PUNCTUALITY OF UKRAINIAN AIRLINES INCREASES TO 89%

Ukrainian airlines in February 2020 performed 89% of all flights from the country’s airports with a 15-minute deviation from the schedule, which corresponds to an increase of 3.1 percentage points compared to the previous airlines’ punctuality study for January 2020 (85.9%).
According to data the Infrastructure Ministry of Ukraine posted on its website, in general, in January Ukrainian airlines operated 2,929 flights.
At same time, the ministry indicates that the punctuality of foreign airlines in February 2020 increased to 87.3% (from 86.6% in January 2020). The total number of flights is 2,739.
Of the Ukrainian airlines that performed more than 50 flights in January, the most punctual was Windrose airline with an indicator of 92.7% with a total number of flights being 315. It is followed by Ukraine’s largest airline, Ukraine International Airlines (UIA), with 91.6% with the total number of flights being 1,770 and Motor Sich with 90.4% and 114 flights. The next are SkyUp (81.9% and 514 flights) and Azur Air Ukraine (79%, 195 flights).
Among foreign airlines, the punctuality rating with 100% was headed by Onur AI (16 flights), Alitalia (15 flights), and Scandinavian Airlines (six flights).
Among the low cost airlines in January, the Irish Ryanair had the best punctuality indicators – 89.7% with 465 flights. Wizz Air Hungary had 84.8% with 552 flights. Wizz Air UK had 81% with 21 flights. Pegasus Airlines is fourth with punctuality of 60% and 90 flights.

SKYUP AIRLINES LAUNCHES FLIGHTS TO GREECE FROM UKRAINE

SkyUp Airlines in May 2020 will launch flights from Kyiv, Lviv, Zaporizhia, Odesa, and Kharkiv to the cities of Greece.
According to the airline’s press service, flights to Heraklion (Crete island) will be launched from Kyiv on April 25. First they will be carried out on Saturdays and Sundays, and from May 26 they will be carried out on Tuesdays, Thursdays, Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays. The cost of a one-way ticket with baggage is from UAH 3,300.
In addition, from May 30 flights to Corfu Island are launched from Kyiv, and from May 31 to Zakynthos (Zakynthos Island).
Flights to Corfu will be operated on Saturdays. The ticket price starts from UAH 3,400. Flights to Zakynthos will be performed on Sundays, the ticket price is from UAH 3,400.
Flights are launched only to Heraklion from Zaporizhia, Lviv, Odesa, and Kharkiv.
SkyUp LLC was registered in Kyiv in June 2016. The founder is ACS-Ukraine LLC of Tetiana and Yuriy Alba, who also own the JoinUp! tour operator.

SKYUP AIRLINES SUSPENDS FLIGHTS TO UAE FROM FEBUARY

SkyUp Airlines suspends its flights to the United Arab Emirates from February 1, 2020 due to the closure of the airspace over Iran and Iraq.
“From February 1, 2020, SkyUp Airlines suspends its regular flights to Sharjah (UAE) from Zaporizhia, Lviv and Kharkiv. This is connected with the prolongation of the ban on flights in the airspace over the Islamic Republic of Iran and the Republic of Iraq, which was introduced by the State Aviation Administration of Ukraine from January 9, 2020,” the company said on Friday.
SkyUp also said that bypassing of the territories of Iran and Iraq increases the duration of the flights and makes it necessary to make a stop to refuel the plane.

