Schedules of hourly power outages will be in effect on Monday from 8:00 to 24:00

Schedules of hourly power outages on Monday, June 17, will be in effect from 8:00 to 24:00, NPC Ukrenergo reported.

In a message on Telegram on Sunday, the system operator noted that from 11:00 to 22:00, the restrictions will affect more consumers than at other times.

The reason for the restrictions is the projected increase in consumption with the start of the working week, NPC explained.

As reported, at the end of this week, another NPP unit went out for scheduled maintenance, which increased the deficit in the power system.

DTEK manufactured 7 new mining combines in 5 months

In January-May this year, DTEK Energo’s machine builders manufactured and repaired 606 units of mining equipment, including seven new roadheaders and shearers.
“Machine-builders also provided miners with 450 thousand spare parts and components,” the energy holding company said in a press release on Friday.
As the company noted, such volumes of necessary manufactured equipment allow it to continue laying a stronger foundation for the thermal generation to pass the next heating season.
“Debris removal and restoration work at thermal power plants damaged by the attacks continues 24/7. Everyone is working in their place. Miners and machine builders are also in their places. Miners – to extract enough coal for reliable operation of thermal power plants. And machine builders – to make sure that miners always have everything they need,” said Ildar Saleev, CEO of DTEK Energy, quoted in the press release.
As reported, in 2023, the company’s investments in Ukrainian coal mining amounted to about UAH 7 billion, which is almost twice as much as in 2022.
“DTEK Energo” provides a closed cycle of electricity production from coal. As of January 2022, the company’s installed capacity in thermal generation amounted to 13.3 GW. A full production cycle has been created in coal mining: coal extraction and preparation, machine building and servicing of mining equipment.

Honeywell and DTEK sign memorandum of strategic cooperation

DTEK CEO Maxim Timchenko and Honeywell President for Central and Eastern Europe Przemek Schuder signed a memorandum of strategic cooperation at the Ukraine Recovery Conference in Berlin.
“The companies have agreed to explore prospects for accelerated recovery and maximization of DTEK’s capacities damaged by Russian attacks on Ukraine’s energy infrastructure, implementation of energy storage systems and Honeywell’s advanced modular solutions for oil and gas processing,” DTEK’s website reports.
The companies will also cooperate in supporting DTEK’s overall long-term energy transition strategy by offering solutions to optimize and decarbonize energy production.
According to Timchenko, the expansion of cooperation with Honeywell will mark a new phase in Ukraine’s recovery process and strengthen its energy security and economic potential.
“Large-scale international partnerships are the foundation for Ukraine’s recovery, and today’s announcement is an example of how Ukraine needs actions, not words. Our energy system is under constant threat, and I am deeply grateful to Honeywell for its unwavering support in restoring and creating a new energy system,” DTEK CEO said in a release.
Schuder, for his part, noted that, according to its portfolio focused on three global megatrends, namely automation, energy transition and the future of aviation, Honeywell is an innovator in the introduction of technologies that accelerate the transition and automation of the energy sector.
“We are committed to supporting the industry’s urgent needs today, from resilience to optimization, and we are pleased to expand our cooperation with DTEK, which we highly value, to jointly find new ways to support Ukraine’s current and long-term energy needs,” he added.
DTEK said that its cooperation with Honeywell began in May 2021, when the companies launched Ukraine’s first Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) in Enerhodar, and now it will support DTEK in assessing Ukraine’s critical energy needs and provide recommendations on how to implement Honeywell’s BESS together with DTEK’s current systems.
Honeywell’s BESS includes a set of technologies for automating and managing the storage and delivery of energy to a microgrid or national grid. This is a critical solution for managing the distribution of electricity, including from renewable sources, DTEK explained.

80 states supported the final communiqué of the Global Peace Summit, 13 countries did not sign the document

80 states and four organizations supported the final communiqué of the Global Peace Summit held in Switzerland, the Verkhovna Rada Commissioner for Human Rights Dmytro Lubinets said.

“This means commitment to the sovereignty of our state, the need for the operation of the ZNPP under the full control of Ukraine, the inadmissibility of attacks on merchant ships in the seas washing Ukraine, a call for the repatriation of prisoners according to the “all for all” formula and the unconditional return of Ukrainian children!”, Lubinets wrote in Telegram on Sunday.

According to the Internet edition “20 minuten”, the communiqué was not signed by representatives of 13 countries: Armenia, Bahrain, Brazil, Colombia, Vatican, India, Indonesia, Libya, Mexico, Saudi Arabia, South Africa, Thailand, United Arab Emirates, and the Vatican.

According to Reuters, the preliminary text of the summit communiqué on Ukraine recorded the agreement of the summit participants on such 3 aspects.

In particular, it is necessary to ensure safety in the use of nuclear energy – including at the Zaporizhzhya nuclear power plant, which should operate in accordance with IAEA requirements and under its supervision.

It is also necessary to guarantee the safety of commercial shipping in the Black Sea and the Sea of Azov. Attacks on merchant ships and civilian commercial ports are unacceptable and food security should not be used for military purposes.

Third, all prisoners of war should be released through an all-for-all exchange, and all deported Ukrainian children and adult civilians should return home.

In addition, the summit believes that “achieving peace requires participation and dialog between all parties”; therefore, it is decided to “take concrete steps in the above-mentioned areas in the future, with further participation of representatives of all parties.”

“The UN Charter, including the principles of respect for the territorial integrity and sovereignty of all states, can and will serve as the basis for achieving a comprehensive, just and lasting peace in Ukraine,” the draft communiqué of the summit reads.

As reported, 101 participants, including eight international organizations, were represented at the Peace Summit in Switzerland.
