UKRAINE BOOSTS PIPE EXPORT TO $430 MLN IN JAN-JULY 2019

Ukraine in January-July 2019 increased steel pipe exports by 4% compared to the same period in 2018, to 397,400 tonnes from 382,500, up to $430.8 million, according to a report of the state-owned enterprise Derzhzovnishinform.
Export of seamless pipes in in physical term grew by 7.3%, up to 289,600 tonnes (by 4% in monetary terms, to $364.3 million), export of big-diameter pipes was 2.9 times up, to 11,400 tonnes (by 2.3 times to $8.2 million), meanwhile exports of welded pipes dropped by 11.1%, to 96,600 tonnes (by 18.9% in monetary terms up to $58.3 million).
According to the results of the seven months ending July 2019, the volume of export of rolled stock increased by 4.5%, to 5.704 tonnes. However, exports of rolled stock in monetary term decreased by 6.5%, to $2.676 billion. In particular, the export of flat stock saw 6.9% rise, up to 3.191 million (3.6% down in monetary terms to $1.631 billion), the export of bolt stock saw 0.3% rise, by 1.71 million (11.6% down in monetary terms up to $934.2 million), flat stock saw 4.4% rise, to 169,600 tonnes (3.1% down in monetary terms, to $111.66 million).

UKRAINIAN PRESIDENT INVITES TURKISH BUSINESSES TO INVEST IN UKRAINE

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky has invited Turkish businesses to invest in projects in Ukraine, including in rebuilding infrastructure in its east, Donbas.
“I am pleased to invite Turkish businesses to visit us in Ukraine. I personally act as a guarantor of your comfortable work in Ukraine. Let’s grow together,” he said at a joint press conference following talks with President of the Republic of Turkey Recep Tayyip Erdogan in Ankara on Wednesday evening.
Zelensky also said that he had invited the Turkish side to take part in rebuilding infrastructure facilities in eastern Ukraine.
“We expect the Turkish side to actively participate in an international forum for the restoration of Donbas, which we plan to hold in Mariupol this autumn,” he said.
By the end of the year, Kyiv will host the next, 8th meeting of the Ukrainian-Turkish high-level strategic council, he added.

BORYSPIL INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT (KYIV) TOPS RATING OF ACI EUROPE AMONG AIRPORTS FOR 10-25 MLN PASSENGERS

Boryspil International Airport (Kyiv) in the second quarter and June 2019 topped the rating of ACI Europe among airports for 10-25 million passengers.
Boryspil airport said on Facebook the leading result was provided by the positive dynamics of growth in passenger traffic of 23.7% and 27.6% respectively. At the same time, in the first half of the year Boryspil International Airport ranked second, following Berlin Airport.
ACI Europe monthly compiles a rating of airports by passenger traffic, analyzing data from more than 230 European airports.
Airports Council International (ACI) is the only worldwide professional association of airportoperators. It is divided into the following branches: ACI Europe, ACI Africa, ACI Asia, ACI Latin American/Caribbean, ACI North America, and ACI Pacific.
The goals of the ACI are to represent the interests of member airports of the organization, search for ways of their cooperation with airlines and other partners to create the conditions necessary for the successful functioning of the entire industry, to promote the interests of airport operators in regulatory bodies and legislative structures, as well as in circles that influence the formation of public opinion about airport business.
