PJSC Ukrzaliznytsia has announced an open tender to select a company to insure passengers against accidents in railway transport, the press service of the company has reported.
“We invite insurance companies to participate in an open tender to select an insurer to insure passengers against accidents in rail transport. The railway carrier intends to sign an agreement for a year from March 1, 2018 to March 1, 2019. Bids are accepted within ten working days from the date of the tender announcement posted on the company’s website,” the report says.
Proposals received by the customer after the deadline are not disclosed and returned to participants.
Bids will be disclosed in the premises of Ukrzaliznytsia at 14:00 on February 7.
Antonov Airlines, a leading global operator of An-124-100 Ruslan heavy lift aircraft with a carrying capacity of 150 tonnes, has ensured transportation of the new Al Yah 3 communications satellite of U.S. Orbital ATK weighing 23 tonnes from Washington to the Kourou spaceport in French Guiana (South America).
The press service of Antonov State Enterprise reported that Al Yah 3 spacecraft, one of the satellites created by Orbital ATK on the basis of the GEOStar-3 modern platform, was placed to a container of 11.4 meters long, 4.6 meters wide and 4.1 meters high.
According to open sources, the launch of Al Yah 3 spacecraft using Ariane 5 launch vehicle (LV) is scheduled for January 25 from the Kourou spaceport.
Antonov Airlines Director of Sales for North America Amnon Ehrlich said that the spacecraft was transported using a low-profile ramp system specifically designed and manufactured by Antonov State Enterprise for the satellite and space transportation sector, to safely and efficiently load and offload the satellite.
“We are honored to have been selected as the transport partner for this project, which further illustrates Antonov Airlines’ commitment to its customers and excellence in delivering outsized high-value aerospace equipment worldwide,” he said.
According to the report, recently Antonov Airlines opened a new base in Houston (Texas, the United States).
UFuture Investment Group (UIG) is mulling the possibility of opening an innovation park in Kharkiv, the founder of the group, Vasyl Khmelnytsky, said on the sidelines of the Ukraine House in Davos on Wednesday.
He did not confirm earlier announced information that the group plans to build innovation hubs abroad.
“I never promise things that I cannot make for sure. We plan to finish the first stage of Unit.City in Kyiv. These are around 30,000-35,000 square meters. Then we will build,” he said.
The businessman confirmed the interest of potential foreign partners.
The park in Kharkiv could become the third park in the group’s portfolio after Unit.City in Kyiv and Lvivtech.City.

Foreign investors show large interest in the Ukraine House in Davos, Chairman of the supervisory board of the Ukrainian Venture Capital and Private Equity Association (UVCA) Andriy Kolodiuk has said.
“The hall is crowded during all the panels we are holding. Each second visitor is an investor,” he said on the sidelines of the Ukraine House in Davos.
Kolodiuk said that many businessmen know about Ukraine from news broadcast.
“Here we allow them to understand and show [what is going in Ukraine]… Finally, some investors have decided to arrive in Kyiv,” Kolodiuk said.
Ukraine’s first-ever Ukraine House in Davos, Switzerland, is held during the annual meeting of the World Economic Forum in January 2018. The Ukraine House will work within a week under the slogan “Ukraine: Creativity, Innovation, Opportunity” and is intended to become a dynamic discussion hub. Zakhidnadraservice LLC (Bohorodchany, Ivano-Frankivsk region) of businessman Zinoviy Kozytsky wants to develop six fields in Ivano-Frankivsk and Lviv regions under product sharing agreements (PSA), the press service of the Energy and Coal Industry Ministry of Ukraine has reported.
The press service said that a working group of the interagency commission for signing PSA will consider the application of the company within two weeks.
The application was submitted for the fields Uhnivska, Lypnykivska, Tysovetska, Tershakivska, Dibrovska and Sadzhavska.
As reported, in March 2016, Zakhidnadraservice offered the largest price of UAH 2.322 million for a license to develop Bystritska oil and gas field in Lviv region at an auction held by the State Service for Geology and Deposits of Ukraine.
OKKO Group, including the OKKO fuel filling stations network (Galnaftogaz Concern), has imported the first batch of natural gas in the amount of 1 million cubic meters from Europe, the holding’s press service has reported.
“The resources were purchased from the international energy trader AOT Energy. And now it is being pumped into the underground gas storage facilities,” the report said.
Currently, the holding is negotiating the purchase of gas with several other international traders.
“We have already passed all the necessary compliance procedures with five of them, which necessarily precede the signing of contracts,” the head of the new products sale department at OKKO, Volodymyr Ostaschuk, said.
In future, OKKO intends to reach the volume of natural gas purchase of 30 million cubic meters monthly.
“It is planned to increase activity in European gas markets in spring, when the heating season ends, and resources can be purchased 30-40% cheaper than during the peak consumption periods. Afterwards it will be stored in underground storage facilities. OKKO Group will also buy gas from Ukrainian producers,” the press service said.
