UKRAINIAN COMPANY PLANS TO LAUNCH $12 MLN PRODUCTION OF ANIMAL FATS AND FEED ADDITIVES IN LVIV REGION

Feednova LLC, which is a part of Effective Investments Group of Companies, plans to launch in May 2020 a first phase of production of animal fats and feed additives for farm animals and pets in Busk of Lviv region worth $12 million.
As the company’s press service told Interfax-Ukraine, refinery capacity of the first phase will total 130,000 tonnes of raw materials per day. The first phase of the plant will include two production lines.
The launch of the second phase scheduled for February 2021. It will consist of three lines processing 90 tonnes of raw materials per day.
The total capacity of the plant will allow producing 100 tonnes of ready products per day. Investments in two phases are estimated at $20 million.
FeedNova is a modern enterprise that produces feed additives for farm animals and pets.
FeedNova provides services on the collection, transport, preparation and processing of material of animal by-products, which can no longer be used as food for humans.
Effective Investments Group of Companies was founded in 2007. It manages business projects in Ukraine.

50 MW WIND FARM TO BE BUILT IN UKRAINE, LVIV REGION

Lviv-based Yavoriv Enerho 2 LLC will construct a wind farm with a capacity of 50 MW in Yavorivsky district, Lviv region. The project envisages the installation of 25 wind turbines with a capacity of 3.5 MW to 5 MW each at a distance of 400 to 800 meters from each other. The wind turbines will be 100 to 166 meters high. The total area of the wind farm will be 1 hectare. It will annually generate around 180,000 MW per hour.
In addition, Wind Power GSI Volyn, the owner of Yavoriv Enerho 2 LLC, plans to construct a high-voltage substation 100 kW on the area of 2 hectares and a TRDN split-winding transformer for receiving and sending generated power to the power grid.
It is also planned to modernize high-voltage equipment at the Lviv Zakhidna substation 330 kW (1-2 units 35 kW-110 kW).

NEW ELEVATOR COMPLEX FOR 15,000 TONNES OF SEEDS OPENS IN LVIV REGION

Private enterprise Zakhidny Bug (Lviv region) has put into operation an elevator complex with a capacity of 15,000 tonnes of seeds in Brody, Lviv region, according to the website of Lviv Regional State Administration. According to the report, the new elevator complex consists of eight silos with a capacity of 500 tonnes each. “Every year Zakhidny Bug invests about UAH 25 million in construction, which is production facilities or social infrastructure for its own employees,” deputy director of the company Yuriy Odnorih said.
Lviv Regional State Administration stated over the past three years, starting in 2016, almost 200 new production facilities have opened in the territory of Lviv region.
Zakhidny Bug, founded in 2003, is engaged in cultivation, storage and sale of grains, technical and fodder crops. It rents 36,000 hectares of land in Lviv and Volyn regions. An agrochemical laboratory has been working within the enterprise since 2011. Agronomists-analysts develop a plant nutrition system on the basis of laboratory studies.

LVIV REGION EXPECTING 20% INCREASE IN TOURIST FLOW

The number of tourists visited Lviv region in 2018 would increase by 20% compared with 2017, the press service of the tourism and resorts department of the Lviv Regional Administration has reported. “Lviv region is expecting over 3 million guests this year. Over 70% would be Ukrainians and the rest – foreigners: Poles, Germans, French, Belarusians, Chinese, Turks and Spaniards. It is projected that the tourist flow would increase by 20%. Most of tourists would arrive in summer – around 35%,” the department said in response to the inquiry of Interfax-Ukraine.
The department said that the increase in tourist flow in summer is linked to hosting Tu Stan, Skhidnytske Lito, Zaxid Fest, Radostno Fest, Leopolis Jazz Fest, LvivMozArt and other festivals. According to a poll conducted by the tourism and resorts department, average annual occupancy of hotels in Lviv region is around 70%.
According to the information of the department, the tourist fee in the summer period of 2018 is expected at the level of UAH 3.4 million, which is 26% more than in the same period of 2017. The tourist fee for the whole of 2017 was UAH 10.7 million, which is 22% more than a year earlier.
Popular tourist destinations in Lviv region are: the Carpathians (Skole and Turka districts, the Skolivski Beskydy national park), health resorts (Truskavets, Morshin, Skhidnytsia), as well as castles of Lviv region. The average length of stay of tourists in the region is 12-14 days in resorts with mineral waters, three days in mountain areas and one day in small tourist cities (Zhovkva, Drohobych, Belz and Sambir).
According to the department’s estimates, the average budget per holidaymaker for a weekend in the region is UAH 2,500 (including accommodation, meals, transportation and souvenirs).

185 RESIDENTS OF LVIV REGION BECOME MILLIONAIRES IN 2017

Ukraine’s State Fiscal Service’s press office has said 185 residents of Lviv region in 2017 registered net worth exceeding UAH 1 million or more. Most of the millionaires live in the region’s capital – 113, followed by the district center of Stryi – 11 and Truskavets – 7.
The total of declared assets was UAH 900.4 million. The millionaires are obliged to pay UAH 25 million extra on personal earnings and UAH 3.3 million in military tax.
The region’s millionaire total increased by 36, compared to last year.
Some 41 millionaires made their fortune selling property, from interest and dividends – 30, salary – 28 and investments – 27.
