UKRAINE INCREASES GAS PRODUCTION BY 3.6% IN JAN-APR

Production of natural gas in Ukraine in January-April 2019 increased 3.6% or by 245.1 million cubic meters (mcm) year-over-year, to 7.016 billion cubic meters (bcm), according to a preliminary report of JSC Ukrtransgaz. According to the calculations of Interfax-Ukraine, gas production by JSC Ukrgazvydobuvannia amounted to 5.14 bcm (2.7% more from January-April 2018), PJSC Ukrnafta to 382.9 mcm (11.2% more), other companies to 1.493 bcm (5% up).
In April 2019, gas production amounted to 1.741 bcm (4.3% up from April 2018), in particular production by Ukrgazvydobuvannia amounted to 1.272 bcm (2.5% more), Ukrnafta to 93.7 mcm (12.9% up), and other companies to 375.9 mcm (8.5% up).

UKRNAFTA INCREASES PRODUCTION OF OIL BY 6%, GAS BY 13% IN MARCH

PJSC Ukrnafta in March 2019 increased oil and condensate production by 6.4% (7,700 tonnes) compared to March 2018, to 128,800 tonnes, the press service of the company has reported.
Natural gas production increased by 12.9% (11.4 million cubic meters), to 100.1 million cubic meters.
The average daily production, respectively, amounted to 4,200 tonnes of oil and 3.2 million cubic meters of gas.
As reported, according to the non-audited statements, in 2018 Ukrnafta received UAH 6.628 billion of net profit against UAH 101.771 million of profit for 2017.
Last year, the company increased its oil and gas condensate production by 5% compared with 2017, to 1.448 million tonnes. Gas production decreased by 2.3%, to 1.082 billion cubic meters, production of liquefied gas by 5.2%, to 110,000 tonnes.

UKRAINE SEES 3% RISE IN GAS PRODUCTION

Production of natural gas in Ukraine in January and February 2019 increased by 2.8% (by 94.5 million cubic meters) compared to the same period in 2018, to 3.46 billion cubic meters, according to current data from PJSC Ukrtransgaz.
According to calculations by Interfax-Ukraine, in particular gas production by JSC Ukrgazvydobuvannia amounted to 2.542 billion cubic meters (2.7% up from January-February 2018), PJSC Ukrnafta to 189.2 million cubic meters (9.6% up), by other companies to 728.9 million cubic meters (1.5% up).
In February 2019, gas production amounted to 1.644 billion cubic meters (3.3% up compared to February 2018), in particular extraction by Ukrgazvydobuvannia was 1.207 billion cubic meters (3% up), Ukrnafta some 90.4 million cubic meters (10.7% up), other companies some 346.8 million cubic meters (2.4% up).
Ukrtransgaz, fully owned by Naftogaz Ukrainy, operates a system of trunk gas pipelines and 12 underground gas storage facilities of the country with a total capacity of 31 billion cubic meters.

SMART ENERGY MULLING PARTICIPATION IN OIL AND GAS ELECTRONIC AUCTIONS

The Smart Energy Group is mulling a possibility of participating in the first electronic oil and gas auction scheduled for March 6, 2019, Smart Energy CEO Sergei Glazunov said at a press conference in Kyiv. “We looked at 10 licenses that are exhibited on March 6. There are several interesting facilities there, and we are now deciding whether to participate in them. We hope that the auctions will be held as expected – transparently and in an understandable way,” Glazunov said.
As reported, on October 24, 2018, a temporary procedure for implementing a pilot project for the introduction of electronic trading in the sale of licenses for the use of subsoil came into force. In accordance with it, the licenses are sold exclusively through electronic bidding.
On December 6, 2018 the State Service for Geology and Mineral Resources put up the first 10 sites for electronic oil and gas auctions. At the second round at the end of January seven more sites were exposed.
The first auction will take place on March 6, 2019.

UKRAINE RAISES GAS PRODUCTION BY 0.5%

Natural gas production in Ukraine in 2018 increased by 0.5% (by 106.3 million cubic meters) compared to 2017, to 20.898 billion cubic meters, the Ministry of Energy and Coal Industry has told Interfax-Ukraine. According to the ministry, the enterprises of Naftogaz Ukrainy increased gas production by 0.9% (by 152.9 million cubic meters), to 16.506 billion cubic meters during this period. In particular Ukrgazvydobuvannia increased gas production by 1.2% (by 176.2 million cubic meters), to 15.420 billion cubic meters, while Ukrnafta reduced it by 2.1% (by 23.3 million cubic meters), to 1.078 billion cubic meters. Chornomornaftogaz retained production at the level of the previous year at 8.7 million cubic meters.
Other oil and gas producing companies operating in the country in 2018 reduced gas production by 1% (by 46.5 million cubic meters) compared to 2017, to 4.391 billion cubic meters.

JKX OIL & GAS WITH ASSETS IN UKRAINE AND RUSSIA RAISES DAILY PRODUCTION BY 27.8%

JKX Oil & Gas with assets in Ukraine and Russia in early 2019 reached the average daily production of 5,129 barrels (boepd), which is 27.8% more than the average figure for the fourth quarter of 2018, the company reported on the London Stock Exchange. According to the report, this result was achieved thanks to the successful testing of the IG103 wellbore, as a result of which the productivity of this well continues to exceed expectations and recently amounted to about 1,600 boepd, while the estimated production from it exceeds 30 million cubic meters.
In accordance with the presentation of JKX, last year it increased natural gas production by 4.6%, to 181 million cubic meters, oil extraction by 6.3%, to 34,000 tonnes.
The company said that in 2019 it intends to increase production in Ukraine thanks to new drilling and other measures, including research and 3D seismic exploration.
