UKRAINIAN RADAR TECH WITH POLISH IMPERA ALFA TO INVEST EUR 2.5 MLN IN UKRAINIAN STARTUPS

Radar Tech, the developer of sectoral corporate accelerators, has become a partner of the Polish investment fund Impera Alfa Fund, a member of the Radar Tech team, managing partner of Unit.City Max Bakhmatov, said on Facebook.
“Finally they are ready to give money to startups: Radar Tech became a partner of the Polish fund Impera Alfa. Together with the partners we are ready to invest up to EUR 250,000 [20% should be used for R&D), even at the proof to concept stage,” he said.
Radar Tech and Impera Alfa plan to invest a total of EUR 2.5 million in Ukrainian startups.
“First of all, we consider those solutions that were submitted to us earlier or will be submitted to MHP Accelerator 2.0,” Bakhmatov said.
Impera Alfa Fund is a Polish venture fund that invests in startups at early stages.
As reported, earlier Radar Tech, Agrohub and Myronivsky Hliboproduct (MHP) began accepting applications for participation in the second MHP Accelerator 2.0 agricultural startup development program focused on search, acceleration and integration of innovative technologies in agribusiness.

UKRAINE RAISES ELECTRICITY GENERATION ONLY BY 1% IN TWO MONTHS OF 2019

Electricity production in the united energy system of Ukraine in January-February 2019 increased by 0.8% (231.2 million kWh) compared to the same period of 2018, to 29.514 billion kWh, the Ministry of Energy and Coal Industry has told Interfax-Ukraine.
Nuclear power plants (NPP) for the two months of this year increased production of electricity by 10% compared to the same period last year, to 15.949 billion kWh. In particular, electricity production at Zaporizhia NPP amounted to 6.778 billion kWh (2.7% less compared to January-February 2019), Yuzhnoukrainsk NPP some 4.285 billion kWh (23.5% more), Rivne NPP some 3.451 billion kWh (53.2% more), and Khmelnytsky NPP to 1.435 billion kWh (20.4% less).
Thermal power plants (TPP), as well as combined heat and power plants (CHPP) and cogeneration plants reduced production by 2.7%, to 11.401 billion kWh. In particular, the power generating companies of TPPs reduced generation by 5.5%, to 8.312 billion kWh, while those of CHPPs and cogeneration plants increased production by 5.7%, to 3.090 billion kWh.
In January-February 2019, hydroelectric plants and hydroelectric pumped storage power plants reduced power generation by 40.5%, to 1.481 billion kWh, and block stations by 7.7%, to 241.6 million kWh.
Electricity production by unconventional sources (wind and solar plants, biomass) in January-February 2019 rose by 38.1%, to 441.5 million kWh.

WIZZ AIR WILL LAUNCH FLIGHTS FROM KRAKOW TO KHARKIV

The Hungarian low-cost air carrier Wizz Air will launch flights from Krakow (Poland) to Kharkiv a month and a half earlier, from August 2, 2019 (previously planned from September 16), according to the airline’s booking system.
Kharkiv-Krakow flights will be carried out on Mondays and Fridays (departure to Krakow at 17:35, back at 14:05 local time).
As reported, Wizz Air is considering the possibility of resuming the work of the Ukrainian subsidiary Wizz Air Ukraine in 2019, and also plans to invest $2.5 billion by 2025 to increase the Ukrainian fleet to 20 new Airbus A320 and Airbus A321 aircraft.
Wizz Air, the largest low-cost carrier in Central and Eastern Europe, offers flights on more than 600 routes from 27 bases, connecting 145 destinations in 44 countries. The airline’s fleet consists of 89 Airbus A320 and Airbus A321 aircraft.

UKRAINE FULLY USES 11 OUT OF 40 QUOTAS FOR DUTY-FREE AGRICULTURAL EXPORTS TO EU

Ukraine in 2018 used 11 out of the 40 quotas for duty-free exports under the free trade area (FTA) agreement with the European Union, while export quotas for processed products from oil, sugar syrups, and an additional quota for exports of mushrooms were not used at all, according to the Ministry of Economic Development and Trade.
Ukraine has not yet received permission to export red meat, therefore its companies also did not use the quota for pork, lamb, and beef. The remaining quotas were used partially, the ministry said.
In 2018, the country fully used quotas for exports of corn, honey, corn flour and granules, grape and apple juice, processed tomatoes, processed malt and starch, soft wheat, wheat flour and granules, barley grits and starch flour, and the major quota for exports of poultry and semi-finished products from it.
In 2018, the main quota for exports of mushrooms was used by 0.03%, the quota for exports of cigarettes by 0.01%, food products by 0.9%, processed products from dairy cream by 4.2%, ethanol by 10.4%, processed products from sugar by 13.9%, milk, yoghurt and cream by 15%, barley by 16.6%, dairy products by 22.1%, milk powder by 24.1%, and oats by 36.5%.
In addition, Ukraine has used the basic quota for exports of eggs by 74.6%, and an additional one by 48.3%.

PERSEY ENERGO TO BUILD BIOGAS PLANT IN UKRAINE

Persey Energo LLC intends to build a biogas plant with an electrical capacity of 12 MW at Persey Agro farm (Ivano-Frankivsk region).
This is evidenced by the report about the planned activities in the unified register of environmental impact assessment, posted on the website of the Ministry of Ecology and Natural Resources.
It is planned that the plant will recycle organic waste from agriculture and animal breeding. It is assumed that the plant will generate 12 million kWh of electricity and 7.288 million kWh of heat per year.
According to the state register of legal entities, at the end of March the founders of Persey Energo LLC, registered in 2018, were five individuals and Alliance-Invest IF LLC. Persey Agro belongs to Volodymyr Slobodian.
