AMKR cuts metallurgical coke output by 66.7%

ArcelorMittal Kryvyi Rih PJSC (AMKR, Dnipropetrovsk Region) has reduced output of metallurgical coke at its coke-chemical division by 66.7% in January-November this year compared to the same period last year, to 880 thousand tons.
As a company representative told Interfax-Ukraine news agency, in November the company produced 44 thousand tons of metallurgical coke.
At the same time, in January-November 2022 the gross coke output of 6% moisture at AMKR exceeded 1 mln tonnes, including 51 thnd tonnes in November.
Coke production at ArcelorMittal Kryvyi Rih in eleven months of 2021 increased by 10% to 2.640 million tons, including 188 thousand tons in November last year.
In 11 months of 2022, the company supplied 1.3 million tons of coal concentrate, including 396 thousand tons of domestic coal, 390 thousand tons from Russia (before war), 65 thousand tons from Kazakhstan, 34 thousand tons from Poland, 15 thousand tons from Czech Republic, 208 thousand tons from USA and 187 thousand tons from Australia. In November, the AMKR supplied 50 thousand tons of coal, including 42 thousand tons of domestically mined coal, 7 thousand tons from Poland.
As earlier reported, in January-November 2022, Ukrainian coke plants reduced the production of gross coke 6% moisture content by 58.1% compared to the same period last year – up to 3.66 million tons. In November they produced 235 thousand tons of gross coke, including 204 thousand tons of metallurgical coke. For 11 months of 2022 metallurgical coke production was 3.14 million tons.
For 11 months of 2022, 4.254 million tons of coal concentrate (11M-2021 – 11.834 million tons), including Ukrainian production – 2.853 million tons, imported from Russia (before war) 623.9 thousand tons, from Kazakhstan (before war) – 65.4 thousand tons, Poland – 36.3 thousand tons, Czech Republic – 38.8 thousand tons, USA – 448.6 thousand tons and Australia – 187.3 thousand tons were supplied to domestic coke plants. Including 308 thousand tons of concentrate supplied in November, including 299 thousand tons of Ukrainian production.
As reported, Ukraine in 2021 decreased coke output by 1.3% compared with 2020 – to 9.543 million tons.

“ArcelorMittal Kryvyi Rih” at its coking division reduced production of metallurgical coke by 62.6%

Kryvyi Rih Mining and Metallurgical Plant PJSC “ArcelorMittal Kryvyi Rih” (AMKR, Dnipropetrovsk region) at its coke chemical division in January-August of this year reduced the production of metallurgical coke by 62.6% compared to the same period last year – up to 740 thousand tons .

A representative of the company told Interfax-Ukraine that in August the company produced 44,000 tons of metallurgical coke.

At the same time, in January-August 2022, the production of 6% moisture gross coke at AMKR amounted to 851 thousand tons, including 51 thousand tons in August.

Coke production at ArcelorMittal Kryvyi Rih for 8 months-2021 increased by 12.1% – up to 1.976 million tons, including 260 thousand tons in August last year.

In January-August 2022, 263 thousand tons of domestically produced coal, 390 thousand tons from Russia (before the war), 65 thousand tons from Kazakhstan, 27 thousand tons from Poland, 15 thousand tons from the Czech Republic, 208 thousand tons from the USA and 134 thousand tons from Australia. In August, AMKR delivered 48,000 tons of domestic coal, 18,000 tons from the United States, and 8,000 tons from Australia.

As reported, in January-August this year, Ukrainian Coke Plants reduced the production of gross coke with 6% moisture by 55.2% compared to the same period last year, to 2.94 million tons. Including for 8 months-2022, the production of metallurgical coke amounted to 2.52 million tons. At the same time, 257.7 thousand tons of gross coke were produced in August, including 221 thousand tons of metallurgical coke.

“ArcelorMittal Kryvyi Rih” is the largest producer of rolled steel in Ukraine. It specializes in the production of long products, in particular rebar and wire rod.

Yuzhkoks reduced the production of metallurgical coke by 19.8%

PrJSC “Yuzhkoks” (Kamenskoye, Dnepropetrovsk region) in January-August of this year reduced the production of metallurgical coke by 19.8% compared to the same period last year – up to 393 thousand tons.

A representative of the company told Interfax-Ukraine that in August the company produced 54,000 tons of metallurgical coke.

At the same time, he added that in January-August 2022, the production of gross coke with 6% moisture content amounted to 455 thousand tons, including 63 thousand tons in August.

The plant produced 490 thousand tons of coke in eight months of 2021, including 52 thousand tons in August 2021.

During this period, the enterprise was supplied with 515 thousand tons of domestic coal, 54 thousand tons from Russia (before the war) and 45 thousand tons from the USA. In August, only domestically mined coal was supplied in the amount of 69 thousand tons.

As reported, in January-August this year, Ukrainian Coke Plants reduced the production of gross coke with 6% moisture by 55.2% compared to the same period last year, to 2.94 million tons. Including for 8 months-2022, the production of metallurgical coke amounted to 2.52 million tons. At the same time, 257.7 thousand tons of gross coke were produced in August, including 221 thousand tons of metallurgical coke.

