UKRAINE INCREASES IMPORT OF BUTTER BY 2.5 TIMES TO $12.27 MLN

Export of butter from Ukraine in January-November of this year decreased by 37.5%, to 17,120 tonnes, in money terms by 37.5%, to $17.12 million. Import of this product, according to the service, rose by 2.5 times, to 2,450 tonnes (for $12.27 million). In January-November, export of milk and cream (condensed) slightly rose to 34,160 tonnes. Ukraine supplied condensed milk and cream for a total of $72.28 million, which is 29% more than in January-November 2018. Imports of this group of goods slightly increased to 2,160 tonnes (for $4.84 million).

UKRAINE INCREASES EXPORT OF POULTRY BY 23% TO $531 MLN

Ukraine in January-November 2019 increased export of poultry by 23.4%, to 375,110 tonnes, the State Fiscal Service has reported. According to the service, in monetary terms exports of these products rose by 12.7%, to $531.74 million.
At the same time, import of poultry in January-November 2019 slightly decreased, to 121,100 tonnes, in money terms to $48.2 million.
In addition, according to the service, pork exports in January-November 2019 amounted to 2,050 tonnes compared to 1,650 tonnes for the same period in 2018. These products were delivered for $4.69 million against $3.55 million for the eleven months of 2018.
Pork imports to Ukraine during this period decreased by 16.8%, to 21,920 tonnes. Pork worth $41.85 million was imported to the country compared to $48.12 million in January-November 2018.

WINDROSE TO BUY EIGHT PLANES DURING 2020-2022

Windrose airline has signed the agreement on leasing intentions and plans to expand its fleet with eight new ATR-72-600 aircraft during 2020-2022, the airline’s press service has said. Windrose Airlines has decided to expand its domestic flight program. The airline has determined for itself that operating the ATR-72-600 of the French-Italian manufacturer ATR will be most effective for implementing this program, the airline said.
Windrose said that the first three aircraft ATR-72-600 made in 2016 will be operated in the passenger configuration with 70 seats.
Windrose airline was founded in 2003. In 2007, the airline received the operator certificate and began to operate scheduled and charter flights under the Windrose Airlines brand.

COMPANIES FROM POLAND AND ROMANIA WIN LVIV LANDFILL RECLAMATION TENDER

A consortium of Vekto Sp. z o.o. (Poland) and Iridex Group Plastic s.r.l. (Romania) has been recognized the winner of an international tender to implement a project funded by the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) and the government of Sweden for integrated reclamation of a landfill site in the village of Velyki Hrybovychi outside Lviv, Director of Lviv municipal enterprise Zelene Misto (“Green City”) Vadym Nozdrya said in Kyiv. Speaking at a presentation of a campaign to support the project, he specified that this decision had already been agreed with international lenders and the contract with the winner is expected to be signed by the end of this year, which will allow the contractor to begin work as early as at the beginning of 2020.
Lviv Mayor Andriy Sadovy emphasized that the city is extremely interested in the speedy implementation of the project, as today it is forced to spend UAH 300 million annually on garbage collection over the closure of the Hrybovychi landfill.
According to Nozdrya, work on technical rehabilitation in Hrybovychi has been ongoing since July 2019 and should be completed in 2021. During this time, the contractor must perform work on leveling and terracing the entire surface of the landfill, cover it with a technological protective screen and carry out the construction of utility systems.
Active preparations at the landfill are under way: the removal of contaminated soil from the landslide that occurred in 2016, along with the removal of lakes with filtrate water, he said. Hrybovychi landfill rehabilitation costs are estimated at EUR11.8 million, plus EUR1.8 million for work with filtrates. Zelene Misto is the commissioner of the work.

UKRAINE RAISES CHEESE IMPORTS BY 1.7 TIMES

Ukraine in January-November 2019 exported 6,470 tonnes of cheese, which is 15.8% less than in the same period in 2018.
According to customs statistics released by the State Fiscal Service, in monetary terms exports amounted to $23.89 million, which is 16.3% less than the figure for the eleven months of 2018.
At the same time, cheese imports in January-November 2019 amounted to 20,510 tonnes, which is 1.7 times more than the figure for the same period in 2018. In monetary terms, imports rose by 1.6 times, to $93.76 million.
