In addition, the ceremony was attended by Secretary of the National Security and Defense Council (NSDC) of Ukraine Oleksiy Danilov; First Sea Lord of Great Britain, Admiral Tony Radakin and British Ambassador to Ukraine Melinda Simmons.
The ceremony participants watched the joint exercises of the Ukrainian, British and U.S. servicemen aboard the warship.
The HMS DEFENDER destroyer arrived in Odesa last Friday, June 18. This is the second Royal Navy warship to visit Odesa in the last few weeks, after HMS TRENT.

OKKO Group plans to install solar power plants at more than 80 fuel filling stations, founder of the holding Vitaliy Antonov said on his Facebook page.
He also informed about the opening of a solar power plant at a fuel station in Odesa at 2a Pestelia Street.
“For the Ukrainian fuel retail, this is a unique project. Both from an architectural and engineering point of view. We do not just have solar panels on the roof here. They themselves are a roof. Some 316 panels with a total area of more than 600 square meters convert ultraviolet light into useful energy,” he said.
He clarified that thanks to its own generation, the new filling station will be able to independently cover up to 70% of its electricity needs, and in warm weather – 100%.
“And I want to note that we approach cooperation with the sun systematically,” Antonov emphasized.
The OKKO filling station network (Galnaftogaz Concern) is a part of OKKO Group and is one of the largest filling networks in Ukraine, numbering 413 fuel filling complexes. The structure of the company also includes Ukraine’s largest network of food outlets on the road operating under the brands Hot café, A la minute, Pasta Mia and Meiwei, as well as the specialized operator OKKO Agrotrade, engaged in the development of the agricultural direction.
The company’s divisions are engaged in the sale of goods through stores at filling stations, the sale of petroleum products in large and small wholesale, provide services for the examination of the quality of fuel, storage and transportation of petroleum products. The OKKO network has ten own oil depots, one gas pumping station, 19 stationary and mobile laboratories for quality control of petroleum products.
The shareholder and institutional investor of the company is the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development.
Ukraine and Malaysia are planning to hold a meeting of the joint trade committee in autumn, which, subject to favorable epidemiological conditions, will take place in the Malaysian capital Kuala Lumpur, Deputy Economy Minister and Trade Representative of Ukraine Taras Kachka said.
“We are preparing an inaugural meeting of the joint trade committee with Malaysia,” the trade representative said on Facebook on Friday.
“Yesterday we had a friendly and fruitful conversation with a colleague, Deputy Minister of International Trade and Industry of Malaysia, Senator Lim Ban Hong. We agreed that under any conditions the meeting will be held this autumn,” he said.
Among the issues to be discussed are food security (agricultural trade), product certification (halal) and cooperation in the aerospace industry, Kachka said. Separately, he noted the need to discuss logistics and the use of ports to enhance trade in the region.
The company for the production of Ukrainian drag bikes Delfast plans to increase the percentage of localization of the production of electric bikes (e-bikes) in Ukraine in 2022 by launching its own plant.
“We plan to reach 51% of localization in Ukraine in a year. This already will be a bike completely made in Ukraine. Then, gradually, as we develop, we will increase the percentage of localization and everything that we can – from the point of view of economic efficiency – we will produce ourselves,” Delfast co-founder Danylo Tonkopiy told reporters during the iForum 2021 in Kyiv on Friday.
According to him, the main reasons for opening a plant in Ukraine are localization, quality control and economy.
“We are signing an agreement with Kyiv Radio Plant and its successor Elmiz company. We intend to cooperate with them in many ways. This is not only the lease of premises – they develop future equipment for us, carry out assembly. The most important thing is that they have experience: they make electric cars, charging stations for electric vehicles and they were also interested in partnership with us,” Tonkopiy emphasized.
He also said that manufacturing in China cannot provide the company with the required level of product quality, since the borders of China are closed, and Delfast cannot send engineers there.
“We need to have a high speed of implementation of changes in production, high speed of development, high speed of response to customer requests,” said the co-founder of the company.
In addition, according to Delfast’s calculations, the production of e-bikes in Ukraine will cost the company less.
“Let me give you an example: a frame made in China will cost us $250. And our partners in Dnipro produce the first samples for the same price, but as production increases, the price will decrease. As a result, the savings can be up to 30%,” he said.
As reported, earlier Delfast began looking for investors in order to launch a full localization of the production of electric bikes in Ukraine.
