ERNEST AIRLINES OPENS REGULAR FLIGHTS FROM KHARKIV TO ROME AND MILAN FROM MARCH 2019

Ernest Airlines (Italy) on March 21, 2019 plans to start operating regular flights from Kharkiv International Airport to Rome and Milan, the airport’s press service has reported.
Departure from Kharkiv will be three times a week on Thursdays, Fridays, and Sundays. The price of a one way ticket will start from EUR45, including hand luggage and taxes.
As reported, in September 2018 passenger traffic in Kharkiv airport was 88,900 people, which is 12% more than in the same period of 2017. In 2017 Kharkiv airport increased passenger traffic to 806,100 people (in 2016 the figure was 599,700 people.) In 2018 it is planned to raise it by another 12% (to 900,000 people).
In July 2018, passenger traffic amounted to 104,500 people, which is 20% more than in the same period of 2017 (87,200).
Kharkiv Airport has a runway with a length of 2,500 meters and a width of 50 meters. It has two passenger terminals with a capacity of 100 and 650 people per hour.

CHINESE MYWAY AIRLINES TO LAUNCH FLIGHTS TO KYIV FROM TBILISI ON OCT 5

The new Georgian Myway Airlines from October 5, 2018 will launch regular flights to Kyiv (the Boryspil international airport) from Tbilisi, the airline wrote on its Facebook page on September 12. The regular Tbilisi-Kyiv-Tbilisi flights will be serviced twice a week – on Mondays and Fridays. From October 24, Myway will add one more flight on Wednesdays.
Myway Airlines was founded in 2018. It is a project of China’s Hualing Group.
Its fleet consists of two Boeing 737-80 aircraft.

DUBAI-BASED FLYDUBAI TO OPERATE DOUBLE DAILY FLIGHTS FROM KYIV TO DUBAI

Dubai-based flydubai on September 6 announced that it would move its existing operations from Kyiv Sikorsky International Airport to Boryspil International Airport with effect from October 28, 2018. “Ukraine remains an important market for the airline. From October 2, double daily flights will be available between Kyiv and Dubai,” the company said in a statement on its website.
flydubai launched its operations to Ukraine in 2013 and offers 17 weekly flights from Kyiv and Odesa to Dubai.
“Through flydubai’s expanded codeshare partnership with Emirates, Ukrainian passengers also are offered unmatched travel options via Dubai’s aviation hub,” the company said.
According to the announcement, the company will use a new Boeing 737 MAX 8 on the Kyiv route.
Emirates will codeshare on this route as part of the Emirates flydubai partnership announced in July 2017.
“Another good news for Boryspil and its passengers. Terminal F will still be filled from next year,” Ukrainian Infrastructure Minister Volodymyr Omelyan commented on the announcement.
flydubai carries out more than 1,700 flights per week to more than 90 destinations in 48 countries.

TURKISH AIRLINES INCREASES FREQUENCY OF ODESA-ISTANBUL FLIGHTS TO 21 TIMES A WEEK

Turkish Airlines from September 25, 2018 will increase the frequency of Odesa-Istanbul flights by three, to 21 times a week.
According to the airline’s press release, flights will be operated according to the following schedule: daily departure from Istanbul at 07:55 and 19:10, from Odesa at 10:25 and 21:35; on Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays and Saturdays with departure from Istanbul at 00:50 and from Odesa at 3:20; and also on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Sundays with departure from Istanbul at 13:10 and from Odesa at 15:40 local time.
As reported, Turkish Airlines in 2017 served more than 600,000 passengers on its own flights to/from Ukraine, which is 18% more than in 2016.
The flight schedule of Turkish Airlines in Ukraine covers Kyiv, Odesa, Lviv, Zaporizhia, Kherson and Kharkiv.
Turkish Airlines (Türk Hava Yolları, THY) was established in 1933 with a fleet of five aircraft. For today has an air fleet of 329 passenger and cargo aircraft.

HUNGARY’S LOW COST WIZZ AIR ADDS FLIGHTS FROM KYIV TO BREMEN, RIGA, BILLUND, FROM LVIV TO COPENHAGEN, FRANKFURT-HAHN

The destination map of flights of Hungary’s low cost airline Wizz Air from Kyiv has been expanded by three new destinations – to Bremen (Germany), Riga (Latvia) and Billund (Denmark) where the Legoland center is located, as well as flights from Kyiv to Copenhagen (Denmark) and Frankfurt-Hahn (Germany). According to a posting on the airline’s website, flights to these cities will be launched from March 2019 (to Frankfurt-Hahn from December 14, 2018).
Two flights a week to Bremen and Billund will be serviced and three to Riga.
The cost of tickets to Billund and Riga starts from UAH 449 in March and UAH 909 later on less convenient working days, and from UAH 1,509 on weekends, to Bremen – from UAH 909 on working days and UAH 1,209 on weekends.
Thus, the total number of Wizz Air’s destinations from Kyiv would reach 26, including nine to Germany and two to Denmark.
In addition, flights from Lviv to Copenhagen will be serviced on Wednesdays and Sundays from March 3, 2019, flights to Frankfurt-Hahn – on Mondays and Fridays from December 14, 2018. The prices start from UAH 759.
Wizz Air also plans to increase the number of flights on the Kyiv-Lisbon route from two to three.

WIZZ AIR TO LAUNCH FLIGHTS FROM LVIV TO VILNIUS, BRATISLAVA, FROM KHARKIV TO GDANSK, WROCLAW

Hungary’s low cost airline Wizz Air from October 2018 will service flights from Lviv to Vilnius and Bratislava, and from Kharkiv to Gdansk and Wroclaw. The press service of the airline reported that Ukrainian passenger can book tickets on the airline’s website at the prices starting from UAH 299 for a one-way ticket, taking into account all taxes and duties.
Flights from Lviv to Vilnius will be serviced from October 29 on Mondays and Fridays; from Lviv to Bratislava – from October 30 on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays.
Flights from Kharkiv to Gdansk and Wroclaw will be serviced on Wednesdays and Sundays from October 28, 2018.
“We will now service regular flights from the Kharkiv international airport on four Polish routes, and we hope that direct flights to cities such as Wroclaw and Gdansk will open even more opportunities for our passengers: both in the tourism industry and in education, culture, entrepreneurship and others,” Commercial Director for Aviation Activities of the Kharkiv international airport (managed by New Systems AM, a member of the DCH group of businessman Oleksandr Yaroslavsky) Vladyslav Ilyin said.
