HIGHEST LEVEL OF WAGES ARE IN KYIV, LOWEST IN CHERNIHIV, WAGES IN UKRAINE 13% UP IN JUNE

Real wages in Ukraine in June 2018 compared to June 2017 increased by 13%, compared to May 2018 by 4.8%, the State Statistics Service has reported. It said the average nominal wage of full-time employees in June 2018 compared to May 2018 rose by 4.8%, in annual terms by 24.2%, amounting to UAH 9,141, while in May it was UAH 8,725, in April some UAH 8,480, in March some UAH 8,382, in February some UAH 7,828, and in January UAH 7,711.
According to statistics, the largest growth in the average wage of full-time employees in June 2018 compared with June 2017 was observed in Zakarpattia (28.2%), Zhytomyr (27.4%), Dnipropetrovsk (27%), Poltava (26%), Vinnytsia and Zaporizhia (26.9%), Mykolaiv and Kirovohrad (25.8%), Volyn (25.6%), Ternopil (24.8%), Kyiv (24%), Khmelnytsky (23.7%), Lviv (23.6%), Cherkasy (23.5%), Ivano-Frankivsk (21.9%), Chernivtsi and Chernihiv regions and Kyiv (22.2%).
Wage growth in Donetsk and Luhansk regions (excluding part of the joint forces operation) was 20% and 33.4% respectively.
The highest level of wages in the past month was recorded in Kyiv at UAH 13,553, the lowest one in Chernihiv region at UAH 7,341.

CITY OF KYIV WITH KYIV REGION, DNIPROPETROVSK, KHARKIV AND ODESA AMOUNT TO 51% OF TOTAL TRADE TURNOVER IN UKRAINE

Ukraine’s retail trade in January-June 2018 increased by 6.2%.
Four regions (City of Kyiv with Kyiv region, Dnipropetrovsk region, Kharkiv region and Odesa region) amount to 51% of total trade turnover.
Luhansk and Ternopil are on the last places.
In June 2018 alone, retail trade decreased by 0.8% compared to May 2018, but it grew by 6.3% compared to June 2017.

VITALI KLITSCHKO PLANS TO RUN AGAIN FOR KYIV MAYOR

Vitali Klitschko plans to again run for Kyiv mayor, the politician said in an interview with Novoye Vremia publication. “I have been holding this post for four years. I have already done many things, and most importantly – a push. The past years were difficult. But I can say now that I will run for a mayor’s post, because I want to accomplish the plans voiced by me,” said Klitschko.
Klitschko has been holding the post of the mayor of Kyiv and head of the Kyiv city state administration since June 2014.

HUNGARIAN LOW-COST WIZZ AIR STARTS FLIGHTS FROM KYIV TO PARIS AND BRUSSELS

Hungarian low-cost airline Wizz Air will soon start flights from Kyiv to Brussels-Charleroi and Paris-Beauvais Airports.
“Our newest added destinations of Wizz from Kyiv include: Dortmund, Memmingen (Munich West,) Brussels-Charleroi, Paris-Beauvais and Copenhagen,” says a message sent to the airline’s customers on Thursday.
At the same time, flights from Kyiv to Brussels-Charleroi and Paris-Beauvais are not currently shown in the booking system, while flights to Dortmund and Memmingen (Munich West) have been serviced by the company for several years, and those to Copenhagen since August 2017.
As reported, Wizz Air in January-May 2018 transported 425,000 passengers to/from Ukraine, which is almost twice as many as in the same period of 2017. “From Kyiv, we offer 1.3 million passenger seats this year, which is 79% up. And in total from Ukraine this year, we offer 1.67 million passenger seats,” Head of Corporate Communications at Wizz Air Sorina Ratz said late in June.

IRISH RYANAIR TO LAUNCH FLIGHT FROM KYIV TO POLAND’S BYDGOSZCZ IN OCTOBER

Ryanair, the largest European low-cost airline, will launch a new flight from Kyiv to Bydgoszcz, the administrative center of Poland’s Kuyavian-Pomeranian Voivodeship, on October 31.
“+1 Ryanair flight from Boryspil to Poland as soon as this fall. In total, there are 17 directions handled by this company between Ukraine and the EU, and this fall there will be pleasant surprises from Europe’s No. 1 carrier!” Ukrainian Minister of Infrastructure Volodymyr Omelyan wrote on Facebook on June 26.
According to Ryanair’s booking system, flights to Bydgoszcz will be carried out twice a week – on Wednesdays and Sundays. Currently, prices start from EUR22 (one way).
Taking into account this route, Ryanair offers flights from Kyiv to six Polish cities and one destination to Germany, Spain, Lithuania, Slovakia, the United Kingdom and Sweden each, as well as two routes from Lviv to Germany and Poland each, and one to the United Kingdom.

WIZZ AIR TO START FLYING FROM KYIV TO LISBON, TALLINN, BERLIN, FROM KHARKIV TO KATOWICE

Wizz Air to place its third plane in its base in Kyiv and will start flying from Kyiv to Lisbon, Tallinn and Berlin, and from Kharkiv to Katowice, the airline has said in a press release on the occasion of the celebration of the 10th anniversary of its operation in Ukraine.
“In 2018, the airline doubles its operations in Ukraine,” acting Corporate Relations Head at Wizz Air Sorina Ratz said.
In addition, the airline will increase the weekly frequency of flights to seven popular destinations, adding a total of 24 flights a week.
Placement of the third airbus A320 in Kyiv, according to the airline, will create 100 jobs.
Flights Kyiv-Lisbon will be serviced on Tuesdays and Saturdays from June 21.
Flights Kyiv-Tallinn will be serviced on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays from June 21.
Flights Kyiv-Berlin will be serviced daily from July 1, and flights Kharkiv-Katowice – on Wednesdays and Sundays from June 20.
