UKRENERGO REPEATEDLY ANNOUNCES TENDER TO BUILD AKVILON SUBSTATION

KYIV. Oct 19 (Interfax-Ukraine) – National energy company Ukrenergo has announced a tender to build the Akvilon 330 kV substation with diversions of Kakhovska-Ostrovska, Kakhovska-Dzhankoi and Kakhovska-Titan power lines in Kherson region.
The company said in the ProZorro e-procurement system that the expected cost of construction is up to UAH 608.333 million (VAT not included), and the tender security is UAH 3.65 million.
The construction is to be completed by December 20, 2019.
Bids can be submitted until November 13, 2017. The auction is to be held on December 19, 2017.
Earlier, in summer, Ukrenergo annulled the similar tender seeking to revise the technical requirements for construction and assembly works and register ownership rights to land parcels where the substation will be built.

KSG AGRO LAUNCHES TWO BIOFUEL BOILER HOUSES IN DNIPROPETROVSK REGION SCHOOLS

KYIV. Oct 19 (Interfax-Ukraine) – KSG Agro has launched two modernized boiler houses working on pellets in schools in Dnipropetrovsk region, the press service of the agricultural holding has reported.
The investment in the project is UAH 1.5 million, the total capacity of the boiler houses is 1 MW.
The facilities are located in the villages of Trytuzne and Nadezhdivka.
Before modernization, the school boiler houses operated on natural gas and coal. According to calculations by KSG Agro, modernization will allow budget institutions to save up to 40% of funds used for heating.
Today the total amount of heat generation by the KSG Agro boiler houses is 5.25 MW.
It is planned that fuel for the five boiler houses, modernized by the holding, will be produced by an enterprise with a capacity of 2,400 tonnes per year in Novopokrovka. It is planned to put it into operation before the heating season. The pellet line of the enterprise has already been assembled and is now being tested.
KSG Agro, a vertically integrated holding, is engaged in production, storage, processing and sale of grains and oilseeds, as well as pig breeding.

CABINET APPROVES SIGNING OF PARTNERSHIP FRAMEWORK PROGRAM WITH UN UNTIL 2022

KYIV. Oct 19 (Interfax-Ukraine) – The Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine has approved the signing of the Partnership Framework Program with the United Nations for 2018-2022 with a three-day revision.
An Interfax-Ukraine correspondent reported the corresponding decision was made at a government meeting on Wednesday.
The Cabinet granted the authority to sign the program to First Deputy Prime Minister – Minister of Economic Development and Trade of Ukraine Stepan Kubiv.
The framework program envisages the signing of a new strategic document for five years for further financing by UN agencies, funds and programs, the press service of the Ministry of Economic Development and Trade said.
UN assistance will be provided in four areas of partnership: 1) sustainable economic growth, environment and employment; 2) equal access to quality and inclusive services and social protection; 3) democratic governance, the rule of law and public participation; 4) the security of citizens, social cohesion and recovery with a special emphasis on the East.
The approximate amount of resources which is to be invested in the implementation of the Framework Program is $675.6 million.
The signing of the agreement should take place during the UN week dedicated to the UN Day, celebrated on October 24, 2017, as well as celebrating this year’s 25th anniversary of the UN in Ukraine.

KERNEL SECURES $200 MLN CREDIT LINE

KYIV. Oct 19 (Interfax-Ukraine) – Kernel Holding S.A., one of the largest Ukrainian agricultural groups, entered on October 16, 2017, into pre-export credit facility with a syndicate of European banks a limit of $200 million.
The three-year secured revolving facility will be used by Kernel to fund the working capital needs of its sunflower oil production business in Ukraine, the company said in a statement on the Warsaw Stock Exchange website
As reported, the company will invest $130 million in the construction of an oilseed crushing plant in Khmelnytsky region by 2020
Kernel is the world’s largest producer and exporter of sunflower oil, the leading producer and supplier of agricultural products from the Black Sea region to the world markets. Since 2007 the company’s shares have been traded on the Warsaw Stock Exchange (WSE).

GEOLOGY SERVICE ISSUES NINE SPECIAL PERMITS TO UKRGAZVYDOBUVANNIA

KYIV. Oct 19 (Interfax-Ukraine) – The State Service for Geology and Deposits has issued nine special permits for subsoil use to PJSC Ukrgazvydobuvannia and resolved most of the problem issues that existed between the agency and the company, the service’s press office has reported.
“Ukrgazvydobuvannia issued nine special permits for the use of mineral resources, including four of them for new subsoil deposits (Rozumivsko-Mazharivsky, Merchenkivsky, Tarkhanivsky, Maksymets-Bystretska area), two of them extending the period of validity of the previous special permits (Butsivska area, Stepne), two more on the introduction of changes (on the Kulychykhinsky and Kosivsky fields), and one for the extraction of hydrocarbons (Dobrianske deposit),” the press service said.
Successful talks between the State Service for Geology and Deposits and Ukrgazvydobuvannia were held on October 18.
Ukrgazvydobuvannia, fully owned by Naftogaz Ukrainy, is the country’s largest gas producer, providing about 75% of the country’s total gas production.

UKRAINE WANTS TO CREATE HUB FOR UKRAINIAN AGRICULTURAL EXPORTERS IN MALTA – PM

KYIV. Oct 18 (Interfax-Ukraine) – Ukrainian Prime Minister Volodymyr Groysman has said that Ukraine is interested in creating a hub for Ukrainian exporters of agricultural products in Malta with access to the North African and Mediterranean markets.
“I am pleased to welcome President of Malta Marie-Louise Coleiro Preca for the first time in Ukraine, for the first time on a state visit in the history of our diplomatic relations. Ukraine and Malta have visibly stepped up cooperation recently, and it was during Malta’s presidency of the EU that the most important decisions were made for us – the introduction of a visa-free regime and the completion of the ratification of the Association Agreement with the EU,” Groysman wrote on his Facebook page on Tuesday.
“There is an interest to create a hub in Malta for Ukrainian agricultural exporters, with subsequent access to the markets of North Africa and the Mediterranean,” he added.
Groysman expressed confidence in fruitful cooperation and “maximum strengthening of mutual trade and investment relations” between the two countries.
