German Chancellor Olaf Scholz disagrees with the opposition’s assertion that the FRG is not helping Ukraine with weapons.
„We have been delivering continuously since the beginning of the war,“ he said Wednesday in the Bundestag.
„So far, we have delivered more than 15 million rounds of ammunition, 100,000 hand grenades, more than 5,000 anti-tank mines,“ the Chancellor said.
According to him, Germany also conducts relevant exchanges with other EU countries: they supply Ukraine with old-style weapons, and Germany provides these states with replacements.
„Together with Denmark, at the request of Ukraine, we delivered 54 modernized armored transporters. In the course of the first exchange with our Czech friends, Ukraine will first receive 20 T-72 tanks. We will provide the Czech Republic with a replacement,“ the politician said.
Scholz also said that an agreement on the corresponding exchange was reached with Greece.
