous crops were shipped for export.
During the period from July 2018 to June 2019, Nika-Tera handled 395 vessels, and the volume of transshipment amounted to 7.25 million tonnes of cargo.
As reported, in 2018 Nika-Tera seaport handled 335 vessels, transshipping 5.84 million tonnes of freight, which is 40% more than in 2017.

NIKA-TERA SEA TERMINAL RAISES CARGO HANDLING BY 57%

Nika-Tera sea terminal (Nika-Tera specialized seaport, Mykolaiv), part of Group DF belonging to Dmytro Firtash, in January-February 2019 handled more than one million tonnes of cargo, which is 56.7% more than in the same period of 2018, the press service of the company has reported.
According to the company, as of February 27, 2019, Nika-Tera port had handled more than one million tonnes of cargo, significantly exceeding the dynamics of last year’s transshipment: in January-February 2018 the port’s cargo turnover amounted to 638,000 tonnes, while the figure of the first million was reached only at the end of March.
“Nika-Tera port continues to master new technologies for receiving and transshipment of goods. Thus, in February 2019 the first train of railway platforms with specialized containers for bulk cargo transportation entered the port. In total, a batch consisting of 88 containers with corn was processed on 44 platforms with a total weight of more than 2,000 tonnes,” the press service of the port said.
To implement the new cargo handling scheme, containers were unloaded from railway platforms to container trucks inside the port.
