The negative balance of Ukraine’s foreign trade in goods in January-April 2024 increased 1.2 times compared to the same period in 2023, to $8.477 billion from $6.972 billion, the State Statistics Service (Ukrstat) reported on Friday.
According to its data, Ukraine’s exports of goods increased by 0.3% to $13.451 billion in the period under review compared to January-April 2023, while imports increased by 7.6% to $21.928 billion.
The State Statistics Service specified that in April, compared to March of this year, seasonally adjusted exports increased by 6.8% to $3.500 billion, and imports by 8% to $6.378 billion.
The seasonally adjusted foreign trade balance in April-2024 was negative and amounted to $2.878 billion, while in the previous month it was also negative – $2.626 billion.
The export-import coverage ratio for the first four months of 2024 was 0.61 (0.66 in January-April 2023).
The State Statistics Service clarified that foreign trade operations were carried out with partners from 210 countries.
