PRESIDENT OF UKRAINE SIGNS DECREE ON SANCTIONS AGAINST RUSSIAN ENTERPRISES

President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky by decree put into effect the decision of the National Security and Defense Council (NSDC) to impose personal economic sanctions against Russian enterprises and organizations, the presidential press service said. The decision to impose sanctions against Russian enterprises, companies, organizations was made by the NSDC on December 30, 2021. Zelensky on January 21, by decree No.19, put into effect the NSDC decision.
As noted, some 24 enterprises fell under the sanctions. They have the same restrictions. In particular, this is the freezing of assets, the restriction of trade operations, the prevention of the withdrawal of capital from Ukraine, suspension of the fulfillment of economic and financial obligations, cancellation or suspension of licenses and permits, the receipt (availability) of which is a condition for the implementation of a certain type of activity.
The list included such enterprises as JSC Lenpromtransproekt, JSC Insurance Business Group, Gas JSC Industry Insurance Company, JSC Grand Service Express Transport Company, JSC Giproshakht, JSC Russian Institute of Urban Planning and Investment Development “Giprogor,” COOP HIMMELB(L)AU Wolf D. Prix & Partner ZT GmbH, ALARM911 Neva LLC, Geozemstroy LLC, Krymsetenergoproekt LLC, Research Institute of Diagnostics LLC, Research Institute of Perspective Urban Planning LLC, Nivad LLC, SIRIUS Project LLC, Transproekt LLC, Tyus Management Group LLC, Transstroy Holding Company LLC, Federal Target Program”Modernization of the Russian Transport System of Russia,” the Federal State Enterprise “Departmental storage of railway transport of the Russian Federation,” Federal State Enterprise “Departmental Security Department of the Ministry of Transport of the Russian Federation,” Fund for Social and Cultural Projects “National Cultural Heritage,” Autonomous NGO for the Promotion of Activities “Russian Seasons,” State Autonomous Institution of the City of Sevastopol “Development Center tourism.”

WORLD ECONOMIC FORUM TO TAKE PLACE ON MAY IN DAVOS

The annual meeting of the World Economic Forum (WEF) will be held on May 22-26 in Davos after a two-year hiatus prompted by Covid-19.
Topics on the agenda will include the pandemic recovery, tackling climate change, building a better future for work, accelerating stakeholder capitalism, and harnessing the technologies of the Fourth Industrial Revolution, the WEF said in a statement.
“After all the virtual meetings taking place in the last two years, leaders from politics, business and civil society have to convene finally in person again. We need to establish the atmosphere of trust that is truly needed to accelerate collaborative action and to address the multiple challenges we face,” Founder and Executive Chairman of the World Economic Forum Klaus Schwab was quoted as saying in the statement.

GLOVO COURIER DELIVERY SERVICE ACQUIRES COMPETITOR

Glovo courier delivery service is acquiring the Ukrainian company Zakaz (product delivery service Zakaz.ua), the main co-owner of which is Chernovetskyi Investment Group.
According to AIN.UA, Glovo has agreed to take over Zakaz.ua, payments to shareholders will be made both in cash and directly in Glovo shares, the deal is valued at up to $50 million.
As it became known to Interfax-Ukraine, Glovo plans to announce the takeover of the Zakaz.ua service at a press conference on January 27.
Interfax-Ukraine has not yet been able to get comments from Chernovetskyi Investment Group.
Market participants said the takeover of Zakaz.ua will strengthen Glovo’s position in the Ukrainian market and help the service develop the Q-commerce segment (delivery from dark stores).

UKRAINE IMPOSES SANCTIONS AGAINST AUSTRIAN ARCHITECTURAL BUREAU

Ukraine has imposed sanctions against the Austrian architectural bureau “Coop Himmelb(l)au,” which developed the project for an opera house in Sevastopol, temporarily occupied by Russia.
The decree on the entry into force of the decision of the National Security and Defense Council (NSDC) of December 30, 2021 was signed by President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky on January 21.
Personal sanctions have been imposed against founder and CEO of the architectural office Wolf Prix, and its five managers and employees (citizens of Austria).
Assets are blocked for five years, the right to use and dispose of their property is temporarily restricted. It also provides for a denial of visas, the application of other prohibitions on entry into the territory of Ukraine, a ban on participation in privatization, lease of state property.
Another decree put into effect the decision of the National Security and Defense Council, which, in particular, imposed sanctions against the Russian Artemy Lebedev.
In addition, personal sanctions have been imposed on Yury Chaika, authorized representative of the Russian President in the North Caucasus Federal District.

PRESIDENT’S OFFICE PLANS TO REBOOT UKRFINZHYTLO

The Office of the President is planning a large-scale reboot of the Ukrainian Financial Housing Company (UkrFinZhytlo), Deputy Head of the Presidential Office Rostyslav Shurma has said.
“Our goal is to make an accessible and understandable mortgage product with an effective cost of about 5% per annum in hryvnia in three to four months… As for instruments, we are planning a large-scale restart of UkrFinZhytlo as one of the main drivers of mortgage lending,” he said during the 2022 – Time to Lend forum on Friday.
According to Shurma, UkrFinZhytlo should work both directly and in partnership with banks.
Oleksiy Kireev will head UkrFinZhytlo, Shurma added.
“We plan to launch a whole block of programs to support different sectors of the economy in different priority areas in 2022,” the deputy head of the President’s Office said.
As reported, on December 24, the Ministry of Finance terminated the powers of the head and members of UkrFinZhytlo, Viktor Katrenych, Liudmyla Shemelynets and Natalia Marchenko. On January 14, the duties of the head of the board were assigned to the director of the legal department, Dmytro Verbytsky.

THE GOVERNMENT REGULATES THE OPERATION OF THE MEDDATA MEDICAL PROCUREMENT MONITORING SYSTEM

The Cabinet of Ministers has regulated the operation of the MedData information and analytical system, which allows monitoring data on procurement and provision of medical institutions with goods and services purchased at the expense of budgetary funds.
According to the relevant government resolution adopted on January 19, the government is the owner of the system, the Ministry of Health is the owner of the information, and the state-owned enterprise Medical Procurement of Ukraine is the holder and administrator of the system.
At the same time, Medical Procurement of Ukraine ensures the functioning, implementation, support and maintenance of the system, as well as monitoring and analysis of the quality of its functioning.
In addition, Medical Procurement of Ukraine provides for information interaction with public electronic information resources, information protection from unauthorized access, technical support for the operation of hardware and software resources, user access to information in the system, compatibility and electronic interaction with the central database and/or electronic medical information systems.
