DIGITAL MINISTRY WILL COOPERATE WITH SAMSUNG

The Ministry of Digital Transformation of Ukraine has signed a memorandum with Samsung Electronics Ukraine Company.
According to the Facebook page of the ministry, the main goal of cooperation is to make electronic services on the Diia portal and in the Diia mobile application even more accessible and convenient.
“We will work in the direction of digitalization, development of digital technologies, economy, innovation and digital skills of the population. In particular, Samsung and the Ministry of Digital Transformation will jointly popularize the Diia mobile application,” the report says.

UKRAINE AND SPAIN PLAN TO COOPERATE IN AGRICULTURE

The Ministry of Economic Development, Trade and Agriculture of Ukraine has signed a memorandum of cooperation in the field of agriculture with the Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food of Spain.
According to Deputy Minister of Economic Development, Trade and Agriculture of Ukraine Taras Kachka, it took three years for Ukraine to sign this memorandum, the document is the basis for a structural agrarian dialogue.
“If we want from Brussels a qualitatively different access to agricultural products, we need a common vision of agricultural development with each EU member state. This is the main goal of our structural dialogue on agriculture with Spain,” Kachka said.
He indicated that Ukraine intends to maintain an agrarian dialogue with all other member states.
“Now we have 17 memorandums of cooperation with the EU member states. Most of these dialogues are alive,” the deputy minister noted.
Kachka said that the signed memorandum is a typical document on cooperation, but extremely important for Ukraine.
According to him, Ukraine is the largest supplier of agricultural products for Spain. In the structure of $ 840 million of exports to Spain since the beginning of the year, two-thirds is corn and oil. Ukraine is also a key supplier for Spanish livestock production.

UKRAINIAN SMART HOLDING AND CHINESE CRCC PLAN TO COOPERATE IN INFRASTRUCTURE PROJECTS

Representatives of the top management of the industrial and investment group of PrJSC Smart Holding (Kyiv) and China Railway Construction Corporation Ltd. (China) discussed the opportunities of cooperation and implementation of common investment projects in transport infrastructure and logistics.
According to the company’s press release on Friday, during the meeting, the Chinese side was presented an investment project for the development of an industrial park based on a logistics hub managed by LLC Naval Park in Mykolaiv, as well as a development project for existing sea port of Ochakiv, including dredging and construction of new infrastructure.
The Chinese side has expressed interest in the projects and will continue to study them in detail. The parties agreed to continue the dialogue and organization of visits to the relevant facilities.
Director General Oleksiy Pertin, First Deputy Director General Yulia Kiryanova, other representatives of top management of Smart Holding, participated from the company’s side. Executive Director of the subsidiary of CRCC – CRCC14 Overseas Construction and Development Co Ltd Li Junqiang and Deputy General Manager of China Railway 14th Bureau Group Wang Chuang took part in the discussion from the Chinese side.
Commercial sea port Ochakiv is located on the Dnipro-Buh estuary in Mykolaiv region on the north-eastern outskirts of Ochakiv. At present, it has facilities for transshipment of goods in the amount of over 500,000 tonnes per year. The port has five berths with depths of up to 7.35 meters. As part of the investment project, it is planned to create one of the deep-water estuary ports on the Black Sea based on the existing small port. It is planned to construct coal and grain terminals in the port, as well as a terminal for transshipment of iron ore raw materials. It is planned also to deepen the port water area to 15-18 meters, as well as to lay 70 kilometers of an underwater railway line.
China Railway Construction Corporation (CRCC) is the second largest state-owned construction company in China. It is engaged in the construction of transport infrastructure, the production of special construction equipment, residential property, as well as logistics. The company has a representative office in Ukraine. Subdivisions of the company, within the relevant memorandums with the Infrastructure Ministry plan to implement projects in Ukraine for the development of railway infrastructure, as well as infrastructure for inland waterways.
Smart Holding owns 23.76% of the Metinvest mining and metallurgical group, some 95% of shares of the shipbuilding holding Smart Maritime Group, some 99.97% of shares of the trading and financial company Santis LLC. The company also owns large assets in the fuel and energy industry, development and agricultural sector.
The main beneficiary of Smart Holding is businessman Vadym Novinsky.

GERMAN ENERGY AGENCY DENA WILL COOPERATE WITH UKRAINE

The State Agency on Energy Efficiency and Energy Saving of Ukraine will continue cooperation with experts of the German energy agency DENA in the fields of energy efficiency and renewable energy, the press service of the Ukrainian agency has said.
According to the report, following negotiations between the two agencies with the participation of the Ministry of Energy, the areas of cooperation will include, in particular, the development of Ukraine’s potential for the use of hydrogen, the introduction of energy storage systems, the implementation of EU directives in the field of energy efficiency, and improving energy efficiency.
The report notes that DENA experts, in particular, pointed to Germany’s plans for the use of hydrogen and expressed their readiness to share their research in this direction with Ukraine.
The Ukrainian agency also noted that DENA had been selected as one of the partners in the implementation of future energy cooperation between Ukraine and Germany.
As reported, the Cabinet of Ministers adopted a resolution to sign a joint statement of intent between the government of Ukraine and the Federal Republic of Germany regarding the start of energy cooperation, authorizing Acting Energy Minister Olha Buslavets to sign it.

COUNCIL OF EUROPE READY TO COOPERATE WITH UKRAINE FOR IMPLEMENTATION OF BUDAPEST CONVENTION ON CYBERCRIME

Representatives of the Council of Europe have expressed their readiness for cooperation with Ukrainian law enforcement authorities in the field of the implementation of the provisions of the Budapest Convention on Cybercrime, ensuring the increase in the level of countering cybercrimes and investigating them. Head of the Cybercrime Division at the Council of Europe Alexander Seger gave this information after a meeting with the leadership of the Cyber Police Division of the National Police, the press service of the National Police of Ukraine has reported.
“We see that Ukrainian law enforcement agencies are interested in improving the situation with the legislative settlement of the issue of collecting digital evidence. We are ready to help in this by providing appropriate advice and sharing with the Ukrainian side the best practices that have already been implemented in the legislation of many European countries,” Seger said.
The Cyber Police Division presented its concept for the implementation of certain provisions of the convention, which are currently not available in Ukrainian legislation and which were supported by experts.
It is reported that cyber police, together with other executive bodies, is working with committees of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine to bring Ukrainian legislation in line with European one.
“The experience of countries that have fully implemented the Budapest Convention shows that such mechanisms significantly accelerate and increase the effectiveness of the police in countering and identifying persons committing crimes, including in cyberspace,” the cyber police said.

UKRAINIAN STATE AIR TRAFFIC SERVICES ENTERPRISE AND GERMAN THALES DEUTSCHLAND GMBH TO COOPERATE

The Ukrainian State Air Traffic Services Enterprise (UkSATSE) and the German company Thales Deutschland GmbH have signed an agreement to supply five sets of modern comprehensively targeted range-finding radio beacons, the UkSATSE said on its website. New beacons will be installed throughout Ukraine and will improve the quality of navigation services in the relevant areas of the airspace of Ukraine.
The project is funded by a credit from the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) and the European Investment Bank (EIB). Equipment was purchased in accordance with EBRD rules and procedures.
“The characteristics of all navigation devices installed by the UkSATSE comply with ICAO standards and recommended practices and the national certification requirements,” the report said.
The company also notes that the UkSATSE has been cooperating with the leading German manufacturer of air navigation equipment Thales for about 20 years.
