Austrian territorial communities handed over specialized equipment to Kherson rescuers to eliminate floods and save people as a result of the Kakhovka hydroelectric power plant explosion. The regional military administration reported.
“Communities of Laxenburg and Wiener Neudorf of the county of Mjodling of the Republic of Austria transferred for the needs of employees of the State Emergency Service: inflatable boats, outboard engines, life jackets, motor pumps, pumps, fire hoses and other”.
“The other day, with the assistance of the Embassy of Ukraine in Austria, the humanitarian aid arrived in Zakarpattya, and from there it will already reach Kherson region,” the OVA said in the report.
Kherson Vodokanal received a modular water purification unit worth more than 3 million hryvnias, the regional military administration said.
According to the OVA’s Telegram channel on Thursday, the purchase of the unit was made possible thanks to the Kherson Regional Charitable Foundation “Unification” with the financial support of the United States (USAID) in coordination with the Kherson OVA.
“The cost of the installation is more than 3 million UAH. This mobile container will be effectively used by the city water utility to meet the drinking water needs of Kherson residents and after the liquidation of the consequences of flooding,” the message reads.
All-Ukrainian electronics and home appliance chain Foxtrot opened the brand’s first representative office in liberated Kherson on Saturday, the retailer’s press service said.
“We are glad to be among the first to tell the residents and guests of Kherson again: welcome to Foxtrot! We thank VSU for their heroism and our colleagues for their readiness to start work as soon as possible,” the press service quoted Foxtrot CEO Alexei Zozula as saying.
Store on Ushakov Ave., 26 will work as a point of issue and processing of Internet orders from 11:00 to 15:00 daily. Over time, the plan is to resume full operation with merchandise and an expanded list of services. Also operates free delivery of online purchases from Foxtrot.ua partners – in the operating offices and post offices of Novaya Post.
Till February 24 Foxtrot network was represented in Kherson by two stores. One of them, located in Fabrika shopping mall, was damaged as a result of hostile shelling of the mall in early March. The second retailer suspended its work, refusing to work under the occupation regime. Immediately after the liberation of Kherson, the business began preparations for a return to get up and running as quickly as possible.

Ukrzaliznytsia JSC is resuming the Kiev-Mykolaiv passenger service on Tuesday and expects to resume passenger service to Kherson within 10 days after completing a track inspection and repair of damaged infrastructure, Infrastructure Minister Alexander Kubrakov said.
“Now that the Ukrainian military has pushed back the front line, we are launching a direct rail connection Kiev-Mykolaiv. The first train will leave already tonight,” Kubrakov wrote on his Facebook page on Monday.
He added that as of today, road companies have started clearing roads so that humanitarian aid, rescuers, messengers and mail could reach people as soon as possible.
Kubrakov noted that the enemy blew up 14 bridges while fleeing the territory of Kherson.
“The road services are coordinating with the military, and as soon as the security situation allows – we will dismantle the structures of the bridges,” wrote the minister.
Kherson International Airport from September 20 until the end of the year will be closed for reconstruction of the runway.
The airport said on its Facebook page on Tuesday that work on the reconstruction of the runway will begin on September 1, but the airfield will be completely closed on September 20 until the repair is completed.
The approximate completion of the work is planned for the end of December 2021.
Earlier, the State Agency for Infrastructure Projects of Ukraine reported that the reconstruction of the runway of the Kherson airport would increase the annual passenger traffic to 500,000 people in a three-year outlook (154,100 in 2019).
According to the agency, after the reconstruction, the airport will receive a 4D airfield category, which provides for a runway length of more than 1,800 m and the ability to receive aircraft with a wingspan of 36-52 m and a main chassis track of 9-14 m.
The Kherson International airport is located in the village of Chornobayivka near Kherson. The first flight of the An-24 aircraft from Kyiv was carried out in 1961. In 2006, the airport received international status.
Snack Production (Dnipro) has completed the purchase of Kherson Fruit and Vegetable Plant LLC, the deal was accompanied by the international investment company Millstone & Co with offices in Ukraine and Poland, the investment company reported on its website on Tuesday.
“Kherson Fruit and Vegetable Plant Kherson is one of the largest private fruit and vegetable factories in Ukraine. Its average annual revenue from product sales is about UAH 60 million. The combine has established sales channels: distribution (more than 15 regular partners in all regions of the country); retail chains (for production products under its own trade marks). It also exports products to 20 countries of the world,” director of Millstone & Co in Ukraine Maksym Shynkarenko is quoted as saying.
The parties did not comment on the financial details of the deal.
According to Millstone & Co, the production area of Kherson Fruit and Vegetable Plant Kherson is 9,530 square meters on the territory of 5.2 hectares. The plant can process 300 tonnes of tomatoes per day, its capacity for sterilization and packaging of tomato paste is 3 tonnes per hour, the bottling of tomato juice into glass containers is 3.5 tonnes per hour, the production of juices and puree is 4-5 tonnes per day.
According to the Unified State Register of Legal Entities and Individual Entrepreneurs, after the purchase of Kherson Fruit and Vegetable Plant, its ultimate beneficiary was Larysa Omelchenko, who indirectly owns the asset through Closed Nondiversified Venture Capital Investment Fund Omelia Invest.
According to Snack Production, the group is engaged in the production of snacks under its own brands and their distribution through a network of 42 branches across Ukraine. It delivers products to the wholesale and retail segments of retail and HoReCa under the TM Khutorok, La Pasta perprimi, Zeffir, Morskiye (Marine), Frumi, Zubby, EVO home, SoHo, Glint, and Zeffir baby.
