“Shlyakhrembud” will insure motor transport in “VUSO”

The municipal contracting specialized enterprise for repair and construction of roads in Kharkiv “Shlyakhrembud” on February 21 announced its intention to conclude a contract with IC “VUSO” (Kiev) for the purchase of services of compulsory insurance of civil liability (OSAGO).

According to the message in the system of electronic public procurement Prozorro, the expected cost of the purchase of services amounted to UAH 1.866 million, the company’s price offer of UAH 807,210 thousand.

The tender was also attended by insurance companies “Guardian” with the offer of UAH 807,211 thousand, “Oranta” – UAH 807,212 thousand, “Arsenal Insurance”- UAH 1,395 million, SG “TAS”- UAH 1,682 million.

IC “VUSO” was founded in 2001. The company holds 50 licenses: 34 – for voluntary and 16 – for compulsory types of insurance. It is represented in all regions of Ukraine. It is a member of ITSBU and UFS, a participant of the Agreement on direct settlement of losses and a member of the Nuclear Insurance Pool.

Ukraine’s deputy prime minister says working with US and European regulators on opening of airspace

Ukraine is holding consultations with American and European security regulators over the opening of airspace, said Deputy Prime Minister for Recovery – Minister of Community Development, Territories and Infrastructure Oleksandr Kubrakov.

“We are consulting with American and European security regulators over the opening of airspace. A complex process, but the first formal steps Ukraine is taking now. Already in these weeks we are submitting formal applications, risk assessment to the relevant regulators,” – said Deputy Prime Minister at the forum “Ukraine. Year 2024” on Sunday.

The construction of euro track from state border with Poland to Lviv will start in 2024

Construction of the railway section Mostiska-Skniliv from the state border with Poland to Lviv will start this year, said Deputy Prime Minister for recovery – Minister of community development, territories and infrastructure Oleksandr Kubrakov.

“Construction of the first large section of the European gauge, Mostyska-Skniliv. We will connect our railroad with the European network. This is the first project, we will build it already this year together with European partners and donors,” he told at the forum “Ukraine. Year 2024” on Sunday.

In addition, this year it is planned to open several checkpoints for road transport on the border with Moldova, Romania, Hungary and Poland. The process of modernization of 23 checkpoints by the efforts of the Restoration Agency is also ongoing, Kubrakov added.

As reported, the construction of a narrow Euroway (1435 mm) on the Mostiska-Skniliv direction was planned to start back in 2020. Also in 2020, the government included this project in the list of priority investment projects until 2023. The project is estimated at $20.8 million.

Ukrzaliznytsia planned to complete work on the track construction project by the end of 2023.

No electricity deficit in Ukraine – Ministry of Energy

There is no shortage of electricity in Ukraine, with 19 generating units of thermal power plants in reserve in the energy system, which will be used if necessary, the Energy Ministry said. According to its update in its Telegram channel on Sunday, electricity imports of 425 MWh are forecast for the current day, up a third from Saturday, and exports of 2,300 MWh are expected, down 6% from yesterday’s figure.

At the same time because of the hostilities remain without light, in particular, more than 43 thousand consumers in 75 settlements of Donetsk region, 25.8 thousand consumers in 45 settlements of Kherson region, 15.5 thousand subscribers in 63 settlements of Kharkiv region, 1119 consumers in 17 settlements of Chernihiv region. In Kherson without voltage – 12.6 thousand consumers. In addition, after shelling from the Russian border 1229 consumers in 6 settlements of Sumy region were de-energized. Repair crews will start work as soon as the security situation allows.

There are also blackouts for technological reasons: almost 5 thousand consumers were left without light in Kyiv region, where 2 overhead lines 10 kV were disconnected, more than 400 consumers – in Odessa region, where 10 kV overhead line was disconnected, and 899 consumers in Sumy region.

As noted by the Ministry of Energy, over the day the energy sector energized 10.4 thousand consumers, most of them in Donetsk region – 9.5 thousand subscribers.

Power supply was also resumed to 405 household and 41 legal consumers in five settlements of Mykolayiv region, which were disconnected due to the fall of debris from a downed UAV on an overhead power line.

As for the situation with gas supply, the Energy Ministry once again reports accidents due to improper use of the resource. Thus, in Kryvyi Rih, according to the preliminary version, due to carbon monoxide poisoning, a woman and a man died. In one of the settlements of Brovarsky district of Kyiv region, probably carbon monoxide poisoned three residents of a private house, but they are in satisfactory condition.

In Dnipro, as a result of a traffic accident, a low-pressure gas pipeline was damaged, there was a gas leak, 22 consumers were disconnected from its distribution.

In Lviv, unknown persons shut off the tap at the gas pipeline inlet to an apartment building – gas supply to 123 apartments was cut off.

As a result of shelling damaged gas distribution networks in Kharkiv region, disconnected 6 consumers.

Businesses more concerned about health and psychological state of employees – American Chamber of Commerce

Employee health and mental well-being, as well as attracting and retaining top talent, have risen from third to second and from sixth to fourth place in the list of key challenges facing companies over the past six months, according to a survey of its members by the American Chamber of Commerce (AmCham) in Ukraine.

According to the survey, 70% of respondents mentioned health and psychological issues, up from 65% six months ago, and 56% of top employees, up from 43%.

Employee safety and security remains a key challenge, but its “rating” has dropped from 91% to 85%, while Russia’s missile attacks on critical infrastructure and business assets have dropped from 66% to 61%, moving it to third place.

The challenge of economic and consumer recession has also dropped to fifth from fourth, but 54% of respondents mentioned it, compared to 45% six months ago.

While in early fall, the top five expected problems were access to electricity, water and heat supply, and mobile communications with a 44% share, now it is not even among the top 11.

At the same time, logistics and transportation problems have become a concern for 43% of respondents, up from 30% six months ago, regulatory challenges – 39% instead of 23%, and pressure on business from government agencies – 28% instead of 23%.

Among the top three priority steps that businesses would like to see the government take, the top three are real and effective judicial reform (22%), ensuring a clear and transparent booking procedure (22%), and strengthening national security and defense and de-mining of Ukraine (21%).

Less frequently, company representatives chose to ensure predictability and stability of tax legislation (14%), protect supply chains by addressing the situation with border logistics and maritime transportation (7%), ease currency restrictions on repatriation of dividends and/or payment of interest on foreign loans (6%), and expand insurance coverage of political risks (3%).

According to the survey, 86% of companies are fully operational, 12% of the surveyed companies continue to operate partially, and 2% do not operate at all, while 84% were fully operational six months ago.

58% of all respondents had no damage to their property during the two years of Russia’s full-scale invasion of Ukraine, 7% had their assets occupied, and 30% had their companies’ plants/factories/ facilities/warehouses/offices damaged: 75% of them have minor damage, 25% have irreparable damage.

According to the survey, 84% of AmCham member companies in Ukraine have employees in the Armed Forces of Ukraine. In 31% of companies, employees were wounded, 29% were killed in action, and 2% were missing.

“Despite the difficulties, the business community, inspired by brave defenders, continues to work and believe in Ukraine, supporting the economy, paying taxes and creating jobs for Ukrainians. 86% of member companies are fully operational after two years of full-scale war in Russia. Security and judicial reform are the highest priorities for business,” commented AmCham President Andy Hunder.

The survey, conducted from February 12-22, 2024, involved 125 CEOs and top managers of AmCham member companies.
