Ukraine’s GDP in January-March 2018 grew by 3.1% year-over-year, the State Statistics Service of Ukraine reported.
The deficit of Ukraine’s balance of foreign trade in Q1 2018 totaled $134.9 million, while in Q1 2017 the surplus was $126.1 million, the State Statistics Service reported.The Ukrainian government has approved a list of large enterprises for privatization in 2018. It includes 26 enterprises: five regional electricity supply companies, Centrenergo, Odesa Port-Side Plant, Turboatom, Zaporizhia Titanium and Magnesium Combine, United Mining-Chemical Company and Sumykhimprom.
Capital investments in Ukraine in 2017 amounted to UAH 448.462 billion (excluding the temporarily occupied territories of Crimea, Sevastopol, and Donbas).
The deficit of Ukraine’s foreign trade with goods in January-March 2018 grew 1.5-fold year-over-year, reaching $1.201 billion ($794.1 million in Q1 2017), the State Statistics Service reported.
The surplus of Ukraine’s foreign trade in services in January-March 2018 increased by 16% compared to 2016, to $1.461 billion (in January-March 2017 some $1.259 billion), the State Statistics Service has said.
The growth of consumer prices in Ukraine in April 2018 was 0.8% compared to 1.1% in March, 0.9% in February and 1.5% in January, the State Statistics Service of Ukraine has said.
Prices in the industry of Ukraine in April 2018 remained unchanged after growth by 0.3% in March, 1.2% in February and4.4% in January, the State Statistics Service has reported.
Revenue of Ukraine’s national budget in April 2018 totaled UAH 78.87 billion, which is UAH 1.67 billion or 2.2% more than the target, the State Treasury Service of Ukraine reported on its website.
The National Bank of Ukraine (NBU) confirmed the forecast for 2018 inflation at 8.9% in April.

Industrial production in Ukraine in April 2018 increased by 3% compared with April 2017, while the figure in March 2018 year-over-year was 1%, it was 1.9% in February 2018 and 3.6% in January 2018, the State Statistics Service said.
The volume of sold industrial products (goods, services) in January-March 2018 stood at UAH 621.436 billion, which is 16.7% more than in January-March 2017, in particular the volume sold abroad was worth UAH 166.784 billion, the State Statistics Service has reported.
The consumer confidence of Ukrainians improved in April 2018: the Consumer Confidence Index equals 61.3, which is 3.7 points higher than the indicator in March 2018, GfK Ukraine has said in its monthly study.
Ukraine’s retail trade turnover in January-April 2018 increased by 7% in comparable prices in comparison with January-April 2017, the State Statistics Service has said.
Stolitsa Group investment and developing company, which is part of Lithuania’s BT Invest, jointly with Colliers International (Ukraine) has finished the restyling of the food court and restaurant zone in the Retroville shopping and entertainment center located at 47, Pravdy Avenue in Kyiv. The mall will be opened in 2019. “Together with colleagues, we have analyzed the shopping and entertainment centers in Kyiv, including the mistakes made by developers in the planning of food court zones and the location of restaurants. With extensive experience in the development and management of the shopping and entertainment centers in the Baltic states and Kazakhstan, we tried to implement the best ideas and carried out a complete renovation of the project catering zone at the Retroville shopping mall. This process included an increase in the number of operators representing a variety of cuisines, as well as an increase in the sitting area of the food court to 1,800 square meters, which today is the largest sitting zone among shopping centers of Kyiv,” Colliers International said in a press release, citing the Retroville director general.
According to the report, the sitting zone will be located on the second floor along the glass facade of the center.
According to Natalia Kravets, Director of the commercial real estate department at Colliers International (Ukraine), the tender to select operators has already been launched and anchor tenants have been identified both in the area of the food court (about 15 operators, including McDonald’s) and in the restaurant zone.
Colliers International earlier reported that the opening of the Retroville shopping center with a gross area of 118,900 square meters with an eleven-story class B business center in Kyiv was postponed from August 2018 to early 2019.
Holding the final of the UEFA Champions League in Kyiv, which took place on May 26, will lead to an increase in the flow of foreign tourists to the Ukrainian capital, the Kyiv City State Administration has said. “To date, we expect an increase in the tourist flow due to this sporting holiday. In 2016 Kyiv hosted 1.3 million foreigners, in 2017 – 1.6 million. We also associate this with the Eurovision song contest. Therefore, such an event as the Champions League final will definitely bring an additional effect,” Deputy Head of the Kyiv City State Administration Oleksiy Reznikov said at a press conference in Kyiv.
He noted that 180 hotels for 20,000 people had been completely redeemed for the Champions League final six months before the match. In addition, according to him, on the initiative of Kyiv citizens, foreign fans lived free of charge in about 2,000 households. “We have already paid UAH 14 million of hotel fees for five months of this year. So, we expect about UAH 30 million only for hotel fees,” Reznikov said.
The Boryspil airport has serviced a record number of passengers during the final of the UEFA Champions League in Kyiv – almost 53,000 people. “On that day we serviced 52,599 passengers, which is the absolute record in the history of the Boryspil airport. For comparison, we had 38,000 passengers during the Euro-2012 final. Last year we once hit the mark of 40,000 passengers,” Director General of the airport Pavlo Riabikin said at a press conference in Kyiv on Wednesday.
He said that on May 26, the airport serviced 31 charter flights with 6,393 fans of Real and fans of Liverpool used 40 flights (8,822 passengers). There were three flights with official delegations of the King of Spain, the prime minister of Gabon and the president of the Czech Republic, and 72 flights were additionally serviced. Riabikin said that the airport additionally earned UAH 31.5 million of net profit on that day.
