Ukraine’s GlobalLogic, an IT company of the Hitachi Group, plans to open a mini-office in Odesa in a few days, which will be the company’s 11th mini-office in Ukraine, the company’s press service said on Friday.
“The specialists have shelter, stable communication, food and comfortable conditions for cooperation. According to their colleagues, they are happy to come to the mini-offices and meet each other live. This is especially important in these difficult times,” said Anna Shcherbakova, Vice President and COO of GlobalLogic.
It is specified that mini-offices are currently operating in Ivano-Frankivsk (2 offices), Vinnytsia, Rivne, Ternopil, Uzhhorod and Khmelnytskyi (opened last year), as well as in Chernivtsi, Poltava and Dnipro (opened in 2023).
It is noted that some of the mini-offices were closed during the summer season, but on the eve of winter, the company reopened additional hubs.
“As a result, more than 500 specialists who live in cities without permanent offices of the company have received stable access to electricity and the Internet,” GlobalLogic said in a statement.
In addition, the main offices in Lviv (2 locations) and Kyiv are operating in normal mode, and in Mykolaiv and Kharkiv – in a limited mode.

Ukrainian GlobalLogic, an IT company of the Hitachi group, has announced the acquisition of Fortech, a leading Romanian software development company.
Fortech is headquartered in Cluj-Napoca and is one of the largest digital engineering companies in Romania, GlobalLogic said on Wednesday.
The terms of the transaction were not disclosed. Under the agreement, Fortech will continue to operate with its existing leadership and staff as a wholly owned subsidiary of GlobalLogic. The transaction is subject to customary regulatory approval and is expected to close by the end of Calendar Q4, 2022. The transaction will strengthen GlobalLogic’s presence in Europe by opening up access to Romania’s strong talent pool and Blue-Chip’s customer base.
In addition, GlobalLogic has opened an office in Bucharest and is inviting engineers to join the company in Romania.

This acquisition will further enhance GlobalLogic’s presence in Europe and accelerate our access to the rich technical talent in Romania; it will arm Fortech with the resources and strong backing of GlobalLogic and Hitachi,” Nitesh Banga, President and CEO of GlobalLogic, said.
Fortech was founded in 2003, and it cooperates with more than 1,100 specialists. With offices in four cities in Romania, it provides a full range of digital engineering services including architecture design, software development, DevOps, QA and data analytics. It specializes in Cloud, IOT and SaaS.
The press release states that GlobalLogic’s investment in Fortech is part of the company’s multi-year strategy to increase its value in the European market and help better serve customers around the world.
IT company GlobalLogic Ukraine in 2018 saw a 32% rise in revenue, which is higher than average growth, the company has said.
“Ukraine occupies an important place in the regional structure of companies. In the past calendar year, GlobalLogic’s revenue in Ukraine grew by 32%, while the local IT market is growing by an average of 20-25% per year. Similarly, our profit increased, which we do not derive from the country, and fully use for business development in Ukraine,” Managing Director of GlobalLogic in Central and Eastern Europe Ihor Beda said.
According to him, the company expects that further consolidation of efforts in Central and Eastern Europe will increase the growth of the company’s performance and investment opportunities in the region.
Following the results of the past fiscal year (April 1, 2018 – March 31, 2019), the business of the GlobalLogic group of companies in Central and Eastern Europe grew by 27.6%. At the same time, the region accounts for 46.6% of the total revenue of the group of companies in the past financial year.
“Within the region, which includes 13 engineering centers in Ukraine, Poland, Slovakia and Croatia, only last year the group of companies invested $1.5 million in professional development and training of local specialists. A significant part of these investments falls on engineering talents in Ukraine,” the company said.
As reported, GlobalLogic is consolidating its business by combining 13 local development centers in the single region of Central and Eastern Europe, which will be headed by senior vice president of the company Ihor Beda, who has been the GlobalLogic Managing Director in Ukraine since 2014.
