EXPERTS PREDICT GRAIN AND OILSEED HARVEST IN UKRAINE AT LEVEL OF 66 MLN TONS, WHICH IS 1.6 TIMES LESS THAN IN 2021

Ukraine in 2022 can harvest a crop of 66 million tons of grain, leguminous and oilseeds, which is 1.6 times less compared to the record harvest over the years of independence in 2021, when 106 million tons were harvested.

As reported on the website of the association Ukrainian Club of Agrarian Business (UCAB) on Thursday evening, this year it is expected to produce 50.4 million tons of grains and legumes (1.7 times less than in 2021), and 16 million tons of oilseeds ( 41.2% less),

According to her, this year the wheat harvest is expected to be 18 million tons (-44% by 2021), corn – 25.7 million tons (-39%), barley – 5.2 million tons (-55%).

As for oilseeds, in 2022 it is expected to produce 10.6 million tons of sunflower (-35% by 2021), soybeans – 3.0 million tons (-14%), rapeseed – 2.7 million tons (-22% ).

According to the UCAB, soybean and rapeseed show the lowest rates of decline in the expected gross harvest. This is due to the relatively small mass of their crop, combined with a high price for it, which facilitates logistical issues when exporting these oilseeds.

The Association emphasized that the decrease in sown area in 2022 was due to the partial occupation of part of the territory of Ukraine by Russian troops, the inability to sow in fields mined by Russians, and also due to damage to the material and technical base of Ukrainian farmers.

In addition, this year, yields are expected to decrease by about 10% due to the inability of some farms to comply with all technological procedures.

“In any case, the grown grains and oilseeds will be enough to meet the domestic needs of Ukrainians, as well as partial export sales. The main thing is that exports recover to their previous volumes, and farmers have sufficient financial resources to carry out the next sowing season,” summed up the UCAB in forecast

As reported, in 2021 Ukraine harvested a record harvest of grains, legumes and oilseeds in the amount of 106 million tons: grains and legumes – UAH 84 million and oilseeds – 22.6 million tons.

In 2020, the harvest of grains, legumes and oilseeds amounted to 84 million tons, including grains and legumes – 65.5 million tons, oilseeds – 18.5 million tons.

Registration of tax invoices, interrupted at the beginning of the war, will resume on Friday, May 27, said Daniil Getmantsev, head of the parliamentary committee on finance, tax and customs policy.
“Friends, tomorrow we are opening the registration of tax invoices. The system will operate in the pre-war regime with the reservations specified directly in the law. I urgently ask converters, individual tax specialists and other professional evaders not to count on the fact that in the conditions of war the scheme tax credit will go unnoticed,” – he wrote in Telegram on Thursday evening.
According to him, the State Tax Service will react harshly to any such attempts, “according to the laws of war with all the consequences.”
Getmantsev also appealed to businesses with a request to immediately inform them of any local distortions on the part of the tax authorities, if any.
“The tax office has an absolutely unambiguous clear task – to ensure the registration of tax invoices in full compliance with the law and the requirement of white business,” the head of the committee said.
As reported, on May 12, the Verkhovna Rada adopted a law (draft No. 7360), which, in particular, completely resumes the operation of the VAT Electronic Administration System (SEA). Registration of tax invoices, according to him, for February-May 2022 is provided until July 15 this year.
According to the document, taxpayers are exempted from liability for late reporting or payment of taxes in the period after the start of the war on February 24, if these tax obligations were fulfilled within 60 days from the date of renewal of such an opportunity. The same concessions are given to taxpayers who switched to a simplified taxation system with the payment of 2% tax.
In addition, the law resumes cameral and documentary audits of tax reporting, as well as budgetary VAT refunds, but

The Ministry of Education and Science informs that a website about the Ukrainian education system has been developed for the international educational community.

“MON, together with the Swiss-Ukrainian project DECIDE and with the support of the Swiss Embassy in Ukraine, launched the emergency.mon.gov.ua website for ministries of education, school directors and teachers in countries that have accepted Ukrainian preschoolers and schoolchildren. The resource highlights topical issues in the field of school education, as well as collected humanitarian needs that are necessary for the implementation of education in Ukraine,” the press service of the ministry said in a statement.

In particular, the site contains information about the education system in Ukraine, the features of different levels of education, a brief description of the main educational programs for grades 1-11.

In addition, in the “Webinars” section, teachers can view specialized events on the system of Ukrainian education and school programs.

Also in the section on areas of assistance to Ukrainian education, which has suffered as a result of a full-scale Russian invasion of Ukraine, the international educational community can find a list of needs and contact the Ukrainian Ministry of Education for further cooperation.
