OMBUDSMAN: FUNDS FROM ‘BABY PACKAGE’ CAN BE USED WITHOUT RESTRICTIONS

Families with children who wish to receive a monetized form of one-time assistance “baby package” can spend funds on any necessary goods and purposes without restrictions, Commissioner for Human Rights of the Verkhovna Rada Liudmyla Denisova said.

The relevant changes were approved by the Resolution of the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine on 03/05/2022. No. 204.

According to the document, from now on it is not necessary to open a special account for accruing such funds, it is enough to indicate any active account with JSC CB Privatbank.

Funds can be used to purchase medicines, food, fuel, etc. during the period of martial law and a month after its end.

SEAPORT OF OLVIA HIT

The seaport of Olvia (Mykolaiv region) was hit, no one was injured, the Ministry of Infrastructure of Ukraine reports.
“The Olvia seaport has just been hit. There are no casualties. The territory hit by the strike belongs to the Qatari company QTerminals Olvia on a concession basis,” the agency said on its Telegram channel on Monday.

UKRAINIAN MINISTRY OF AGRARIAN POLICY CREATES ONLINE PLATFORM FOR FARMERS

The Ministry of Agrarian Policy and Food of Ukraine has launched a questionnaire website for farmers to find out their readiness and needs before spring field work and sowing, as well as to clarify how the agency can effectively help them at the expense of state funds and international support.
The department wrote about the launch of the corresponding website on its Facebook page on Monday.
“Now millions of Ukrainians rely on us, because you, farmers, are the basis of the economic development of the state. Therefore, the Ministry of Agrarian Policy has taken on additional functions to coordinate the distribution of everything that is necessary to ensure the sowing campaign-2022 (diesel fuel, seed material, fertilizers, protective equipment). A special platform agrostatus.org has been created for this,” the ministry said in a statement.
According to it, the online survey will make it possible to find out the needs of farmers for a successful start of the sowing campaign, to help cover these needs at the expense of the state and international support.
The Ministry of Agrarian Policy specified that agrarians using the service should fill out a special application on the website https://agrostatus.org/ according to their needs, after which the ministry will contact them and coordinate all further actions.

MOBILE OPERATORS KYIVSTAR, VODAFONE UKRAINE AND LIFECELL LAUNCH NATIONAL ROAMING

Mobile operators Kyivstar, Vodafone Ukraine and lifecell together with the Ministry of Digital Transformation of Ukraine, the State Service for Special Communications and Information Protection of Ukraine, the National Commission for State Regulation in the Fields of Electronic Communications, Radio Frequency Spectrum and Provision of Postal Services together with the Ukrainian Association of Telecom Operators “Telas” announce the launch of national roaming in Ukraine.
“This means that subscribers can switch to the network of other operators if it is not possible to use the signal of their mobile operator. In the context of military aggression, mobile operators and the Ministry of Digital Transformation, State Service for Special Communications and Information Protection of Ukraine, the National Commission for State Regulation in the Fields of Electronic Communications and Telas have joined forces to ensure the continuity of communication services for their subscribers,” the joint statement said on Monday.
Starting today, national roaming between operators is launched in test mode.
“First of all, it will be connected in the zone of active hostilities (Kharkiv, Kherson, Sumy, Poltava, Dnipropetrovsk, Zaporizhia, Donetsk, Luhansk, Kirovohrad, Mykolaiv regions), then in Chernihiv, Zhytomyr, Cherkasy and Vinnytsia regions and subsequently throughout the territory Ukraine. That is, if the connection of one operator disappears, the subscriber will be able to manually connect the connection of another operator,” the message says.
Currently, national roaming is available for voice calls and SMS messages within Ukraine from all mobile operators.
For the reliable functioning of the network, operators will technically implement the possibility of using national roaming gradually. Initially, national roaming will be activated for subscribers of the contract form of service, and within the next three days, subscribers of prepaid communication will be connected.
What you need to know about using national roaming for subscribers:
– the name of the network may change to the one whose coverage is in use;
– national roaming does not require additional payment from subscribers;
– Calls and SMS are billed according to the terms of your operator’s tariff plan.
How to connect to another operator’s network:
1. Disable auto network selection, find and select an available network manually (Vodafone UA, UA-KYIVSTAR or LIFECELL). If registration fails, you need to try again or select a different network.
After connecting, it is necessary to check the possibility of passing a call, SMS.
If if is impossible to connect to the network of another operator, the subscriber should try to restart the phone.
Operators emphasize that it is important to try to return (connect) to the network of their operator every day. Manually or by enabling auto network selection.
“Please note that connecting national roaming involves a significant load on the networks of operators. This may affect the quality of some services,” the message says.

SOME 1,067,000 PEOPLE LEAVE UKRAINE FOR POLAND

Some 1,067,000 people have left Ukraine for Poland since February 24, the Polish Border Service reported.

“Since February 24, some 1,067,000 people have arrived from Ukraine to Poland. Yesterday, March 6, officers registered a record 142,300 people from Ukraine! Traffic on the border of Poland and Ukraine is growing, today by 07:00 some 42,000 people have arrived,” the Polish Border Guard said on Twitter.

PROVIDERS OF UKRAINIAN CAPITAL START CONNECTING BOMB SHELTERS TO INTERNET

Datagroup, the provider of fiber-optic infrastructure and digital services, which bought 100% of the Volia group of companies in June 2021, launched a program to provide high-speed Internet to shelters and bomb shelters throughout the country.

“We have already connected 128 civil defense facilities in 18 regions of Ukraine to the Internet. In particular, six of them are in Kyiv. Our technicians work 24/7 to keep Ukrainians in touch, even under enemy fire,” the company said on Sunday.

Datagroup stressed that now there is a big problem of lack of communication with the outside world when Ukrainians are in basements or bomb shelters.

“Unfortunately, now we need to hide more and more often. Therefore, our company simply cannot stand aside. Our employees, despite the danger for almost a week, continue not only to repair damaged networks, but also connect bomb shelters and shelters across the country to the Internet,” the management of Datagroup-Volia said.

As reported, earlier Datagroup decided to make an advance payment in the amount of UAH 50 million in taxes.
