KYIV-BASED LAVINA MALL GETS UAH 169 MLN NET LOSSES IN Q2

Lavina Mall LLC (Kyiv), the owner of Kyiv-based Lavina Mall located at 6, Berkovetska Street, saw UAH 169.1 million in net loss in April-June 2020 compared with UAH 92.6 million of profit a year ago. The company reported in the information disclosure system of the National Securities and Stock Market Commission of Ukraine, that in Q2 2020 its revenue fell by 28% year-over-year, to UAH 301.4 million.
In the second quarter compared with the first one, the company’s net loss decreased 18.3%, revenue increased 40%.
Gross profit decreased 5.7% and amounted to UAH 184.1 million, while operating loss amounted to UAH 21.9 million compared with profit in the second quarter of last year.
The uncovered loss of Lavina Mall LLC increased 2.3-fold, to UAH 296.7 million. Noncurrent liabilities increased slightly to UAH 1.637 billion, current grew by 17.8%, to UAH 2.316 billion.
The company’s assets in the second quarter increased 5% and amounted to UAH 4.4 billion.
Lavina Mall LLC was founded in 2013. The main activity is the leasing and operation of own and rented property.

BUS OPERATOR FLIXBUS LAUNCHES TRIPS KYIV-KRAKOW-PRAGUE AND KYIV-VILNIUS

The bus operator FlixBus launches two new international trips from Ukraine on the Kyiv-Krakow-Prague and Kyiv-Vilnius routes. The press service of the company said the Kyiv-Vilnius bus departs daily from Kyiv at 19:20 and arrives at Vilnius airport at 08:40, and then at the bus station at 09:05. Departure from Vilnius is at 21:30, then check-in at the airport of the Lithuanian capital, and arrival in Kyiv at 11:50 the next day. The carrier is the Lithuanian company Ollex. The line route is Kyiv-Chernihiv-Vilnius.

According to the statistics department of the Republic of Lithuania, 44% more Ukrainians arrived in Lithuania last year than in 2018. This is the highest increase among visitors from all countries. VOLUME OF MARKETABLE OUTPUT OF KYIVSKY CARDBOARD PAPER MILL TOTALES UAH 2.74 BLN IN JAN-JUNE 2020

The volume of marketable output of Kyivsky cardboard paper mill (Obukhiv, Kyiv region), a leader in Ukraine’s pulp and paper industry in terms of production and sales, totaled UAH 2.742 billion in January-June 2020, which is 1.5% more than the same figure for the first half of 2019.
As reported, in January-May of this year, the plant’s production volume was practically at the last year’s level.
According to the statistics of the Ukrpapir association, in natural terms in January-June the plant slightly (by 1%) increased production of corrugated packaging, to almost 113 million square meters, maintaining the second position in terms of its production in the country after Rubizhne plant (together with Trypilsky packaging plant).
In addition, the rate of growth in the production of base paper for sanitary and hygienic products slightly slowed down, to 4.9% (compared to 6.7% in five months), to 42,200 tonnes, and production of toilet paper in rolls to 4.9% from 6.1%, to 229.3 million units.
At the same time, output of cardboard decreased slightly, by 1% (compared to 3.1% in five months), to 96,180 tonnes, in particular production of boxboard increased by 21.6%, to 31,590 tonnes, while container (including paper for corrugation) decreased by 9.2%, to 64,590 tonnes.

Kyivsky cardboard paper mill is one of the largest cardboard and paper producers in Europe. It employs almost 2,200 people. It sells produce to almost 700 companies in Ukraine, some CIS member states and the rest of the world.

DRAFT GENERAL PLAN OF KYIV INCLUDES RAILWAY TRANSPORT HUBS DEVELOPMENT

The draft general plan of Kyiv includes the construction of an external bypassing railroad from Nizhyn to Korosten directions for passing transit freight traffic which has overloaded the capital’s railway hubs recently.
The press service of Kyiv City State Administration said referring to the municipal organization Kyivgenplan on Wednesday that the main railway development measures include:
– construction of a railway junction at various levels near the Livy Bereh (Left Bank) stop;
– construction of additional running lines on the sections: Kyiv-Demiyivsky – Darnytsia, Zhuliany – Hlevakha, Kyiv – Myronivka;
– closure of 66 low-density line at ten freight stations;
– creation of three transport and storage facilities near Kozhukhivka in Vasylkivsky district, Kalynivka in Brovarsky district, Ukrainka at the facility with new freight districts of the river port;
– closure of freight stations and Kyiv-Tovarny, Kyiv-Dniprovsky yards, Kyiv-Pochaina freight yard, Kyiv-Pasazhyrsky hauling yard and Darnytsia sorting yard.
As reported, the draft general plan of Kyiv also envisages the construction of two new bus stations at Kyiv’s exits and shutdown of the Central Bus Station.

INTERNATIONAL BUS CARRIER ECOLINES RESUMES TRAFFIC FROM KYIV TO POLISH CITIES FROM JUNE 25

The international bus carrier Ecolines, which includes the Ukrainian carrier Autolux, is resuming trips from Kyiv to Gdansk and Torun (Poland) from June 25.
According to the company’s website, it is also planned to resume trips from Kyiv to Zielona Gora from July 1.
As previously reported, Ecolines launched traffic from Kyiv to Wroclaw on June 22, and from Kyiv and Odesa to Minsk on June 25.
