The National Bank of Ukraine (NBU) has fined PJSC IC Kyivska Rus (Kyiv) UAH 391,000 for violating financial monitoring requirements.
According to the regulator’s website, the fine was imposed for improper fulfillment of the institution’s obligation to timely and fully provide information and/or documents, copies of documents or extracts from documents necessary to supervise the prevention and counteraction to the National Bank’s requests. As well as for the submission to the National Bank of reports on prevention and counteraction with errors
As Ukrainian News earlier reported, on May 8 the National Bank of Ukraine (NBU) applied to Kyivska Rus IC a sanction in the form of a temporary suspension of license to provide financial services in insurance due to failure to report for the first half of 2022 and for 2022, as well as the actuarial report for 2022.
The company also did not submit a report on corporate governance and information on the key risks and the results of stress testing for 2022, did not provide information and documents as required by the NBU.
The insurer has been set a deadline up to June 8, 2023 for elimination of violations.
Private JSC “IC “Kyivska Rus” performs activity in voluntary and obligatory types of insurance, other than life insurance.
According to the accounts of the insurer for nine months of 2022 the amount of insurance payments totaled 85,4 mln UAH of which 76,9 mln UAH were paid out by reinsurers. The insurer made no payments during the above period.
The Cabinet of Ministers has resumed sugar exports to Romania and set a quota for the supply of this product in the amount of 20,000 tonnes until September 15.
As the representative of the Cabinet of Ministers in the Verkhovna Rada, Taras Melnychuk, reported on his Telegram channel, the decision to amend the volume of quotas for goods which export is subject to licensing, approved by government resolution No. 1466 dated December 27, 2022 “On approval of the lists of goods, the export and import of which is subject to licensing and quotas for 2023” adopted at a government meeting on Friday.
According to the report, applications for obtaining licenses will be considered in the manner established by the Ministry of Economy, and the issuance of licenses – based on applications for obtaining licenses to export such goods to Romania and approvals by the Ministry of Agrarian Policy and Food.
Licenses will be issued within one day without the involvement of a subject of foreign economic activity as part of the interagency exchange of information.
The Ministry of Internal Affairs has fully implemented the 112 service in Kyiv – a single number for all emergencies, the ministry reports.

Reportedly, operators receive calls from citizens. The requests are then forwarded to the necessary units, which respond accordingly. “It is important that operators who speak sign language can communicate with applicants via video call. The state enterprise “Scientific-Production Association “Pavlograd Chemical Plant” (“NPO PHZ”, Dnipropetrovsk region) intends to build a new waste storage facility in Kamenskoye, Dnipropetrovsk region.
According to the documentation at the disposal of Interfax-Ukraine Agency, the proposed activities are defined by categories 1-3 “Installations for production or enrichment of nuclear fuel, facilities for reprocessing spent nuclear fuel and high-level radioactive waste, facilities for disposal of radioactive waste, storage (over 10 years) or reprocessing of spent nuclear fuel or radioactive waste outside the facility”, and also by category 1-8.1 – “Operations in the field of hazardous waste management (storage, treatment, reprocessing, storage of spent nuclear fuel and radioactive waste)”.
In this case it is specified that the activity consists in responsible management of REM (radioactively contaminated materials – IF), formed as a result of previous activities at the State Enterprise Uranium Ore Treatment Plant, their safe removal and transportation to places of storage – Phase 3 (U4.02/20) of the EU program.
The construction timeline and the amount of funds for the project are not made public.
It is also reported that this project will be handled by Limited Liability Company (LLC) Zlato-Stroy.
NPO PHZ specializes, among other things, in development of technologies for production and recycling of explosive materials and products, production of explosives, solid rocket fuel mixtures and products with them, drilling and blasting operations. The enterprise provides utilization of various types of ammunition unsuitable for storage, including solid rocket fuel (SRF).
In Ukraine, the number of rabies cases among animals has increased, the Ministry of Health forecasts an increase in the number of animal bites and appeals for anti-rabies assistance.
This was reported by Health Minister Viktor Lyashko during a meeting of the state commission on technogenic and environmental safety and emergency situations (TES and emergencies).
“There are more and more cases of rabies among animals in the country. As a consequence, an increase in the number of animal bites and people seeking anti-rabies help is possible,” the Ministry of Health said on its website.
The Ministry notes that local authorities together with the State Service for Consumer Rights Protection must take urgent measures to vaccinate and capture animals.
