“Oranta” Increased Insurance Premiums by 7.3% in First Half of Year

In January–June 2026, NASK “Oranta” collected insurance premiums totaling 1.9 billion UAH, which is 7.3% more than in the same period a year earlier (1.77 billion UAH).

According to the insurer’s website, the company issued over 1.36 million insurance policies in January–June. Compared to the first half of 2025, this number increased by 8.1%.
The majority of the portfolio consisted of compulsory motor third-party liability insurance (CMTPL) policies—UAH 1.57 billion (+6.6%). The company issued over 609,000 CMTPL policies.

Premiums from accident insurance increased by 61.7% to 18.8 million UAH, and from health insurance by 51.5% to 76 million UAH. Premiums from comprehensive auto insurance (CASCO) rose by 26.5% to 52.6 million UAH. The number of health insurance policies increased by 48.2% to 254,000, and comprehensive auto insurance (CASCO) policies by 59% to 5,400. In liability insurance, the number of policies issued more than doubled to 91,800.

The company also reports that during the first six months of 2026, it made insurance payments totaling 763.4 million UAH, which is 55.1% more than during the same period in 2025.

The largest share of payouts was for compulsory motor third-party liability insurance (CMTPL)—638.4 million UAH, which is 74.7% higher than the figure for the corresponding period last year. Payments under “Green Card” policies totaled 64.2 million UAH, while comprehensive auto insurance (CASCO) payments amounted to 27.1 million UAH. Health insurance payouts rose by 87.9% to nearly 26 million UAH.

At the end of the first six months, Oranta’s assets totaled 3.86 billion UAH, a 36.3% increase compared to the same period a year earlier. Equity rose by 57.5% to 1.26 billion UAH, while insurance reserves increased by 27.3% to 2.39 billion UAH.
The company’s net income for the first half of the year was 306.1 million UAH, compared to 73.7 million UAH for the same period in 2025. A total of 230 million UAH in taxes was paid to budgets at all levels—48% more than in the first half of last year.

Auto insurance remains the foundation of our portfolio, but health insurance, comprehensive auto insurance (CASCO), and other areas we have identified as priorities are making an increasingly significant contribution. It is essential for us that business growth be accompanied by the strengthening of financial stability and the company’s ability to fulfill an ever-increasing volume of obligations to our clients,” said Jacek Meizner, Chairman of the Board of NASK ORANTA.

NASK “Oranta” is the legal successor to “Ukrderzhstrakh,” founded on November 25, 1921, and has been conducting insurance operations in Ukraine for over 100 years.
The company has been a full member of the Motor Transport Insurance Bureau of Ukraine (MTIBU) since 1994 and a member of the Nuclear Insurance Pool since 2003.

The insurer’s main shareholder is the Ukrainian business group DCH.

“Express Insurance” Increased Its First-Half Premiums by 18.9%

In January–June 2026, “Express Insurance” collected insurance premiums totaling 667 million UAH, an increase of 18.9% compared to the same period in 2025.

According to the insurer’s website, the company generated the largest volume of insurance premiums from comprehensive auto insurance (CASCO) policies—423.3 million UAH, which is 11.3% higher than the figure for the same period last year.

Under MTPL policies, the company collected nearly 229.1 million UAH in insurance premiums, a 36.6% increase compared to January–June 2025.

Revenue from other types of insurance totaled nearly 14.6 million UAH (+14.8%).

The number of insurance policies issued in January–June 2026 increased by 39.4% compared to the same period last year. This indicates the expansion of the company’s customer base and continued strong interest in its insurance products.

The report notes that during this period of the current year, Express Insurance paid out 329.9 million UAH in insurance claims, which is 47.7% more than during the same period last year.

Express Insurance was founded in 2008. It is part of the “UkrAVTO” group of companies. It specializes in auto insurance.

The company has over 300 insurance agents throughout Ukraine and is actively expanding its network of partner auto service centers.

TAS Insurance Group Increased Its First-Half Premiums by 11.6%

TAS Insurance Group (Kyiv) collected 3.857 billion UAH in insurance premiums from January through June 2026, an increase of 11.6% compared to the same period in 2025.

