Bravo Airways will launch regular flights to Lublin from Kyiv, Kharkiv and Kherson from June 15, 2018. “We open new flights to Lublin from June 15, which will allow in 1.5 hours safely, comfortably and without changing to get from the airports of Kyiv, Kherson and Kharkiv to Lublin and back,” the airline said on Facebook.
The cost of flights starts from UAH 1,300. The fare also includes transportation of hand luggage and the ability to carry up to 23 kg of luggage free of charge. Regular flights will be available to both directions three times a week from Kyiv and Kherson and twice from Kharkiv.
As reported, earlier Bravo Airways launched charter flights from Kherson to Dalaman (Turkey). Bravo Airways was founded in April 2012. Its core business is passenger transportation on regular and charter routes. Since its founding, Bravo Airways has transported more than 500,000 passengers. The aircraft of the airline are based at Kyiv Zhuliany International Airport.
Brussels Airlines (Belgium) from October 17, 2018 will launch regular flights between Kyiv and Brussels, the airline has said. “Due to visa liberalization in Ukraine and the policy of the country close to the EU, during the last two years the demand for flights between Kyiv and Brussels has increased significantly. In order to meet the growing demand, Brussels Airlines launches direct air connection between Kyiv and Brussels and offers four flights a week,” the report says.
According to the press service of the air carrier, flights will be performed on board Airbus aircraft four times a week on Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays, and Sundays.
Brussels Airlines is the largest airline and national air carrier of Belgium. It is a subsidiary of Lufthansa, which owns 45% of SN Airholding, which owns Brussels Airlines.
Boryspil International Airport expects to receive an additional UAH 15-20 million of revenue from aviation activities due to servicing additional flights on the day of the UEFA Champions League final in Kyiv on May 26, the airport deputy director for commercial activities and strategic development, Heorhiy Zubko, has said at a press conference.
“The assets Boryspil airport intends to receive within the framework of this event are those that are directly related to aviation activity. We expect to receive at least UAH 15-20 million from that number of passengers who will come to us,” he predicts.
Zubko noted that in addition to income from aviation activities, the airport also expects to receive additional income from passenger service enterprises: cafes, duty free shops, etc., located in the airport’s territory.
As reported, Boryspil airport is expected to accept 77 flights with fans in Terminals B and D on the day of the UEFA Champions League final.
At the same time, Kyiv expects 100,000 guests for the UEFA Champions League final, but most fans will leave after the Champions League finals are finished and they will not need accommodation in the hotels of the capital.
Ireland’s low cost airline Ryanair is holding talks with five Ukrainian airports on launching flights and hopes to start flying to new destination to Ukraine in 2019, Ryanair CEO Michael O’Leary has said in an interview with the Ukrainian Tourism Newspaper. “Now we are negotiating with five more Ukrainian cities – maybe next summer we will open our flights there. I think we will develop in Ukraine very aggressively and rapidly increase the pace of our presence in the market,” he said.
At the same time, O’Leary expressed regret that the airline cannot yet launch all the destinations from Ukraine that it would like to launch, in connection with the existing restrictions in intergovernmental agreements.
He also said that Kyiv remains the key destination for the airline. When asked if negotiations with the airports of such cities as Kharkiv, Odesa, Dnipro, Kherson and Vinnytsia are being conducted, O’Leary said that the negotiations are being held “almost with all the mentioned cities.”
“I will be very glad if next summer we will be able to offer our passengers flights to such a beautiful city as Odesa, but it is too early to talk about the specifics. Our and Ukrainian negotiators still need to work hard for the successful implementation of this project,” the Ryanair CEO said.
The Irish low cost air carrier Ryanair will launch flights from Kyiv to Berlin from September 2018, the air carrier has reported.
The airline intends to begin flights from September 3 with a frequency of four times a week on Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays, and Sundays.
The minimum price of a one way ticket starts from EUR26.99. They are already available on the air carrier’s website.
At the same time, the air carrier said the promotional price will remain relevant for booking until Sunday, April 8.
“This will be the first Ryanair route to/from Ukraine. Flights will begin two months earlier than originally planned,” Head of the Ryanair Communications Department Robin Kiely said.
Berlin became the 11th direction from Kyiv, to which Ryanair opened ticket sales.
Air Malta airline plans to resume regular flights from Malta to Kyiv from June 19. According to a posting on the website of the airline, the flights will be serviced on Tuesdays. It will take around three hours to get to the Boryspil international airport. The fares start from $190 for a round trip.
Air Malta flied to Kyiv several years ago. Air Malta connects Malta with over 35 major cities across Europe and the Mediterranean.
