DEFICIT OF UKRAINE’S FOREIGN TRADE IN GOODS IN JANUARY GROWS BY 18%

The deficit of Ukraine’s foreign trade in goods in January 2022 grew by 18.8% compared to the same period in 2021, to $.22 billion with an increase in exports by 53%, to $6.03 billion, and imports by almost 49%, to $6.25 billion, according to the State Customs Service of Ukraine.
Thus, the trade turnover of Ukraine in January rose by 51% compared to January 2021 and reached $12.28 billion.
As reported, in 2021, the deficit of foreign trade in goods amounted to $5.1 billion compared to $4.72 billion in 2020. Import of goods at the end of the year increased by 35.6% compared to 2020, to $73.3 billion, export by 38.3% to $68.2 billion.

UKRAINE’S TRANSPORTATION OF GOODS RAISES UP BY 3.3% IN 2021

The transport enterprises of Ukraine (excluding the territory of the Autonomous Republic of Crimea and Sevastopol, as well as part of the JFO zone) in 2021 increased transportation of goods by 3.3% compared to 2020 – up to 619.9 million tonnes, the State Statistics Service reported.
According to its data, the cargo turnover of carriers for 2021 amounted to 99.7% of the figure for 2020 – 289.254 billion tonne-kilometers.
According to statistics, in 2021, some 314.3 million tonnes of goods were transported by rail in domestic traffic and for export, which is 2.9% more than in 2020. Some 222.6 million tonnes (up 16.2%) were transported by road, 5.3 million tonnes (down 4.8%) by water, 77.6 million tonnes (down 20.4%) by pipeline, 100,000 tonnes by air (down 7.3%).

THE CLUB OF EXPORTERS OF UKRAINE LAUNCHED ONLINE PROJECT “DIGITAL EXPO – UKRAINIAN GOODS AND SERVICES”

Fierce competition in all industries and the rampant development of information and communication technologies constantly require businesses to look for new means to expand markets.

In August 2021, the Ukrainian Exporters Club launched a new online “Digital expo – Ukrainian Products and Services” Project. The Scope of the Project is to draw the attention of foreign importers, distributors, representatives of trading networks to Ukrainian products, attract them to cooperation and, thus, increase Ukrainian exports.

Digital expo is a web resource where only Ukrainian companies are represented. Each of them has its own web site with a scope of activities description, photos and presentations of products and services and a feedback form to send requests for cooperation. For ease of search, all companies are grouped by main categories, namely:

Digital expo is three sites, each in its own language: in Ukrainian, English and Chinese. This is done in order to improve market coverage and increase the confidence of foreign companies located in different regions of the world.

In fact, “Digital expo – Ukrainian Products and Services” is not a new project of the Ukrainian Exporters Club. It is a modernized, updated and adapted to modern market needs “Inspired By The Best In Ukraine” Project, which was created in 2015.

The previous project was supported by DHL and the EBRD at various stages of its life. It presented Ukrainian products and services at the international exposition IF CHINA in Beijing in 2016 and CIIE in China in 2019.

In the summer of 2021, the electronic catalogues of the Ukrainian Exporters Club became Digital expo.

In the last 3 months (June to August) of 2021, the exhibitors received more than 10,000 requests for cooperation from Malaysia, Poland, Turkey, China, Korea, Baltic States and other countries.

The modern project has become even better. It participates in international online expositions, including: worldexpo, expotobi, food1.com, echemi.com, infobel.com, foodfocus.co.za and others.

“Digital expo – Ukrainian Products and Services” is supported by world and Ukrainian reputable organizations, including: Ministry of Economy of Ukraine, Kyiv Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Entrepreneurship And Export Promotion Office, Euromonitor International and Others. The general media partner of the exposition is the Interfax-Ukraine News Agency.

TRANSPORT ENTERPRISES OF UKRAINE RAISE TRANSPORTATION OF GOODS BY 4.3% IN JAN-AUG

Transport enterprises of Ukraine (excluding the territory of the Autonomous Republic of Crimea and Sevastopol, as well as part of the JFO zone) in January-August 2021 increased the carriage of goods by 4.3% compared to the same period in 2020, up to 398.5 million tonnes, the State Statistics Service reported.
According to the report, the freight turnover of carriers for the specified period increased by 1.5%, to 188.4 billion tonne-kilometers.
According to statistics, in January-August 2021 some, 201.7 million tonnes of goods were transported by rail in domestic traffic and for export, which is 2.6% more than in January-August 2020. Automobile transport carried 141.7 million tonnes (more by 18.6%), water transport – 3.2 million tonnes (less by 3.1%), pipeline – 51.8 million tonnes (17.4% less), aviation – 100,000 tonnes (more by 1.3%).

TRANSPORT ENTERPRISES OF UKRAINE INCREASE TRANSPORTATION OF GOODS IN JAN-JULY

Transport enterprises of Ukraine (excluding the territory of the Autonomous Republic of Crimea and Sevastopol, as well as part of the JFO zone) in January-July 2021 increased transportation of goods by 4.7% compared to the same period in 2020, up to 342.3 million tonnes, the State Statistics Service reported.
According to its data, the freight turnover of carriers for the specified period increased by 1.6%, to 161.9 billion tonne-kilometers.
According to statistics, in January-July 2021, some 173.4 million tonnes of goods were transported by rail in domestic traffic and for export, which is 3% more than in January-July 2020. Some 120.8 million tonnes (more by 17.6%) were transported by road, 2.6 million tonnes (down by 4.8%) by water, 45.4 million tonnes (less by 14.5%) by pipeline, 100,000 tonnes (more by 4.5%) by air.

NOVA POSHTA STARTS DELIVERING GOODS FROM TURKEY

Nova Poshta Global, part of Nova Poshta Group, began delivering goods from online stores in Turkey; goods can be ordered through the NP Shopping website, the company’s press service said on Tuesday.
“Now Turkey is the third largest exporter of clothing in the world, and local manufacturers are actively developing their own brands – today there are more than 500 of them in the market. We expect orders from such online platforms as Hepsibursada, Trendyol, Morhipo, Collezione and others, because very few top Turkish brands are sold abroad online. Of course, the catalog of online stores will be constantly replenished with new names, so Ukrainians will feel like shopping in Turkey,” the press service said, citing Deputy Director for Product Development and Marketing of Nova Poshta Global Olha Volodina.
The company notes that for Turkish goods, the shipping cost will decrease in accordance with the weight of the shipment. To calculate the final shipping cost, one can use the calculator on the NP Shopping website.
Delivery times for orders from Turkey are from eight working days.
