UKRAINE APPLIES SANCTIONS AGAINST THOSE INVOLVED IN THE BUILDING OF A BRIDGE ACROSS THE KERCH STRAIT

The Ukrainian National Security and Defense Council (NSDC) has imposed at a session on Thursday sanctions against individuals and legal entities involved in the construction and operations of the bridge over the Kerch Strait, NSDC Secretary Oleksiy Danilov said at a briefing following the session.
The NSDC press service said later that those sanctions were imposed on six individuals and 24 legal entities.
Sanctions were also imposed on 18 people involved in the issuance of unlawful court rulings to deprive the Crimea diocese of the Orthodox Church of Ukraine of its property in the temporary occupied territories of the Autonomous Republic of Crimea and the city of Sevastopol, it said.
According to the NSDC, 52 people holding senior positions in Crimea were also sanctioned for doing considerable damage to the national interests and security of the Ukrainian people, the NSDC said.

MINERS’ WAGES RECIEVE UAH 500 MLN – ENERGY MINISTRY

The state-owned enterprise Ukrvuhillia on December 30 transferred UAH 500 million to state coal mining enterprises to pay wages to miners.
“Energoatom provided Ukrvuhillia with the corresponding funds as an interest-free financial assistance for the uninterrupted supply of coal to thermal generation facilities,” the press service of the Ukrainian Ministry of Energy said.

DRAGON CAPITAL GETS PERMIT FOR FIRST PHASE OF E40 INDUSTRIAL PARK

Dragon Capital has received permission to build a Class A warehouse complex with an area of 25,700 square meters, which is the first stage of E40 Industrial Park (Kyiv), the press service of the company said.
“We are pleased that obtaining permits for construction work in our country is becoming transparent and efficient. We were amazed when received permission from the State Inspectorate of Architecture and Urban Planning of Ukraine in just one day, submitting all the necessary documents online through the Diia portal. This is an unprecedented reform, which in itself can serve as a powerful signal for new investments in the construction sector,” Investment Director of Dragon Capital Mykhailo Sakun said.
He also expressed confidence that the significant tax incentives for residents of industrial parks, recently adopted at first reading, allow investors to see the prospects for investing in the development of industrial parks in Ukraine and create real incentives for investment in the industrial real estate sector as a whole.
E40 Industrial Park is an industrial park with a total area of 200,000 square meters, located on the 27th kilometer of the Zhytomyr highway, which is part of the European highway E40.
According to the release, E40 Industrial Park covers an area of 49 hectares and consists of nine sites, planned for storage and production facilities that meet international standards for “green” buildings BREEAM. The own management company Dragon Capital Property Management will provide centralized maintenance of infrastructure facilities and security of the park.
Sakun noted that the strategic location of the E40 park on the key international highway, close to the capital and its highly qualified personnel, the infrastructure and services of a professional developer are the key advantages of the project.
“We offer our partners both traditional lease and build-to-suit projects, that is, design and construction for the customer, which greatly simplifies the process of expansion, relocation or entry into Ukraine for industrialists, because we completely deal with all issues related to construction,” he said.

MONTENEGRO RESTRICTS ENTRY FOR UKRAINIAN CITIZENS

From Sunday, January 2, 2022, the updated border crossing conditions will come into force in Montenegro, the Ukrainian Embassy press service said.
“Now entry is allowed with one of two documents, namely confirmation of full vaccination, provided that the second dose of the vaccine was made no later than six months before entry; confirmation of the transferred COVID-19 disease (positive PCR or rapid antigen test, which must be at least ten days and no more than 180 days),” the embassy said on Facebook.
In both cases, it is also necessary to have either a negative PCR test not older than 72 hours, or a rapid antigen test not older than 48 hours.
These conditions are valid until January 12.
Previously, only a negative test was required to enter Montenegro.

