UKRAINIAN FARMERS’ DEMAND FOR MINERAL FERTILIZERS MET BY 79% NOW

Ukrainian farmers as of March 2, 2018, had been provided with mineral fertilizers for the spring sowing campaign by 79% with 788,000 tonnes available together with ending stocks.
As of the same date in 2017, farmers had 83% of the needed amount of mineral fertilizers, the Ukrainian Ministry of Agrarian Policy and Food has said.
To protect plants from weeds, diseases and pests, producers assessed their needs in the first half of 2018 at 30,100 tonnes of pesticides (28,600 tonnes in 2017), including 19,800 tonnes of herbicides.
Farmers as of March 2 had bought 16,800 tonnes of plant protection chemicals (56% of the demand), including 11,100 tonnes of herbicides (56%).
“Agricultural producers’ technological demand for fuel for the period of spring field work in 2018 is estimated at 404,000 tonnes of diesel fuel and 92,000 tonnes of petrol. As of March 2, they had bought 273,000 tonnes of diesel fuel and 62,000 tonnes of petrol, which is 68% and 67% of the demand,” the ministry said.

ESTONIA’S SILVANO FASHION GROUP SEES 58% RISE IN SALES IN UKRAINE

AS Silvano Fashion Group (SFG, Tallinn), engaged in tailoring and sale of lingerie under the Milavitsa, Alisee, Lauma and Laumelle brands, saw a 58.8% rise in sales in Ukraine in 2017, to UAH 75.2 million.
The company said in a report on the Warsaw Stock Exchange (WSE) on Friday that its revenue grew by 52.5% in foreign currency, to EUR 2.53 million.
According to the report, the franchise shop chain in Ukraine remained unchanged in Ukraine – 50 shops.
In 2016, sales in Ukraine fell by 19.4%, to EUR 1.66 million and in hryvnias – by 3.5%, to UAH 47.37 million.
Ukraine’s share of total revenue last year was 4.1% compared with 2.9% a year ago.
SFG said that its sales grew by 7.7% in 2017, to EUR 62.35 million.

HUNGARY’S WIZZ AIR TO LAUNCH KHARKIV-VIENNA FLIGHTS

Hungary’s low cost airline Wizz Air from November 25, 2018 will start servicing flights from Kharkiv to Vienna twice a week – on Wednesdays and Sundays.
The press service of the airline reported that from March 23, 2019 the frequency of the flights will be increased to three times a week, and the flights will be serviced on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays.
Ukrainian passengers who plan to travel to Austria can book tickets on the airline’s website. The fares start from UAH 1,009/EUR 29.99.
According to the report, this year Wizz Air will resume flights from the Kharkiv International Airport on the recently announced routes to Dortmund and Katowice, and also expand its route network from Lviv to Dortmund, Gdansk, Katowice and London. In addition, the third airplane Airbus A320 will be added to the Kyiv base, thanks to which flights of the airline will connect Kyiv with 21 destinations in 10 countries, taking into account new directions to Tallinn and Lisbon.

EXPRESS DELIVERY COMPANY NOVA POSHTA SEEKS TO OPEN 1,000 DEPARTMENTS

Nova Poshta, a leader in express delivery in Ukraine, plans to open 1,000 departments in 2018, the founder of the company, Viacheslav Klimov said during the opening of a sorting center of the company in Kyiv on Friday.
According to him, this year it is planned to open 400 own departments in big cities and 400 partners’ branches in small towns.
“Another 200 are existing departments that will change the location, or will be significantly improved,” Klimov said.
In addition, the company plans to install in 300 pick-up and drop-off points in 115 own departments.
Klimov recalled that today the company’s network has about 2,300 departments.
He also reminded that earlier Nova Posta had signed a cooperation agreement with the international company DPD, and intends to actively develop this cooperation in 2018.
“A joint project that will connect our networks is on the way, and 28,000 DPD offices in Europe will be available to Ukrainians,” he said.

REIKARTZ HOTEL GROUP LAUNCHES NEW HOTEL

Reikartz Hotel Management LLC (Kyiv), a managing company of the Reikartz Hotel Group, has started developing a new brand – Reikartz Collection Hotel of the four plus and five star segments. The hotels will be located in large cities and resorts of Ukraine.
The press service of Reikartz Hotel Group reported that recently the Milano four-star hotel joined the Reikartz chain under the new brand. The hotel was opened early 2017. The facility is now named Hotel Milano by Reikartz Collection. The hotel has 39 rooms and a restaurant.
CEO of Reikartz Hotel Group Sebastian Kremer said that in April the company plans to expand the number of rooms in the hotel by 40 and open 20 more rooms and a multifunctional conference hall by late 2018. By the end of this year the number of rooms would grow to 99.
Reikartz plans to open hotels under the Reikartz Collection Hotel in other cities of the country.
As of March 2, 2018, the brand unites two hotels in Odesa and Dnipro.
