The main pipe enterprises of Ukraine in 2021 increased the production of pipes made of ferrous metals, according to operational data, by 15.1% compared to the previous year, to 980,700 tonnes, including 78,800 tonnes produced in December tonnes.
As a source in the government told Interfax-Ukraine, in particular, enterprises of the Ukrtruboprom association last year increased pipe production by 32.6%, to 710,500 tonnes, including 65,800 tonnes produced in December.
At the same time, the source said that after the pipe-rolling production of Interpipe Nyzhniodniprovsky Pipe Rolling Plant formally became part of Interpipe Niko Tube from April 2021, the statistics of pipe production at these enterprises changed. In accordance with the updated statistics, there was no production of pipes at Interpipe Interpipe Nyzhniodniprovsky Pipe Rolling Plant in June-December 2021, while at Interpipe Niko Tube it amounted to 57,000 tonnes last month, and in 2021 it doubled to 592,500 tonnes.
The production of pipes at Interpipe Interpipe Novomoskovsk Pipe Plant over the past year decreased by 24.3%, to 59,400 tonnes (in December it was 6,700 tonnes).
The Dnipropetrovsk Pipe Plant was idle last year, while in 2020 it produced 300 tonnes. Centravis reduced production by 2.2%, to 18,000 tonnes of stainless steel pipes (1,900 tonnes in December).
The Trubostal plant increased its output by 17.6% – up to 2 thousand tonnes of pipes (0.2 thousand tonnes).
Mariupol Illich Iron and Steel Works, which is not part of the Ukrtruboprom association, reduced the production of pipes by 28.7%, to 108,600 tonnes (in December it was 100 tonnes), Kominmet cut output by 1.3%, up to 161,600 tonnes (12,900 tonnes in December).
Metallurgical enterprises of Ukraine in 2021 increased revenues from the export of ferrous metals by 81.4% compared to 2020, to $13.951 billion.
According to the updated statistics released by the State Customs Service on Friday, ferrous metals accounted for 20.49% of total merchandise export earnings over this period, compared to 15.63% in 2020.
In December, proceeds from the export of ferrous metals amounted to $1.34 billion.
At the same time, Ukraine increased imports of ferrous metals by 48.8% in 2021, to $1.547 billion. In December, this figure was $140.660 million.
In addition, in 2021, Ukraine increased the export of metal products by 43%, to $1.293 billion. In December, metal products for $128.729 million were delivered.
Imports of metal products over the past year grew by 28%, to $1.126 billion. In December, metal products for $116.609 million were imported.
As reported, Ukrainian steel enterprises in 2020 reduced revenues from the export of ferrous metals by 12% compared to the previous year, to $7.69 billion. At the same time, Ukraine in 2020 reduced imports of ferrous metals by 17%, to $1.04 billion.
In addition, Ukraine in 2020 reduced the export of metal products by 13.2%, to $904.533 million. Over the year, imports of metal products fell by 20%, to $879.687 million.
Metallurgical enterprises of Ukraine in January-March 2021 increased receipts from exports of ferrous metals by 29.7% compared to the same period last year, to $2.670 billion.
According to updated statistics released by the State Customs Service on Friday, ferrous metals accounted for 19.44% of total receipts from the export of goods during this period versus 16.79% in the first three months of 2020.
In March, revenues from exports of ferrous metals amounted to $1.160 billion.
At the same time, Ukraine in January-March 2021 reduced imports of similar products by 3.9%, to $214.215 million. In March, this figure was $92.685 million.
In addition, Ukraine in January-March 2021 increased the export of metal products by 10.4%, to $236.069 million. In March, metal products for $ 95.530 million were delivered.
During this period, the import of metal products increased by 6.5%, to $209.229 million. In March, metal products for $83.853 million were imported.
Ukrainian metal companies in January-March 2021 increased earnings from exports of ferrous metals by 30% compared to the same period last year, to $2.67 billion.
According to updated statistics released by the State Customs Service, in March, earnings from exports of ferrous metals amounted to $1.16 billion.
At the same time, Ukraine reduced imports of similar products by 4.5% in January-March 2021, to $214.2 million. In March, this figure was $92.68 million.
In addition, Ukraine increased exports of metal products by 10.7% in the first three months of 2021, to $229.46 million. In March, their export amounted to $90.79 million.
During this period, imports of metal products increased by 7.7%, to $207.94 million. In March, they were imported for $82.66 million.
As reported, in 2020, Ukrainian metal companies reduced earnings from exports of ferrous metals by 12% compared to the previous year, to $7.690 billion. At the same time, Ukraine in 2020 reduced imports of similar products by 17%, to $1.040 billion.
Ukrainian metal companies in January-February 2021 increased earnings from exports of ferrous metals by 8.2% compared to the same period last year, to $1.51 billion.
According to updated statistics released by the State Customs Service, the share of ferrous metals of total FX earnings was 17.82% compared with 17.2% a year ago.
In February, earnings from exports of ferrous metals amounted to $764.6 million.
At the same time, Ukraine reduced imports of similar products by 12.1% in January-February 2021, to $121.53 million. In February, this figure was $63.798 million.
In addition, Ukraine increased exports of metal products by 5.7% in the first two months of 2021, to $140.613 million. In February, their export amounted to $77.148 million.
During this period, imports of metal products increased by 1.4%, to $125.407 million. In February, they were imported for $72.504 million.
As reported, in 2020, Ukrainian metal companies reduced earnings from exports of ferrous metals by 12% compared to the previous year, to $7.690 billion. At the same time, Ukraine in 2020 reduced imports of similar products by 17%, to $1.040 billion.
Metallurgical enterprises of Ukraine in January this year increased receipts from exports of ferrous metals by 4.5% compared to the same period last year, to $745.530 million.
According to updated statistics released by the State Customs Service on Tuesday, ferrous metals for this period accounted for 18.98% of total revenues from exports of goods versus 17.16% in the first month of last year.
In December, revenues from exports of ferrous metals amounted to $714.503 million.
At the same time, in January this year, Ukraine reduced imports of similar products by 10.6%, to $57.732 million. In December, this figure was $87.321 million.
In addition, in January 2021, Ukraine cut exports of metal products by 0.5%, to $63.522 million. In December, metal products for $84.921 million were delivered.
During this period, imports of metal products decreased 6.6%, to $52.909 million. In December, metal products for $82.833 million were imported.