THE NEW YEAR’S NIGHT IN THE «KYIVAN RUS PARK»

On the night from December, 31, 2021, from 20:00 on January, 1, 2022, in Ancient Kyiv in the Principality of Kyivan Rus («Kyivan Rus Park»), a grandiose festive entertainment program with horse performances, colorful characters, traditional medieval amusements, dances, live vocals and a fiery show will take place. From 20:00 the guests will be awaited by festive music, food points with hot dishes prepared on open fire, and the possibility to ride a horse for free. The gray-bearded magician will meet everyone at the residence of the New Year 2022 and offer to write a letter with wishes. At the tilting yard, the program will begin with the «freedom of horses» action, and after – the festive greeting from the inhabitants of Ancient Kyiv. The guests will be told a New Year’s fairy tale about horses with a presentation of breeds, and the real immersion in the medieval surroundings will be created by the torch horse riding tours.
From 22:00 the rich part of the program will begin with a bell chime, the Winter’s entry and its ascent to the throne, the arrival of three winter months and the ritual of handing over the scrolls. The guests will enjoy the New Year’s songs in «live performance», as well as the colorful photo session with fairytale and historical characters, holiday horses and the incredible entourage of the real medieval city of Kyiv with its monumental architecture.
The uniqueness of the celebration in Ancient Kiev lies in the fact that here guests not only watch the program, but they themselves are part of a bright action. Throughout the celebration, it will be possible to forget about the «constraint of modernity» and detached observation – and relax from the very heart, joining dance battles, tug-of-war, fun games, fascinating rites and master classes on medieval dances. The movement, dances and fun amusements will definitely not let anyone get bored or cold!
At midnight, the Prince of Kyiv will congratulate the guests with the most sincere and warmest congratulations on the New Year 2022 and will arrange bright fireworks over Ancient Kyiv. The program will continue with fiery songs and well-known music of the well-known performers.

POLISCHUK FROM FERREXPO APPOINTED AS INDEPENDENT NON-EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR OF DOBROBUT

Ferrexpo mining group with assets in Ukraine has appointed Natalia Polischuk, a member of the advisory board of the Dobrobut network of private medical clinics in Ukraine, as independent non-executive director to the Group’s Board of Directors.
According to the company’s press release on Thursday, Polischuk is an economist based in Kyiv, Ukraine, with over 25 years of experience working in the finance sector in both Ukraine and more widely in Eastern Europe, with a number of senior roles at private equity funds in the region, as well as directorships.
Most recently, Polischuk spent seven years heading up the Ukraine office of Advent International, a global private equity firm, developing transactions for the firm’s $1 billion fund focused on Central and Eastern Europe.
Since 2018, Polischuk has served on the Advisory Board of Dobrobut (Ukraine), a private healthcare clinic network provider in Ukraine, and until 2020 she was also a board member and treasurer of Lycée Français Anne de Kyiv, a public co-educational international day school in Kyiv. In recent years, Polischuk has acted as an independent advisor on a number of M&A and due diligence projects in Ukraine.
Polischuk holds a Masters in Business Administration (MBA) from Harvard Business School, Boston, and a Bachelor of Arts degree in Economics from the University of Kyiv-Mohyla Academy, Kyiv (Ukraine).
Chair of Ferrexpo Lucio Genovese pointed to Polischuk’s rich financial experience, as well as a strong understanding of the business landscape within Ukraine.
“Following the appointment of Polischuk, the Group’s Board will comprise eight directors, three of which are female, with this appointment also increasing the Group’s number of independent directors to five,” Genovese said.
Ferrexpo is an iron ore company with assets in Ukraine. According to the company’s presentation, as of October 31, 2020, Fevamotinico S.a.r.l., controlled by Kostiantyn Zhevaho, owns 50% of Ferrexpo, BlackRock holds 4%, Schroders – 4%, Acadian – 3% and M&G also 3%.
Ferrexpo owns 100% of shares in Poltava Mining, 100% in Yeristovo Mining and 99.9% in Belanovo Mining.
