UKRAINIAN BANK TO BUILD 110 KV SUBSTATION IN KIEV ON OSOKORKY DISTRICT

Bank Arcada will build a substation of 110 kV in the Osokorky area in Kyiv by the end of 2018, the press service of power supply company PJSC Kyivenergo has said.
According to Kyivenergo, it is also planned in 2019 to start the construction of another 110 kV substation Slavutych. The total design capacity of the two substations is 252 MVA.
“The construction of the 110 kV Arcada substation in Osokorky was started last year and its commissioning is scheduled for the end of 2018. The Slavutych substation will be built in 2019. Thanks to the two new substations, not only the residents of the previously built high-rise buildings, but also about 30,000 future owners of housing in new neighborhoods will be provided with a stable and reliable electricity supply,” the press service noted.
Kyivenergo noted the annual electricity consumption in the capital is increasing by 4-5%, the problem of power grids development is especially acute for micro districts with active housing building.
“For example, more than 40 emergency power outages occurred in Darnytsky district during 2017 because of the overloading of transformers of the 110 kV Osokorky substation, built in the early 2000s. Further connection of new consumers to the capacity of this substation is limited,” the company said.