According to the insurer’s website, premiums for comprehensive auto insurance (CASCO) in the first six months of 2026 accounted for 14.97% of total premiums, or 577.3 million UAH (+19.8%); premiums for mandatory auto liability insurance (OSCPV) accounted for 54.8%, or 2.112 billion UAH (+13.4%); and for the “Green Card”—13.5%, or 519 million UAH.
Under voluntary medical insurance (VMI), TAS Insurance Group collected UAH 251.8 million in premiums in January–June, or 6.53% of the total, which is 67.6% more than the corresponding figure for last year; under property insurance contracts—UAH 62.34 million (+34.4%).

Under other policies, TAS Insurance Group collected insurance premiums totaling 334.5 million UAH in January–June of this year—25.2% more than last year.
As previously reported, TAS Insurance Group paid out UAH 2.141 billion under insurance contracts in January–June 2026, which is 66% more than during the same period in 2025.

Comprehensive auto insurance (CASCO) accounted for 19.72% of total payouts, or 422.5 million UAH (31.6% more than in the first six months of 2025); mandatory third-party liability insurance (MTPL) accounted for 49.8%, or 1.066 billion UAH (2.5 times more); and “Green Card” insurance accounted for 16.5%, or 353.1 million UAH (+9.9%).
Voluntary medical insurance (VMI) accounts for 28% of the company’s claims portfolio, or 239.1 million UAH (+11.2%). Meanwhile, under property insurance policies, the company paid out 18.3 million UAH, which is 3.1 times more than the corresponding figure a year ago.

Under other insurance contracts, TAS Insurance Group paid out 45.54 million UAH in January–June of this year—62.1% more than a year ago.

Insurance Company “Universal” Increased Premiums by 27% in First Half of Year

Insurance Company “Universal” (Kyiv) collected 2.04 billion UAH in insurance premiums from January through June 2026, which is 27% more than during the same period in 2025, according to the insurer’s website.

According to the data, of this total, UAH 678.9 million (+25%) came from comprehensive auto insurance (CASCO), UAH 616.8 million (+36%) from health insurance, UAH 172.9 million (+45%) from compulsory motor third-party liability insurance (OSCPV), UAH 157.3 million (+14%) from accident insurance — 157.3 million UAH (+14%), aviation insurance — 129.9 million UAH (+24%), property insurance — 92.2 million UAH (+11%), travel insurance — 42 million UAH, and other types of insurance — 152 million UAH.

The main shareholder of IC “Universalna” is Fairfax Financial Holdings Limited (Canada)—a holding company that, through its subsidiaries, is primarily engaged in accident insurance, property insurance, and investment management.

“Express Insurance” Increased Payouts by 56% in June

In June 2026, “Express Insurance” paid out 64.2 million UAH in insurance claims, which is 56.3% more than during the same period in 2025, according to the company’s website.

Under comprehensive auto insurance (CASCO) policies, customers were reimbursed 48.5 million UAH, which is 50.7% higher than in June 2025. At the same time, the number of settled insurance claims under CASCO policies decreased by 13.7%.
The company notes that in June it observed a trend toward a significant increase in the average insurance payout, reflecting the continued rise in the cost of vehicle repairs. Specifically, the average cost of settling a single insurance claim under CASCO policies rose by 74.6% compared to June of last year.

Payouts under MTPL policies showed significant growth: in June 2026, they totaled 15.2 million UAH—78.6% more than during the same period last year.
Unlike CASCO, the growth in payouts in this segment was driven by a 16.7% increase in the number of settled claims, as well as a higher average cost of compensation paid to victims (+53.1%).

For other types of insurance, clients received 546.2 thousand UAH in payouts, which is 34.1% more than in June of last year.

“Khmelnytskoblenergo” Seeks an Insurer for Compulsory Motor Third-Party Liability Insurance Worth Nearly 5 Million UAH

On June 19, PJSC “Khmelnytskoblenergo” announced a tender for compulsory motor third-party liability insurance for owners of land vehicles, according to the Prozorro electronic public procurement system.

The estimated cost of the services is 4.657 million UAH. Documents for participation in the tender will be accepted until June 29. As previously reported, VUSO Insurance Company won a similar tender a year earlier.
