Milk production in Ukraine in January-April 2019 decreased by 2.3% compared with January-April 2018, to 2.769 million tonnes.
According to the State Statistics Service, meat (live weight) production in the country was 1.138 million tonnes, which is 5% more than in January-April 2018.
Egg production increased by 7.3%, to 5.344 billion pieces.
Ovostar Union agro-industrial group, one of the leading manufacturers of eggs and egg products in Ukraine, in 2018 opened a subsidiary in Dubai and bought two companies in Ukraine, the group reported in its annual financial report. “The group exports a large number of eggs and egg products to the United Arab Emirates. Assessing the potential and prospects for further expansion into the UAE market, in 2018 the group decided to open a company in Dubai. The charter capital was $28,000. The group owns 100% of OAE Food Trade FZE,” the report says.
According to the report, the volume of exports to the countries of the Middle East amounted to 26% of total sales.
In addition, in June 2018 Ovostar bought BVV Equipment LLC and BV Trading LLC (both based in Rokytne, Kyiv region). The purchase price was $2.1 million and $1.2 million, respectively. The goodwill of the enterprise is $51,000 and entirely belongs to the egg segment of the group.
According to the state register of legal entities and individual entrepreneurs, both enterprises are registered in 2016. The core business is production of food that are not assigned to other groups. The final beneficiaries are Borys Belikov and Vitaliy Veresenko.
Milk production in Ukraine in January and February 2019 (excluding the temporarily occupied territory of Crimea and Sevastopol, part of the Joint Forces Operation (JFO) area) decreased by 1.6% compared with January and February 2018, to 1.14 million tonnes.
According to the State Statistics Service, meat (live weight) production in the country was 558,500 tonnes, which is 4% more than in January and February 2018.
Egg production increased by 6.8%, to 2.263 billion pieces.
The production of milk in Ukraine in January-November 2018 declined by 1.9% compared to the same period in 2017, to 9.457 million tonnes. At the same time, egg production in January-November grew by 3.3% compared to the same period in 2017, to 14.982 billion eggs, the State Statistics Service of Ukraine said.
Production of meat (in live weight) in January-November 2018 grew by 0.8%, to 2.88 million tonnes.
According to earlier statistics reports, milk production in Ukraine in 2017 decreased by 0.5% from 2016, to 10.329 million tonnes, meat (in live weight) by 0.4%, to 3.259 million tonnes. Production of eggs in 2017 rose by 3.2%, to 15.578 billion eggs.

The production of milk in Ukraine (excluding the temporarily occupied Crimea and Sevastopol, part of Donbas) in January-October 2018 declined by 2.1% compared to the same period in 2017, to 8.736 million tonnes.
At the same time, egg production in the first ten months grew by 3.1% compared to the same period in 2017, to 13.777 billion eggs, the State Statistics Service of Ukraine said.
Production of meat (in live weight) in January-October 2018 grew by 0.6%, to 2.572 million tonnes.
