VASYL KHMELNYTSKY’S K.FUND OPENS IT SCHOOL UNIT FACTORY IN KHARKIV

Vasyl Khmelnytsky’s K.Fund is about to open UNIT Factory, a school for programmers in Kharkiv, K.Fund’s press service told Interfax-Ukraine on Thursday.
K.Fund notes that UNIT Factory will prepare programmers using its own ucode curriculum, one of the key features of which is the challenge-based learning methods, that is, solving real-life problems for obtaining applied knowledge.
“This methodology was initiated by Apple and is used in the Apple Developer Academy where students not only learn how to write code, but also create ready-to-market products,” it said.
In addition, it indicates that in the new UNIT Factory campus in Kharkiv, students will be able to master such programming languages and technologies as C, C++, Web (HTML, CSS, JS, PHP) and Java. Duration of training is from one to two years (depending on the progress of a student).
Participants for the UNIT Factory program will be qualified through a so-called marathon, which will last about a month and will start on September 30, 2019 (in total, three marathons are planned this year), K.Fund said.
Training will begin in the middle of January 2020 and will cost UAH 15,000 per calendar year. Any person who is 17 or older can register for the qualification stage.

K.Fund was founded by Ukrainian businessman Vasyl Khmelnytsky in 2015 to support projects in the field of education and economics.
UNIT Factory is a project of K.Fund, founded by Vasyl Khmelnytsky, and supported by a non-profit public organization, Osvіtorіa. Its mission is to promote Ukraine’s innovative development through training of IT professionals.

ROSHEN CONFECTIONERY WILL INVEST UAH 160 MLN IN FACTORY RECONSTRUCTION

Roshen Corporation will allocate UAH 160.4 million for the second stage of reconstruction of Kyiv Confectionary Factory Roshen, PrJSC Kyiv Confectionery Factory Roshen said in the information disclosure system of the National Commission on Securities and the Stock Market. According to the company, the funds will be used for landscaping the territory with the arrangement of a fountain in the territory of the confectionery factory at 1 Nauky Avenue in Holosiyivsky district of the capital. The general contractor of the work is European Construction Technologies LLC.
As reported, Roshen in 2018 announced the investment of UAH 90 million in the creation of a public space in the territory of the factory. The provisional name of the reconstruction project is Roshen Plaza.
According to the company, the factory does not cease to exist, but its capacity is reduced. Part of the production premises will remain in the factory’s territory, the company’s office and public facilities will be located in one of the buildings.
Roshen Corporation is one of the top 30 largest confectionery manufacturers in the world.
The Roshen network in Ukraine includes 50 stores in five regions of Ukraine. The first one opened in Kyiv in 2009. The corporation annually opens five or six stores.

AUTOMAGISTRAL-YUG LAUNCHES ASPHALT CONCRETE FACTORY IN DNIPROPETROVSK REGION

Odesa-based Automagistral-Yug has launched an asphalt concrete factory in Novomoskovsk, Dnipropetrovsk region, the company’s press service has reported.
According to the report, the factory is the 15th production facility of the company in Ukraine and the fourth in Dnipropetrovsk region.
“The factory in Novomoskovsk is built at our industrial base. We have completely restored our facility – we have overhauled and equipped a dormitory for 120 people, renewed the railway tracks, the laboratory and the repair base. About UAH 60 million was invested in construction of the factory. The total investment in production facilities in Dnipropetrovsk region is approaching UAH 150-170 million over the past few years,” Director General of Automagistral-Yug Mykola Tymofeyev said.
According to the company, the production capacity of the factory in Novomoskovsk is 240 tonnes of asphalt per hour. The new enterprise will allow the company to implement the construction of high-speed highway H-31 (Dnipro-Kobeliaky-Reshetylivka). According to the director general, the company began work on the highway last year and should build 57 km of the first category road with four lanes within several years.
Automagistral-Yug LLC was registered in 2006. According to the company’s website, it owns 10 factories producing asphalt mixes, eight own production bases of the construction divisions of the enterprise in six regions of Ukraine.

CEREALS PRODUCER AGRICOM LAUNCHES OAT FLAKE FACTORY WORTH $10.5 MLN IN CHERNIHIV REGION

Agricom Group on May 16, 2018, launched a factory to produce flakes from oats and other types of cereals under the Dobrodiya trademark in the village of Mykhailo-Kotsiubynske in Chernihiv region. The project is estimated at $10.5 million, the company’s press service said. This includes 40% of the company’s own funds and 60% are loans.
The construction lasted for more than three years, it said. “Way back in 2014, it was decided to start production of value-added products. It took almost four years to move from the idea to the implementation of the project, and now we are again thinking about new goals,” CEO of Agricom Group Petro Melnyk said. The production capacity of the factory is one million kg per month.
The Group has a full cycle of production: from cleaning, peeling, grinding, hydrothermal processing, cutting, rolling and to packing in various types of packaging.
Agricom Group produces and distributes food made of cereals. It combines agricultural, processing and trading enterprises. The Group tills 40,000 hectares in Rivne, Chernihiv and Luhansk regions. Its storage capacities are represented by two facilities for 63,000 tonnes.