SKYUP AIRLINES LAUNCHES FLIGHTS FROM KIEV, LVIV, ODESA, KHARKIV TO ITALY

SkyUp Airlines has announced the launch of some flights to Italy from Kyiv, Lviv, Odesa and Kharkiv. The airline said on its Facebook page on Tuesday, in particular, the Kyiv-Rome-Kyiv flight will be operated from March 29 to October 24, 2020 three times a week – on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Sundays. The cost of one ticket without baggage from Kyiv to Rome starts from UAH 1,500, and back from UAH 2,200.
In addition, from March 29 to October 24, a flight will be operated on the route Kyiv-Milan (Bergamo). It will be performed three times a week – on Mondays, Wednesdays and Saturdays. The cost of a ticket from Kyiv to Milan starts from UAH 1,500, and back from UAH 1,600.
The flight Kyiv-Bologna-Kyiv will also be operated from March 29 to October 24, 2020. In particular, it will be serviced on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Sundays. The cost of a ticket from Kyiv to Bologna starts from UAH 1,500, and back from UAH 1,800.
Flight Kyiv-Lamezia Terme-Kyiv will be operated from May 30 to September 30, 2020 twice a week – on Wednesdays and Saturdays. The cost of a ticket from Kyiv to Lamezia Terme starts from UAH 2,100, and back from UAH 2,300.
The Lviv-Rome-Lviv flight will be operated from March 29 to October 24, 2020 three times a week – on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Sundays. The ticket price from Lviv to Rome starts from UAH 1,400, and back from UAH 1,900.
The Lviv-Naples-Lviv flight will also be operated from March 29 to October 24, 2020, but twice a week – on Tuesdays and Fridays. The ticket price from Lviv to Naples starts from UAH 1,100, and back from UAH 1,400.
In the same period, it is planned to launch the flight Lviv-Milan (Bergamo)-Lviv. It will be performed on Mondays and Fridays. The ticket price from Lviv to Milan starts from UAH 1,400, and back from UAH 1,500.
Flight Odesa-Lamezia Terme-Odesa will be operated from June 3 to September 30, 2020 only on Wednesdays. The ticket price from Odesa to Lamezia Terme starts from UAH 2,100, and back from UAH 2,200.
Flight Kharkiv-Lamezia Terme-Kharkiv will be operated from June 1 to September 28, 2020 on Mondays. The cost of a ticket from Kharkiv to Lamezia Terme starts from UAH 2,400, and back from UAH 2,600.

ERNEST AIRLINES FROM JANUARY 11 SUSPENDS ALL FLIGHTS

Ernest Airlines from January 11 suspended all flights over the suspension of its license, the airline has reported on its website.
“Following the provision of the National Civil Aviation Authority (ENAC) of 29 December 2019 regarding the temporary suspension of our operating license, we find ourselves unable to operate flights as of 11.01.2020,” the airline said in a press release.
Ernest Airlines said that the license can be restored following the demonstration by Ernest S.p.A. to be in possession of the requirements prescribed by the current legislation on the matter and to obtain the revocation of the provision issued by ENAC.
“We have activated all the actions aimed at obtaining the revocation of the same provision, and we need time to provide all the necessary evidence as per Regulation (EC) n.1008 of 2008 to demonstrate our financial sustainability necessary for the resumption of our operation. We know that nor a simple apology, or just the reimbursement of the ticket, will be enough to remedy the problems caused, but I can assure you, that we all at Ernest Airlines are doing our best to assist all our passengers that have experienced delays or cancellations in this difficult moment,” the airline said.
The Lviv International Airport also posted information on the cancellation of the Rome-Lviv-Rome flight ERN237/238 on its Facebook page.
Earlier Ernest Airlines said that the airline blocked sales of transport contracts for all flights departing from January 13, 2020 over the suspension of the airline’s operating license.

WINDROSE AIRLINES TO LAUNCH FLIGHTS FROM KYIV TO ITALIAN CITIES

Windrose Airlines for the summer navigation of 2020 will launch flights from Kyiv to Brindisi, Lamezia Terme and Ancona (all based in Italy).
According to the company’s press service, in particular, flights to Brindisi will be operated from May 30 to October 3, 2020 on Saturdays, flights to Lamezia Terme from May 29 to October 3, 2020 on Tuesdays, Fridays and Saturdays, and flights to Ancona from June 6 to September 19, 2020 on Saturdays.
The cost of tickets is from UAH 2,800.
As reported, the commission of the State Aviation Service of Ukraine decided to revoke the right of Windrose to fly from Kyiv to Istanbul on a regular basis three times a week.
Earlier, the State Aviation Service approved the application of the airline for charter flights from Kyiv to Odesa, Lviv, Kherson, Kharkiv and the Dnipro three times a week. The rights are valid until March 28, 2020.
