The report specifies that during the week the total area of agricultural land, from which the crops were harvested, increased by 4 percentage points (p.p.) – up to 76% of the previously planned areas.
In terms of crops harvesting of wheat, barley, peas and rapeseed is completed. Millet was harvested at 95% (no change within a week), buckwheat – 95% (no change), sunflower – 93% (+6 p.p.), soybeans – 91% (+6 p.p.), sugar beet – 83% (+10 p.p.), corn – 39% (+9 p.p.).

The crop was harvested from 55% of the planned areas, while a week earlier this figure was 49%.
“The harvest of 2022 continues. According to the latest data, 91% of wheat, 96% of barley, 97% of peas, and 98% of winter rapeseed have been harvested. The leaders in harvesting are Mykolaiv region – 86%, Odesa region – 85%, Volyn and Dnipropetrovsk regions – 70% each, Kirovohrad – 60%,” the ministry said in a statement.
In general, 17.4 million tonnes of wheat (2.0 million tonnes more in a week) were harvested from 4.3 million hectares (0.5 million hectares more), 5.3 million tonnes of barley (0.4 million tonnes more) from 1.5 million hectares (0.1 million hectares more) and 243,700 tonnes of peas (4,700 tonnes more) from 108,000 hectares (2,000 hectares more). According to the ministry, the average yield of wheat was 40.4 tonnes per ha, barley – 3.45 tonnes per ha, rapeseed – 2.84 tonnes per ha, millet – 2.39 tonnes per ha, peas – 2.26 tonnes per ha. At the same time, the highest average yield of grain and leguminous crops was recorded in Khmelnytsky region – 6.2 tonnes per ha.
Grain harvest in Ukraine in 2022 will be approximately 65 million tons, including up to 50 million tons of grains and 15-15.3 million tons of oilseeds, which is less than the record previous year, but comparable to the harvests harvested in the country in the current decade.
“Maybe about 48-50 million tons of grain in total. Of course, this is less than in previous years, when we are used to 60-75-85 million tons, but if we take a ten-year history, when we had 40-45 million , then this is not critical,” First Deputy Minister of Agrarian Policy and Food Taras Vysotsky said on the air of the national UA-marathon on Monday.
He specified that this season’s corn harvest is expected to be about 24 million tons, 18-20 million tons of wheat, and about 5 million tons of barley.
According to Vysotsky, it is also expected to produce about 10 million tons of sunflower, 2.5-2.8 million tons of soybeans and about 2.5 million tons of winter rapeseed.
“These are average indicators, looking at the average statistical indicators of previous years, and we will correct them upon the fact of harvesting,” the deputy minister specified.
As reported, the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA), in a report published last week for June, raised its forecast for Ukrainian corn crop this year by 5 million tons compared to a month ago forecast – up to 25 million tons, while maintaining export estimates at 9 million tons.

Grain crops traffic on the Dnipro River in January-July 2021 decreased by 23.8% compared to the same period in 2020, to 1.19 million tonnes, the total cargo traffic on the river increased by 38.7%, to 6.5 million tonnes, the river information service of the state-owned enterprise Delta-Pilot (Mykolaiv) said on its website last week.
