The Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine included Uzhhorod industrial park in the register of industrial parks, the Economy Ministry’s press service said on Friday.
“The government is pursuing a consistent policy of creating conditions for the development of industrial parks as points of economic growth and post-war reconstruction of the country. The development of industrial parks will contribute to the recovery of industry, including export-oriented, with a high share of added value. It will also contribute to the development of local communities: they will get new budget revenues, new small and medium enterprises will be created in their regions”, stated First Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Economy Yulia Sviridenko.
The new industrial park is situated in the city of Uzhgorod in Zakarpattya region. According to the concept of the industrial park, up to 500 working places in the production sphere (processing industry) are supposed to be created on the area of 10,1907 hectares.

The Textile-Contact group of companies will open the country’s first industrial park for the production of non-narcotic technical hemp in the Rivne region, where a full cycle of research, selection, cultivation and processing of this plant will be launched.
As reported on the Facebook page of the Rivne Regional Military Administration (OVA), the fabric made from hemp will be used, in particular, as a material for sewing military uniforms that are invisible to the radiation of thermal imagers. In addition, industrial hemp is a good antiseptic; heating pellets and food products are produced from it.
“Back in April, I met with the owners of the company Alexander Sokolovsky and project manager Alexei Bolshev. This is the largest company in Ukraine engaged in the production of fabrics and clothing. Then they discussed the possibility of opening their production in the Rivne region. Now we have reached the finish line,” the Regional State Administration quotes its head Vitaliy Koval.
According to him, the creation of an industrial park will not be limited to investments in the region and the creation of jobs, but will launch a new industry in the country.
“We have already signed a memorandum on the relocation of the fabric production line. We have received the terms of reference for the land plot. We are working on finding options. I urge the communities to submit their proposals to the Department of Economics of the ROVA,” Koval summed up.
Textile-Contact is one of the largest trade and production groups in the light industry market of Ukraine, founded in 1995. Currently, it represents a holding uniting various areas of assets: wholesale and retail trade, import of fabrics, accessories and home textiles, production of fabrics, threads, dry cleaning, as well as tailoring and overalls (including military uniforms), medical products.
Before the Russian invasion, the factory produced about 400 thousand meters of fabric per month.
The construction of another plant began in the Bila Tserkva industrial park (Kyiv region), the launch is scheduled for November 1, UFuture founder Vasyl Khmelnytsky told Interfax-Ukraine.
“During the war, we felt a big request from Ukrainian manufacturers from the regions to relocate to the Bila Tserkva industrial park. They have an alternative – moving to the EU, but it is important for the economy to leave producers in the country: these are taxes, jobs and development. Today we’ve started the construction of a new modern facility for a plant on 4,000 sq m. The amount of investment will be approximately $2 million,” he said.
Khmelnytsky added that this project will be the company’s record for the speed of construction.
“Already on November 1, we will launch production there. Now we are negotiating with several applicants from Mykolaiv and Kharkiv,” Khmelnytsky said.
UFuture holding company of businessman Khmelnytsky, as part of a business strategy in 2022, planned to expand the number of production facilities in Bila Tserkva industrial park from five to 11. Earlier, in an interview with the Interfax-Ukraine agency, he said that 11,000 sq m of industrial premises will be built in this park for the relocation of enterprises, the estimated investment is $6.5 million. In general, the entrepreneur announced plans the construction of 30 factories in Bila Tserkva.
Vasyl Khmelnytsky, the founder of the UFuture holding, is considering the creation of an industrial park on the territory of the Syhnivka industrial zone in Lviv for the relocation of Ukrainian enterprises.
“We are considering the option of creating an industrial park here [in Lviv] so that our production facilities do not go abroad, but remain in Ukraine and create jobs in our country,” the entrepreneur said on Facebook after a meeting with Lviv Mayor Andriy Sadovy on Tuesday.
According to Khmelnytsky, the possibility of implementing the project is currently being discussed.
UFuture is a holding company that brings together Khmelnytsky’s business and social projects. It has a diversified portfolio of assets in real estate, infrastructure, industry, renewable energy, pharmaceuticals and IT. The value of UFuture’s assets is estimated at $500 million. The total capitalization of the businesses in which it has invested is up to $1 billion.
