The leading Ukrainian enterprise for the production of hydraulic power machines JSC Hydrosila (Kropyvnytskyi) reduced the daily volume of electricity consumption by 50% compared to the figures before the full-scale invasion of the Russian Federation into Ukraine and by 30% compared to the beginning of the invasion – to 45-47 thousand kW -h, said the Federation of Employers of Ukraine (FUE).
“By the beginning of the full-scale invasion, the daily volume of electricity consumption at the Hydrosila plant was 95-100 thousand kWh, since the beginning of the invasion this figure had dropped to 65-68 thousand kWh. With the introduction of restrictions, the question arose of further reducing consumption . Today (…) it is 45-47 thousand kWh,” the FRU said on Facebook on Friday, citing company information.
According to the report, as part of the reduction in energy consumption, the company, in particular, switched to increased work in the second and third shifts (ie, actually at night) to reduce the load during “peak hours” and reduce financial costs.
In addition, a number of technical processes have been revised, which also allowed to “win” a share of the electricity costs.
The company noted that during air raids, all employees are in shelter.
Hydrosila JSC is a developer and manufacturer of hydraulic power machines and hydraulic system components, part of the Hydrosila Group of businessman Pavel Shtutman.
According to the company’s report to the National Securities and Stock Market Commission, in 2021 it increased its net profit by 58.4% by 2020 – up to UAH 13.45 million, with a 27.6% increase in net income – up to UAH 654.24 million.
Electricity consumption in Ukraine in 2021, taking into account in-process losses in networks, increased by 5.7% (by 8.391 billion kWh) compared to 2020 – to 154.826 billion kWh, according to the data of the Ministry of Energy.
According to the calculations of the Interfax-Ukraine agency, excluding technological losses, electricity consumption over the past year increased by 6.4% – up to 125.483 billion kWh.
The country’s industry, excluding technological losses, increased electricity consumption by 6% – up to 52.274 billion kWh. Metallurgical industry consumed 28.873 billion kWh (more 6.4% from 2020), fuel – 3.262 billion kWh (more 0.9%), machine building – 3.522 billion kWh (up 11.3%), chemical and petrochemical – 4.349 billion kWh (up 4.6%), food and processing – 4.405 billion kWh (up 1.5%), construction materials – 2.670 billion kWh (up 14.4%), others – 5.194 billion kWh (up 5%).
In addition, agricultural enterprises consumed 3.692 billion kWh (down 2.8%), transport – 6.171 billion kWh (up 8%), construction – 1.064 billion kWh (up 11.2%).
The country’s population last year consumed 38.659 billion kWh (up 5.8%), household consumers – 15.024 billion kWh (up 5.8%), other non-industrial consumers – 8.599 billion kWh (up 16.5%).
The share of industry in the total electricity consumption in 2021 decreased to 41.7% from 41.8%, and the share of the population – to 30.8% from 31%.
In December 2021, electricity consumption, taking into account technological losses, increased by 1.7% compared to the same month of 2020 – to 15.344 billion kWh, excluding technological losses – by 1.7%, to 11.890 billion kWh.
Electricity consumption in Ukraine, taking into account in-process losses in power grids, increased by 6.7% in January-May 2021 (by 4.163 billion kWh) compared to the same period in 2020, to 65.913 billion kWh, according to data from the Energy Ministry.
According to the calculations of Interfax-Ukraine, excluding in-process losses, electricity consumption for the specified period increased by 8.2% (by 4.073 billion kWh), to 53.761 billion kWh.
The country’s industry, excluding in-process losses, boosted electricity consumption by 7.3%, to 21.709 billion kWh. In particular, metallurgical industry consumed 11.853 billion kWh (4.6% more compared to January-May 2020), the fuel industry some 1.397 billion kWh (3.9% more), machine-building industry some 1.612 billion kWh (18.7% more), chemical and petrochemical some 1.83 billion kWh (12.1% more), food and processing some 1.746 billion kWh (1% more), building materials some 1.025 billion kWh (22.5% more), others some 2.247 billion kWh (12.4% more).
In addition, agricultural enterprises consumed 1.445 billion kWh (0.9% more), transport some 2.619 million kWh (8.2% more), construction some 501.1 million kWh (23.8% more).
In January-May 2021, the country’s population consumed 17.469 billion kWh (7.5% more), households some 6.384 billion kWh (8.1% more), other non-industrial consumers some 3.635 billion (18.8% more).
According to the results of the first five months, the share of industry in the total volume of electricity consumption decreased from 40.7% to 40.4%, while the share of the population increased from 32.7% to 32.5%.
In May 2021, electricity consumption, taking into account in-process losses, increased by 3.1% (by 338 million kWh) compared to the same month of 2020, to 11.183 billion kWh, excluding in-process losses, by 9.6% (by 848.8 million kWh), to 9.713 billion kWh.