The authorized capital of PJSC “Yuzhkoks” is UAH 171.918 million, the par value of the share is UAH 0.25.

Yuzhkoks reduced production of metallurgical coke by 22.8%

PrJSC “Yuzhkoks” (Kamenskoye, Dnepropetrovsk region) in January-July this year reduced the production of metallurgical coke by 22.8% compared to the same period last year – up to 339.1 thousand tons.
A company representative told Interfax-Ukraine that in July the company produced 34,400 tons of metallurgical coke.
At the same time, he added that in January-July 2022, the production of gross coke with 6% moisture content amounted to 392.8 thousand tons, including 39.9 thousand tons in July.
The plant produced 439 thousand tons of coke in seven months of 2021, including 62 thousand tons in July 2021.
During this period, 446.8 thousand tons of domestic coal were supplied to the enterprise, 54 thousand tons from Russia (before the war) and 45 thousand tons from the USA. In July, only domestically mined coal was supplied in the amount of 46,000 tons.
As reported, in January-July this year, Ukrainian Coke Plants reduced the production of 6% moisture gross coke by 53.4% ​​compared to the same period last year – to 2.682 million tons, in July 224.4 thousand tons were produced. Including for 7 months-2022, the production of metallurgical coke amounted to 2.3 million tons, in July – 191.8 thousand tons.

DMZ coke division reduced production of metallurgical coke by 52.4%

The coking division of PJSC “Dneprovsk Metallurgical Plant” (former “Dneprokoks”), which is part of DCH Steel of the DCH group of businessman Alexander Yaroslavsky, in January-July of this year reduced the production of metallurgical coke by 52.4% compared to the same period last year – to 135 .2 thousand tons.
As a representative of the company told the Interfax-Ukraine agency, in July the enterprise produced 18.3 thousand tons of metallurgical coke.
At the same time, for 7 months-2022, the output of gross coke with 6% moisture content amounted to 166.2 thousand tons, including 22.7 thousand tons in July.
The plant produced 283.9 thousand tons of coke in January-July 2021, including 41.7 thousand tons in July-2021.
For 7 months-2022, 175 thousand tons of domestic coal were supplied to the enterprise, 37 thousand tons from Russia (before the war), 3 thousand tons from Poland and 24 thousand tons from the Czech Republic.
DMZ specializes in the production of steel, cast iron, rolled products and products from them. On March 1, 2018, the DCH Group signed an agreement on the purchase of the Dneprovsky steel plant from Evraz.

UKRAINE IN JAN-APR REDUCED PRODUCTION OF METALLURGICAL COKE

In January-April this year, Ukrainian Coke and Chemical Plants (CCP) reduced the production of 6% moisture metallurgical coke by 41.4% compared to the same period last year, to 1.905 million tons.
Anatoly Starovoit, general director of the association of coking enterprises Ukrkoks (Dnipro), told Interfax-Ukraine that 243,000 tons were produced in April and 179,000 tons in March.
At the same time, he specified that Yuzhkoks, Kametstal (former DKHZ), DMZ (Dneprokoks), Zaporizhkoks, and coke production at ArcelorMittal Krivoy Rog are currently operating.
“The largest Avdiivka Coke Plant is idle,” the agency’s interlocutor stated.
The CEO also said that in 4 months-2022, 1 million 875.4 thousand tons of coal concentrate were supplied to domestic CCP, including 642.67 thousand tons of Ukrainian production, 616.9 thousand tons were imported from the Russian Federation, from Kazakhstan – 65.4 thousand tons, Poland – 29.1 thousand tons, Czech Republic – 30.6 thousand tons, USA – 380.3 thousand tons and Australia – 110.5 thousand tons.
In April, 255.2 thousand tons of Ukrainian production were delivered, 8.2 thousand tons were imported from the Russian Federation, 0.1 thousand tons from Poland, 2 thousand tons from the Czech Republic, 18.2 thousand tons from the USA, Australia – 34.5 thousand tons, in total 318.2 thousand tons were imported.
Starovoit also recalled that in January, 135.7 thousand tons of coal concentrate of Ukrainian production were supplied to the Coke Plant, as well as, in particular, 416.9 thousand tons from the Russian Federation, 41.3 thousand tons from Kazakhstan, 13.2 thousand tons – from the Czech Republic, 197.5 thousand tons – from the USA, 4.1 thousand tons – from Australia, in total – 809.1 thousand tons.
In February, 104 thousand tons were delivered (Ukraine), in particular, 178.3 thousand tons were imported from the Russian Federation, 24.1 thousand tons from Kazakhstan, 2.6 thousand tons from Poland, 6.6 thousand tons from Czech Republic, 138.9 thousand tons from the USA.
As reported, the Ukrainian Coke Plants (KHZ) in January this year reduced the production of 6% moisture metallurgical coke by 4.5% compared to the same period last year – up to 807 thousand tons. In December, 812 thousand tons of coke were produced.
