Reserve energy points will be created in each settlement – Chernyshev

Reserve energy points will be equipped in every settlement, Minister for the Development of Communities and Territories Oleksiy Chernyshev said at a press conference on Friday.
“Reserve equipment should provide a supply of thermal energy limited in time and power. We are talking about cases of complete shutdown. In each locality, such energy points will be created where people can warm up in such a stressful situation, drink tea, charge their gadgets, get Internet access and etc. Now this program is being worked out,” the minister said.
In his opinion, such energy points can operate on the basis of social infrastructure, for example, schools, which already have backup energy equipment. New points will be created at the expense of local budget reserves with the involvement of financial and material assistance from international donors.
“We turned (with this request – IF-U) to our international partners. We are talking not only about generators, but also about mobile water supply systems, and the so-called” mobile boilers “, which should ensure the creation and comfortable functioning of such points,” Chernyshov said.
He also said that in general the country is ready for the start of the heating season. In particular, 18 regions are 100% prepared for the start of heating. As for the Donetsk region, according to the minister, “75% of the liberated territories of the region will receive heat, gas will be provided there.” The readiness of boiler houses in Ukraine is 99.1%. 44% of the total number of affected critical infrastructure facilities in the heat supply sector has already been restored. In general, 581 objects were damaged.
“The leaders of the UVA, mayors of cities, rescuers, builders and public utilities, who, in war conditions, do everything every day, but in fact 24/7, to restore everything destroyed by the enemy as soon as possible. The start of this year’s heating season is the result of team work of the central government, local authorities and public utilities. We do not stop, we continue to work,” Chernyshev said.
