Pentagon Has Declassified Documents on UFOs

On Friday, the U.S. Department of Defense announced the initial release of new, previously unpublished files concerning unidentified anomalous phenomena (UAP).

This interagency effort involved the White House, the Office of the Director of National Intelligence, the Department of Energy, the FBI, NASA, and other U.S. agencies.

The materials are available on the website WAR.GOV/UFO, and additional new files will be released by the Pentagon on an ongoing basis, the statement noted.

“This release is the result of President Donald Trump’s directive to begin the process of identifying and declassifying government files related to UAPs in the interest of ensuring full transparency. No other president or administration in history has provided this level of transparency regarding UAPs,” the department stated.

The Pentagon reported that Americans can now instantly access declassified federal government files related to UFOs.

It is noted, however, that while all files have been vetted for security purposes, many materials have not yet been analyzed to identify any anomalies.

“The Department of Defense is working closely with President Trump to ensure unprecedented transparency regarding our government’s understanding of unidentified anomalous phenomena,” said U.S. Secretary of Defense Pete Hegset. “These files, hidden among classified documents, have long fueled legitimate speculation; it is time for the American people to see them with their own eyes.”

“Today’s release is the first in an ongoing joint effort to declassify and publish these materials,” said Director of National Intelligence Tulsi Gabbard, adding that the American people have long sought transparency regarding what the government knows about unidentified anomalous phenomena.

FBI Director Kash Patel, for his part, stated that his agency “remains committed to supporting this ongoing declassification work with the same diligence and integrity we apply to all matters of national security.”

NASA Administrator Jared Isaacman also welcomed Trump’s efforts to ensure greater transparency regarding unidentified anomalous phenomena. “Our mission at NASA is to engage the brightest minds and the most advanced scientific instruments, track the data, and share what we learn. We will be candid about what we know, what we still need to understand, and what remains to be discovered. Exploration and the pursuit of knowledge are at the heart of NASA’s mission as we strive to unravel the mysteries of the universe,” he said.

Ukraine and SEPA payment system: have documents been submitted and what prospects for accession?

On October 6, 2025, the SEPA (Single Euro Payments Area) payment system officially began operating in Montenegro, allowing transfers in euros to be made at uniform European rates and with minimal fees.

Ukraine is already actively preparing to join SEPA (Single Euro Payments Area). At the moment, the country is not yet a full member of SEPA, but significant legislative and technical preparations are already underway. Below is what is known today and what the prospects may be.

In June 2025, Ukraine officially announced its intention to join SEPA. At that time, it was announced that the relevant plans and draft laws had been submitted to the Verkhovna Rada. Draft law No. 13233 “On Amendments to the Legislative Acts of Ukraine to Ensure Compliance with European Rules and EPC (European Payments Council) Criteria for Joining SEPA” was submitted. In April 2025, the Cabinet of Ministers approved a package of draft laws aimed at harmonizing Ukrainian legislation with EU requirements in the field of anti-money laundering, ensuring transparency and security of payments — an important step towards officially applying for SEPA.

The European Business Association (EBA Ukraine) publicly supports the bill on Ukraine’s accession to SEPA, but requests revisions to a number of provisions relating to financial monitoring, reporting regulations, and data protection.

The National Bank of Ukraine already has a new generation of payment infrastructure (SEP system, ISO 20022 standard) with 24/7 support for SCT (Credit Transfer) schemes, which is considered part of the preparation for SEPA. There are plans to introduce instant payments in euros.

According to experts, market participants (citizens and businesses) will be able to save €70–100 million annually by reducing fees for euro transfers. For businesses, this means lower costs for cross-border payments, simplified financial flows, and fewer intermediaries. For citizens, it means faster payments in euros within SEPA, more transparent conditions, and, possibly, lower transaction fees.

Key current challenges:

  1. Regulatory and legal changes
  2. Ukrainian legislation must be brought into line with EU standards and EPC rules: requirements for AML (anti-money laundering), disclosure of information, data protection, and financial monitoring.
  3. Infrastructure readiness
  4. Banking systems, payment gateways, ISO 20022 compliance, and message transfer processes must all be technically reliable and compatible with European standards.
  5. Integration timelines
  6. Even after the laws are passed, a transition period will be needed to implement new systems, test them, and integrate banks and fintech companies.

SEPA (Single Euro Payments Area) is a single area for cashless payments in euros, including the EU, EEA, Switzerland, the UK, Andorra, Vatican City, San Marino, and now Serbia and Montenegro.

The main goal of SEPA is to simplify and reduce the cost of euro transfers by ensuring the same rules and terms for all participants.

Losses of documents of Ukraine’s archive fund as result of war amount to 1.5% at present

The head of the State Archive Service of Ukraine, Anatoliy Khromov, says that as of today, losses of documents of the National Archive Fund as a result of a full-scale war amount to up to 1.5%.
“Ukraine in 2022 has done much more to preserve its own archives compared to 1941 and to 2014. Obviously, there are huge threats, but now we estimate the loss of documents of the National Archive Fund to be up to 1.5% of the total array of those documents stored until February 24, 2022,” Khromov said at a briefing on Thursday.
In particular, according to him, because of the fire in the archival unit in the Chernihiv office of the Security Service of Ukraine, up to 13 thousand documents were actually lost, first of all those of the repressive bodies of the communist totalitarian regime.
Also, according to him, since the beginning of the full-scale war, damage to the archive premises without loss of documents has been recorded in Kharkiv, Mykolayiv and Kherson regions.
In addition, Khromov said that as a result of the temporary occupation of Kherson the regional archive was seized and looted, he noted that the loss of these documents is not irretrievable. In particular, about half of the files from the Kherson archive were stolen and later taken to Crimea.
In addition, he said, at the moment there is no information about more than 120 archival institutions, which are either under occupation or in frontline zones.
