STATE-RUN ENERGOATOM SEES 2.9-FOLD DROP IN NET PROFIT IN JAN-JUNEE

The National Nuclear Generating Company Energoatom in January-June 2019 saw 2.9 times less in net profit compared to the same period in 2018 (by UAH 2.72 billion). It now totals UAH 1.114 billion.
According to a company report in the information disclosure system of the National Commission for Securities and the Stock Market, in January-June 2019, its net revenue totaled UAH 23.060 billion, which is 12.3% more than a year ago (UAH 28.559 billion). Gross profit of Energoatom grew by 8.4% or UAH 435.6 million, to UAH 5.601 billion.
As reported, the company in January-June 2019 increased electricity generation by 6.5% compared to the same period of 2018, to 42.776 billion kWh.
Energoatom is the operator of all four Ukrainian-based operating nuclear power plants, which have 15 VVER reactors with an overall generating capacity of 13.835 gigawatts.

UKRAINIAN ENERGOATOM SIGNS MEMO OF COOPERATION WITH FRANCE’S TECHNETICS GROUP

National Nuclear Generating Company Energoatom and France’s Technetics Group have signed a memorandum of cooperation in the nuclear and energy sphere.
The press service of Energoatom reported that the agreement was signed on June 19, 2019 in Brussels.
During the talks, the parties pointed out their interest in establishing direct business relations between the enterprises and reached arrangements on this issue. Representatives of Energoatom notified the Technetics Group about their interest in purchasing spare parts for pipeline fittings and pneumatic power drives made by the French company.
The Technetics Group is part of the EnPro Industries group of companies. It is a large supplier of engineered industrial products, sealing solutions for nuclear energy, heat energy, semiconductor, aerospace and biomedical industries.
At the end of June, President of Energoatom Yuriy Nedashkovsky, together with CEOs of the leaders of the nuclear industry of the European Union signed a joint manifesto on preventing climate change and maintaining the economic efficiency of the EU energy industry.

ENERGOATOM INCREASES POWER GENERATION IN JAN-APRIL

National Nuclear Generating Company Energoatom increased power generation by 9.9% year-on-year in January-April 2019, to 30.365 billion kWh, the company has said.
The electricity generation target was met by 100.3%.
Electricity sales totaled 22.294 billion kWh compared to 28.643 billion kWh in January-April 2018. Energoatom’s share of total electricity sold to Energomarket state enterprise was 56%, and the share of total electricity generation in the country was 54%.
The company sold electricity worth UAH 19.771 billion (including VAT) on the wholesale power market, which is 15.6% more than in January-April 2018.
Capital investment totaled UAH 2.112 billion compared with UAH 2.739 billion in January-April 2018.
The company sent UAH 5.637 billion to the budgets of all levels and insurance payments came to UAH 880 million.
Capacity use was 76%, which was 6.9 p.p. more than a year previously.
Five malfunctions were recorded at Ukrainian nuclear power plants in the reporting period, two less than a year ago. Radiation levels at Ukrainian NPPs were normal over the period.
Energoatom is the operator of all four Ukrainian-based operating nuclear power plants, which have 15 VVER reactors with an overall generating capacity of 13.835 gigawatts.
The company also operates the Tashlyk hydroelectric pumped storage power plant with a 302 MW capacity in a turbine mode and Oleksandrivka hydropower plant with an 11.5 MW capacity.

ENERGOATOM ANNOUNCES TENDER TO BUILD SOLAR PLANT NEAR NUCLEAR POWER PLANT

Energoatom has announced a tender for the supply of equipment and materials for the solar power plant Sonechko-1, which is to be built in the territory of Zaporizhia nuclear power plant (NPP).
According to the ProZorro system, the corresponding auction is scheduled for June 24. The expected cost of work is UAH 270.52 million.
Energoatom proposes to supply 48,900 single-crystal or polycrystalline Risen photovoltaic modules with a capacity of 310–320 W, some 360 network inverters, 13 complete substations of 0.4/6 kV and one substation of 35/6kV, as well as 119,300 meters of copper cable.
Energoatom announced the intention to build a solar plant with a capacity of about 15 MW at Zaporizhia NPP in 2017. Since then, there have been preparatory work: design, geodetic studies. It was assumed that the solar station will be located on 37 hectares, in the territory of hydraulic structures between the cooling pond and the Kaniv water reservoir.

ENERGOATOM INCREASES POWER GENERATION BY 10%

National Nuclear Generating Company Energoatom increased power generation by 10% year-on-year in January and February 2019, to 15.989 billion kWh, the company has said.
The electricity generation target was met by 100.5%.
Electricity sales totaled 15.098 billion kWh compared to 13.722 billion kWh in January and February 2018. Energoatom’s share of total electricity sold to Energomarket state enterprise was 55.8%, and the share of total electricity generation in the country was 54.2%.
The company sold electricity worth UAH 10.4 billion (including VAT) on the wholesale power market, which is 15.7% more than in January and February 2018.
Capital investment totaled UAH 808.2 million compared with UAH 1.479 billion in January and February 2018.
The company sent UAH 2.275 billion to the budgets of all levels and insurance payments came to UAH 363.2 million.
Capacity use was 81.4%, which was 7.4 p.p. more than a year previously.
Three malfunctions were recorded at Ukrainian nuclear power plants in the reporting period, one less than a year ago. Radiation levels at Ukrainian NPPs were normal over the period.

The electricity generation target was met by 100%.
Electricity sales totaled 7.661 billion kWh compared to 6.842 billion kWh in January 2018. Energoatom’s share of total electricity sold to Energomarket state enterprise was 53%, and the share of total electricity generation in the country was 52%.
The company sold electricity worth UAH 5.279 billion (including VAT) on the wholesale power market, which is 17.7% more than in January 2018.
Capital investment totaled UAH 363.8 million compared with UAH 514.7 million in January 2018.
The company sent UAH 557.2 million to the budgets of all levels and insurance payments came to UAH 141.7 million.
Capacity use was 78.6%, which was 8.3 p.p. more than a year previously.
