United States President Joe Biden will visit Ukraine, but not this year, Foreign Minister Dmytro Kuleba said.
“I have no doubt that President Biden will fly to the middle of the Dnipro River, and cross the Dnipro River, and land in Boryspil, and arrive in Kyiv. But this visit will not take place this year, since diplomatic practice does not provide for an exchange of visits of this level in one year,” Kuleba said in the Details of the Week (Podrobytsi Tyzhnia) program on the Inter television channel on Sunday evening.
The minister noted that for now, the parties would focus on the implementation of the agreements that were reached during Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky’s visit to the U.S.
Ukrainian diplomats are working on preparations for U.S. President Biden’s visit to Ukraine, Kuleba earlier said.
Biden last visited Ukraine in January 2017 as U.S. vice president. During his visit, he took part in bilateral meetings with the fifth Ukrainian president, Petro Poroshenko, and Volodymyr Groysman, who has been head of the government at the time.

Biden himself made the relevant statement on Wednesday, during a meeting with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky, according to the journalist of the U.S. edition of CBSNews Ed O’Keefe.

On Wednesday, U.S. President Joe Biden will hold a bilateral meeting with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky, who is paying a working visit to the United States.
The leaders’ talks are scheduled for 21:00 Kyiv time (14:00 local time) in the Oval Office of the White House, according to the public schedule of the U.S. President. The next event in Biden’s schedule is the weekly economic briefing at 4:30 p.m., which means that the presidents of the United States and Ukraine will not hold a joint briefing on the results of the talks.

According to him, the head of the Ukrainian state will begin a visit to the United States at the invitation of the President of the United States on August 30 and will visit not only the capital of Washington, but also the state of California.
“The agenda will include a number of important events in Washington DC and the state of California. These are two basic points for the president’s visit. No president of Ukraine has been so far in the United States before, never visited another U.S. coast in the Pacific Ocean, although it is the state of California where the largest IT companies, high-tech space industry is located, and this is exactly where Ukraine has strong trump cards,” he said.
Kuleba added that the president would visit the state of California to create new opportunities for interaction between the United States and Ukraine in these areas and attract new U.S. investments in the Ukrainian economy.

Earlier on Wednesday, the White House said that Biden will meet with his Ukrainian counterpart Zelensky in Washington on August 30.
