The price of land plots in Kyiv has risen by an average of 5-10% since the beginning of 2021, according to Park Lane real estate agency.
“Land reacts least of all to changes in external factors (economic, political) due to limited supply within Kyiv. Land prices are showing growth, especially with a good location. Liquid land plots can always be profitably and quickly sold,” director general of Park Lane Viktoria Barabash said.
According to the analysis of Park Lane, the most expensive offer is in Pechersky district of the capital – $ 60,000-100,000/100 sq m, in Holosiyevsky district – $ 25,000-50,000/100 sq m, in Solomiansky district – $ 20,000-40,000/100 sq m.
Barabash noted an active demand for the purchase of land within the capital, but the interest in such real estate is lower than in houses or apartments built in residential complexes.
Today there is a choice of land plots in different districts of Kyiv and with a different purpose, ranging from 600 to 92,000 sq m.
According to Park Lane, the most diverse selection of land plots is in Holosiyevsky district (Pyrohovsky Way, Chabanovska Street, Kazatska Street, etc.), Solomiansky (Sovky), in Pechersk (Zverynetska Street, Redutna Street, etc.). Also, buyers are always interested in the land in Osokorky, Rusanivski gardens, where there is access to the water.
According to the results of June 2021, Sikorsky Kyiv International Airport served 117,545 passengers, which is over 2 times less than in the pre-crisis June 2019 (some 248,500 passengers).
At the same time, the infographics on the airport’s website indicate that in June this year, the largest passenger traffic was recorded since March 2020, when 78,900 passengers were served (in June 2020, Kyiv airport began operating international passenger flights only on June 17 due to quarantine restrictions).
In just six months of 2021, the airport served 337,340 passengers, which is almost 4 times less than in the same period in 2019 (some 1.332 million): international routes – 320,600 passengers, and domestic – 16,700 passengers.
Investments in the project for the creation and development of the International European University in Kyiv exceeded $3 million during the first year of its development, founder and vice-rector for scientific, pedagogical work and international relations of the university Alla Navolokina told the Interfax-Ukraine agency after a press conference at the agency on Thursday.
“Today, 850 foreign students from more than 40 countries of the world study at our university,” the vice-rector clarified.
According to her, training in scientific and educational institutions is carried out in seven areas: business school, architectural and engineering, language, medical, IT, law and art school. As part of the implementation of European education standards, students can choose freely more than 25% of subjects, not only in their professional filed, Navolokina specified.
She added that another feature of the university is a lifelong learning system – up to 93 years.
Chairman of the Development Assistance Council of the International European University, Academician of the Academy of Pedagogical Sciences of Ukraine Anatoliy Tolstoukhov noted at the press conference that the university seeks to bring Ukrainian education to a new quality level.
“Today, the process of consolidation of universities has begun in the world: along with schools, there will be much less of them. The specificity of our university is that at least two-thirds of students must be representatives of other countries,” he said.
According to him, such a scheme makes it possible to enrich the experience of world education in Ukraine.
Navolokina added that all teachers, students and junior staff at the university are fluent in English.
The International European University, according to the information on its website, was founded in Kyiv in 2019. Citizens of Ukraine and Austria are among its co-founders. The university has its own educational building at 1b Mahnitogorska Street in Kyiv.
According to the state register, the owner of a private institution of higher education “International European University” with an authorized capital of UAH 14.2 million through Polimed-K LLC is Serhiy Ryzhkov.

The American University Kyiv (AUK) in partnership with the Arizona State University (ASU) will open in Kyiv soon, representative of the UDAR Vitali Klitschko party Dmytro Bilotserkivets said on Facebook page.
“Our children, who want to get a Western education, but do not always have the opportunity to travel abroad, will soon have such an opportunity in Kyiv, which ranks first in innovation among the U.S. universities. The new university will be located in the building of the river station on the Postal Square,” Bilotserkivets said.
At the presentation of the new university, Kyiv Mayor Klitschko said the city fully supports this project.
“Education is the key to life. Many guys dream of getting an American education. From now they have the opportunity not to go to the United States for education, but to get it here in Ukraine. This is a great idea, a wonderful project that has the full support of Kyiv authorities,” the mayor said.
Bilotserkivets said a number of investors have been involved in the project, both from the U.S. and Ukrainian sides. The U.S. investors are represented by Kurt Volcker, who also took part in the presentation.
It is expected that after the restoration of the historic building, the university will accept its first students in the next academic year.
