BRUSSELS AIRLINES LAUNCHES REGULAR FLIGHTS BETWEEN KYIV AND BRUSSELS

Brussels Airlines (Belgium) from October 17, 2018 will launch regular flights between Kyiv and Brussels, the airline has said. “Due to visa liberalization in Ukraine and the policy of the country close to the EU, during the last two years the demand for flights between Kyiv and Brussels has increased significantly. In order to meet the growing demand, Brussels Airlines launches direct air connection between Kyiv and Brussels and offers four flights a week,” the report says.
According to the press service of the air carrier, flights will be performed on board Airbus aircraft four times a week on Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays, and Sundays.
Brussels Airlines is the largest airline and national air carrier of Belgium. It is a subsidiary of Lufthansa, which owns 45% of SN Airholding, which owns Brussels Airlines.

CHINESE ANHUI COMPANY INTERESTED IN BUILDING INDUSTRIAL PARK IN ODESA REGION

China’s Anhui Conch Cement Company Limited is interested in building a cement plant, a construction materials park and investing in tourism. The press service of the Odesa Regional Council reported that the issues were discussed at a meeting of Chairman of the Odesa Regional Council Anatoliy Urbansky with representatives of Chinese business. A delegation from China included the commercial consul of the General Consulate of China in Odesa, representatives of Anhui Conch Cement Company Limited and the Ukrainian branch of China Metallurgical Construction Engineering Group Co., Ltd. The Odesa Regional Council expressed its readiness to consider all investment proposals of Chinese businessmen.
China Metallurgical Construction Engineering Group is a large company in China. It is involved in construction of industrial and civil facilities in China and abroad. Anhui Conch Cement Company Limited produces and sells cement and commodity clinker. Its products are exported to over 20 countries, including the United States and the EU.

PREPARATION OF FTA BETWEEN UKRAINE AND ISRAEL TO BE COMPLETED IN COMING WEEKS – PARUBIY

Ukraine and Israel will complete the preparation of a free trade agreement (FTA) in the coming weeks, Verkhovna Rada Speaker Andriy Parubiy has said during a meeting with Speaker of the Knesset Yuli-Yoel Edelstein in Israel.
“Now the matter actually concerns weeks when the work on this agreement is technically completed and when both Ukraine and Israel are able to ratify this agreement. I am sure this will be a very important step in the economic relations between Ukraine and Israel. This is our near-term prospect,” Parubiy said.
According to the speaker of the Ukrainian parliament, he and his Israeli counterpart agreed to make efforts for the parliaments of the two countries to ratify the document as soon as possible.
In addition, the speakers discussed cooperation of the two countries in the field of security and defensive weapons.
“This is one of the topics on which certain agreements were reached, which will be implemented after our meetings,” he said.
As reported, Parubiy is on an official visit to the State of Israel (Tel-Aviv) on May 29-31.

SUMY REGION BECOMES 12TH ON LIST OF ‘DIGITIZED’ REGIONS OF UKRAINE BY GOOGLE

The Digital Transformation of Sumy region campaign from Google Ukraine has become the 12th digitalization event after Kyiv, Lviv and nine more regions, the company has said in a report.
The Digital Transformation of Sumy region campaign was conducted by Google Ukraine in cooperation with Sumy Regional Administration and it is intended to increase investment and tourism attractiveness of the region.
“An important component of the campaign was a series of educational projects for representatives of local government, small and medium-sized businesses, government officials, teachers and students on the basics of digital literacy and Internet security,” the report says.
Under the project, the special website “Discover Sumy region” contains information on the most interesting tourist sites in the region. This resource has replenished previously created regional projects on the discover.net.ua portal and contains 3D panoramas and 3D tours of the most interesting places in the region.
In particular, you can take a virtual walk through the Golitsyn’s Palace and the “Round Yard” Manor in Trostianets, see a unique 220-year-old apple tree in the town of Krolevets and explore the architectural complex of the Orthodox male Sofroniivskyi Monastery.
