Results of flooding in Odessa – 10 dead

Search work in Odessa is completed, on more than 60 objects water pumped out, on about 30 more work continues, the victims of the disaster – 10, more than 380 people rescued, said the Minister of internal Affairs of Ukraine Igor Klymenko.

“In Odessa rescuers have completed search operations. Emergency recovery activities continue,” – wrote the Minister in the Telegram channel on Thursday.

He noted that the head of the state emergency service Andrey Danik is working on the site of liquidation of the consequences of the disaster.

“On more than 60 objects in the city specialists of the state emergency service have already fully pumped out water and prepared the infrastructure for further restoration. On about 30 – continue to work. The main thing that made sure: there are no more victims of the elements. There are 10 dead. More than 380 people have been rescued,” informed the head of the Interior Ministry.

According to him, all requests from the population have been processed.

Klimenko noted that the largest masses of water gathered in underground parking lots. “The elimination of waterlogging in these premises is the most difficult. Almost 130 motor pumps are at work, and also attracted attached forces from other regions. Only from the parking lots have already pumped out more than 15 thousand cubic meters of water,” – said the Minister.

As for shelters, according to Klimenko, out of 42 flooded in 40 have already pumped out water and prepared them for use. At 2 civil defense facilities, work is still ongoing.

“Professional training, availability of necessary equipment and experienced personnel were the key to such an effective result. Large areas of restoration work cleaned in such a short period of time – this is an eloquent indicator of the work of the State Emergency Service”, – summarized the head of the Ministry of Internal Affairs.

In addition, he said that throughout the night more than 50 rescuers worked in Slavutych, Kyiv region.

“Deployed 5 mobile points of indestructibility of the State emergency service, equipped with uninterrupted communication systems and devices for recharging gadgets. Prepared generators to support the work of the hospital and other social institutions”, – said the Minister.

Ukrzaliznytsia has changed train schedules due to flooding in Europe

Ukrzaliznytsia (UZ) has updated information on the temporary cancellation and rerouting of a number of flights due to the massive flooding in Eastern Europe, including the cancellation of the Vienna-Budapest-Kyiv flight, the rerouting of the Chop-Vienna-Chop flight, and the introduction of shuttle service on the Prague-Premyshl-Prague flight.
“The Vienna – Budapest – Kyiv flight has been canceled today. Passengers with tickets in Vienna are asked to come to the information and service center and receive vouchers for free accommodation,” the company said on its Telegram channel.
For its part, Ukrzaliznytsia clarified that the Kyiv-Budapest-Vienna flight will be heading to Budapest. The company also announced a change in the route of Chop-Vienna-Chop flights, which will be detoured to the final station of the route.
The company also informs about the cancellation of train traffic on the route Prague – Przemysl – Prague and the organization of alternative routes.
“Prague-Premysl-Prague trains are not yet able to pass the flooded area on the Czech-Polish border. Tomorrow, shuttle traffic is expected from Prague to the border and from Przemyśl to the border with a bus shuttle around the flooded area,” the carrier said.

Czech and Polish railway operators temporarily canceled number of flights due to flooding

Railroad operators in the Czech Republic and Poland have temporarily canceled a number of flights due to flooding, including, according to Czech RegioJet, a temporary suspension of traffic on the section between Ostrava and Olomouc, Czech Republic, which is used by the company’s trains from Prague to Przemysl and Chop.

“We ask all passengers to postpone their current trips between Ostrava and Olomouc or Przeworów. We will inform you about further developments,” the company said on its website.

For its part, Ukrzaliznytsia clarified that as of now, both RegioJet trains from Prague to Chop and Przemysl are still in the Czech Republic and have no chance of catching their connecting Ukrainian flights.

“Therefore, we remind you that we are ready to accept passengers with tickets for today’s trains for any of our flights of the same destination in the next day to any available seats without exchanging tickets,” the Ukrainian railroad operator said.

As for passengers from Ukraine traveling to their connection in the Prague direction, Ukrzaliznytsia recommended contacting the Czech or Polish railway operator to clarify the schedule of the next flights.

“There is a high probability that passengers should plan to spend the night in the city of connection,” UZ said.

Flooding in Kiev is on decline

The flooding in Kiev has receded, in particular, compared to yesterday’s day, the water level has decreased by another 5 centimeters, the Kiev city military administration said.
