Ukraine launches daily train Kyiv-Budapest

Starting December 15, Ukrzaliznytsia JSC (UZ) will launch a daily direct train between Kyiv and Budapest.
“Starting December 15, we will launch a daily direct train Kyiv – Budapest. Train No. 9/10 on this route will be another – already the 20th – international train of Ukrzaliznytsia,” the UZ press service said on Telegram on Thursday.
The train will run in standard sleeping cars: compartment (4 seats) and suite (2 seats).
“A lot of diplomatic work preceded the appointment of this flight, so that wide cars in the amount of at least eight per flight could deliver Ukrainians from/to the Hungarian capital. It is here that the Ferenc Liszt Airport is located, the largest airport in the region, many of whose flights are now synchronized with the Ukrainian train,” the press service quoted Oleksandr Pertsovsky, Chairman of the Board of UZ, as saying.
The train will depart from Kyiv at 10:16 and arrive in Budapest at 06:00. In the opposite direction: departure from Budapest at 22:40, arrival in Kyiv at 19:11. The cost of a ticket in a compartment carriage is approximately UAH 3 thousand.

Mayors of Warsaw, Prague, Budapest, Bratislava came to Kiev

The mayors of Warsaw, Prague, Budapest and Bratislava are visiting Kiev, the Polish TV channel Polsat News has reported.
Details of the mayors’ visit to the Ukrainian capital are not yet known.
According to media reports, this is the first visit of Warsaw Mayor Rafal Trzaskowski to Kiev after the war started.
On February 15, 2022, Trzaskowski, accompanied by Prague mayor Zdenek Grzyb on behalf of the Pact of Free Cities went to meet with Kiev mayor Vitaliy Klitschko.

HUNGARIAN PRIME MINISTER ORBAN INVITED PUTIN TO BUDAPEST FOR TALKS WITH ZELENSKY – EUROPEAN MEDIA

Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban, in a telephone conversation with Russian President Vladimir Putin on Wednesday, suggested that he hold talks in Budapest with his Ukrainian counterpart Vladimir Zelensky, European media reported.

According to Bloomberg, Orban also said that he did not refuse cooperation with Russia in the nuclear field.
In addition, according to Euronews, when asked whether Hungary would pay Russia for gas in rubles, Orban replied that “paying in rubles will not be a problem for us.” “If the Russians want to be paid in rubles, we will pay in rubles,” the Hungarian prime minister said.

WIZZ AIR STARTS FLIGHTS KIEV-BUDAPEST ROUTE

Hungarian low-cost airline Wizz Air has announced the resumption of flights on the Kiev – Budapest route from September 13, 2021.
“We are pleased to announce the resumption of flights on the Kiev – Budapest route. Thanks to it, the airline connects the capitals of Ukraine and Hungary and offers passengers affordable travel opportunities,” Internal Communications Manager at Wizz Air Paulina Gosk said.
Flights on this route will operate twice a week until the end of October and five times a week in November. Flights will take off from the Kyiv international airport (Zhuliany).
To ensure the safety and comfort of passengers and the crew during their flight, Wizz Air is implementing enhanced hygiene measures to maintain physical distancing and improve on-board cleanliness. In addition, passengers are encouraged to pay for all necessary services online before boarding (for example, to pay for additional luggage via the Internet).

UKRAINE LAUNCHES TRAIN TO CONNECT VIENNA, BUDAPEST AND KIEV

JSC Ukrzaliznytsia is launching a Kiev-Vienna train since June, which will pass through the territory of Ukraine, Austria and Hungary, the Ukrzaliznytsia’s press service reported on Sunday.
The restoration of international railway traffic became possible with the assistance of the railway authorities of Austria and Hungary thanks to the stabilization of the situation with the coronavirus pandemic.
“The first train from Kiev to Vienna will start on June 1, so Ukrzaliznytsia passengers have a great opportunity to start their summer with a visit to Austria. In the future, the train will run daily according to the following schedule: it will depart from the Central Kiev Station at 02:07 pm, will pass through Budapest (arrival at 8:20 am) and arrive in Vienna at 11:21 am the next day. In the opposite direction (from June 2) the train will depart at 4:42 pm and arrive in Kiev at 5:22 pm the next day,” Ukrzaliznytsia said.
Tickets for the Kiev – Vienna train can be purchased at the international ticket offices of the stations.
“Passengers can find out up-to-date information on the rules for the entry of Ukrainian citizens into the territory of Austria and Hungary, as well as citizens of these countries in Ukraine, through the official sources of the embassies of Ukraine in Austria and Hungary and the embassies of these countries in Ukraine,” Ukrzaliznytsia said.

RYANAIR TO LAUNCH FLIGHTS FROM KHARKIV TO BUDAPEST

The Irish low cost carrier Ryanair (Dublin) from January 16, 2020 opens direct flights from Kharkiv to Budapest (Hungary).
According to the press service of Kharkiv International Airport, flights will be operated twice a week on Thursdays and Sundays. The flight duration is two hours and ten minutes.
The cost of a one-way ticket without baggage starts from UAH 468.
As reported, on June 1, 2020 Wizz Air intends to launch flights from Kharkiv to Budapest.
Ryanair entered the Ukrainian market in 2018. During the first months, the low-cost carrier operated flights from Boryspil Airport and Lviv. In June 2019, the airline began operating flights from Kharkiv and Odesa, then announced flights from Kherson.
Ryanair daily carries out more than 2,000 flights to/from 236 airports. In the past financial year, the company transported 130.3 million people. Its fleet has 460 Boeing-737 aircraft. In 2020, Ryanair intends to increase passenger traffic on Ukrainian flights by 33%, to more than 2.1 million people.
